I noticed this a little too much, so I'm going to say it with much love. SnS is the only weapon to NOT require sheathing in order to use items. Just hold the block button when trying to use an item. You don't have to keep holding it after the item using animation has started, just until then. You'll find traps, bombs, pods, and even potions/those wonderful shrooms so much easier if you don't constantly lose some momentum when dealing with constantly sheathing and unsheathing.
@@Deathkri it used to be much more useful than it is now, since you can move while drinking, but you can't sprint without sheathing which is not good. SNS has the fastest sheathe also
When your switch axe 100 hours released I had just started but now using your advice to give my palico the flashing cage I’m 122 hrs into my first play through and finished all of mhw and iceborne! Thank you for being an inspiration to try this game out. Keep being awesome!

as an MR 376 player around when iceborne was first released, i just got back into the game 2 weeks ago, and i realised when i got on my main character that i had forgotten everything i know. with no idea of what to do and where to go, no idea what guiding lands are and no idea where my next stop should be, i decided i should start over. i almost decided to just not get into the whole song and dance again once over, as builds were always confusing to me, and as a charge blade player id have to learn guard points all over again, yet your videos made it seem fun and enticing. Now here i am, another 210 hours deep within 2 weeks, binging your videos on the second monitor. I love watching your videos and I love the way you learn these weapons one by one, and so far ive watched all of them. What I'd really love to see though, is an aftermath of these 100h challenges, where you explain -kind of like a guide- how to use the weapon of that challenge run, how you learned it, and some tips and tricks you picked up along the way. Would also be amazing to see your builds in a little progression route. Like a word doc. Love your videos!

Stumbled upon this channel while playing wuthering waves and figured I'd throw in a long video in the background, and I ended up watching the switchaxe run. By the end of the video, i ended up quitting wuthering waves and installed world and started becoming a switch axe main after 3 years, and I forgot how much I cooked with it
The beauty of SnS is that everyone can swing it and succeed with it. But damn once you learn when to shield bash, how to position, when to use your charge into jump and when to use your perfect rush... it truly becomes a weapon of art that perfectly fits in any team composition, offering stuns, mounts, easy wounding and slinger ammo at all times, not to mention not needing to sheath to use items which also makes it an amazing utility as well as allowing for an unrivaled variety of builds. SnS at least in my eyes is the quintessential Easy to learn / Hard to master. But boy does it repay you big time once you master that wonderful little thing. PS: Yes I am biased about this weapon as a SnS main.

SnS is so good. Especially after Iceborne came out. Perfect Rush is legit busted OP. The damage it can do is legitimately some of the highest burst damage in the game. Then take into account that on top of it's high dps, it can K.O, and has some of the easiest mounts in the game. The backhop on SnS is insanely good almost functioning like longsword foresight slash with the I frames. Very fast animations. Can tenderize in one attack with clutch claw uppercut making it one of only 2 light weapons that can do that without clutch claw boost. It has the fastest sheath animation in the game. It is very skill efficient because it doesn't need any extra skills like artillery or focus to increase it's damage. People that say that SnS is a jack of all trades master of none, don't play SnS. Or at least they don't play it to a high level. Anybody that can play SnS to a very high level knows that it is actually a Jack of all Trades, master of almost everything. What a great weapon. There is a very good reason why people that actually do full game Speedruns of MHW use SnS for a vast majority of the playthrough. It is optimal. SnS is what peak performance looks like.

3 things. Sword being a lot quicker if weaker balanced out to more damage to the tail. The Shield stunned monsters and could deal a lot in openings. And Punchy being the Cat this run. Remember to pay the cat their due everyone.
I've never played The Monster Hunter games before. The full deluxe version of World is on sale until 11/31 for 21 bucks on Steam so I had to pick it up. Might try out the sword and shield first :)
@IzInAZ Well, the Eater of Elder Dragons do have to make it's name relevant. Timing is everything so eye out the little moments that a monster pauses in its combos, and always pace yourself. Haste makes waste🙌🏾

This weapon got me my first fatalis solo kill. Got down to one cart left and had him to 5% health with only a few minutes left using hammer. Swapped over to SnS because I was too scared to keep trying with hammer. Got him with a perfect rush to the face.
I consider SnS my first proper weapon, I originally started insect glaive, but hit diablos as a wall, and so played about with a few other weapons, eventually when it came out I beat iceborn, AT monsters, even extreme behemoth, everything I fought (besides group hunt style monsters) I fought solo to learn first, and it fills any niche in a team (besides massive DPS but), you need elements I got elements, you need support, I got wide range, you need stuns or mounts or tail cuts, I got them all, and it's got a block X It's so easy to learn, but difficult to master sort of thing, can't wait for the gunlance vid next 🖤 X
Totally agree! SnS can do everything and the best players in SnS use everything at their disposal. It's pretty awesome 💪 Working on the Gunlance video and hope to have it done soon!
i love the content bro but i gotta say you are missing out on SO MUCH mountiung damage, do your unsheathing attack to ledges and you will jump off with and upslash and follow with another slash, that and running attack into a wall run spot will have you do a super high mount damage plunging strike that hits multiple times on the way down! keep it up bro much love from an sns main

What would you have considered your primary weapon before starting these 100 hour challenges? And do you think you would consider changing to another weapon after completing all of these 100 hour challenges?
I definitely would say I was a Dual Blades player. But I'm pretty sure I'm more of a Switch Axe fan now because of the challenge. And I can't wait to see what other weapons I get a fondness for haha

i tryed this chalange, i was really suprized that kushala teostra and valhazak were all 10 minute hunts for me, i did have a ruff time with nergi ( i had to do it 3 times) but i am now going in to the final boss of the base game then MR, lets hope i dont flop it ( im at 15 hours and 26 minutes so i think i can get it under 16 hours if i try)
Just saw this and had to say, thank you for the dedication to this weapon. I would like to think that my build is made to handle everything; not that it has every stat but that it should improve anyone's survivability if I join a hunt. I have a mosswine set to buff everyone when the mission starts and switch(even though I could finish the quest with it) to my go-to's. Even though I main healer SnS, I have mastered all the other weapons for perspective. Even in the beta, I started with longsword and switchaxe, but once the main game set in.. I was stuck on SnS for a while😅. Guess it wasn't challenging enough until I started healing, then That was when the game became addicting." I have to keep everyone alive," was the mentality then and now😂 . Ancient Leshen still makes my hands sweat when I think about the first time😩. Anyway, Iceborne definitely opened up the variety of move choices for SnS and for as much as I've played.. Health management is still the biggest priority, and taking on a healer role is definitely tedious. No amount of healing can save you or your teammates if you're on the last cart, with the skull on, 10 minutes left, restocked items, and still get one-shot by Arch-tempered Velkana with it's double flash breath aimed at a teammate that you happened to be in the line of🫠. Ultimately, it all comes down to skill 🤷🏾♂️, love the content🙏🏾🤙🏾.
One thing I like about my new co trollr is that it Vibrates so, every red flash it vibrates. Other than that, my personal advance is to have a gap with each swing. Like clutching a stronger fist
In theory I heckin love Monaster Hunter! I have MHW+IB on PS5Pro, and MHW on Steam.... Rise on Switch and PC (Game Pass).....I take massive breaks and then end up starting over on another platform or whatever. I need to find a way to just dang well play and stick to it! Dunno whether Rise of World at this point.... I like grinding for stuff to basically upgrade and get overpowered, thats like my favourite gameplay loop. I think both games just provide catch up gear now though :(

Oh the live is SO fun, you'll have a good time. Unfortunately the next 100 Hour Challenge is delayed until August as I'm gone in Michigan for most of July. But I am streaming the same schedule, just doing some Monster Hunter Stories until I return from my trip.

One of the main things im doing rn in world is create a new character for each of the weapons, i have over 200 hours just on the sword and shield one (finished the game already) personally, not a fan of the weapon, so i respect u doing that 😅 (what i do in order to have enough profile slots is family share the game to one of my alts, so i get 3 new free slots)
Sns was always my first pick of weapons. It was because of the ease of use and it had versatility in all forms of element, slash, blunt, and shield. It also had utility uses because it was the only weapon you can use items when having it out.
@@BornOfChaosAndOrder +while it always be a competent (yet underestimated) weapon it feels really powerful in world now. It can do really solid damage while being almost as much on the move as DB while being more precice with dodging, it can easily mount, too.
As a SnS player on my first playthrough I just earned my first Research Commission ticket, what should I spend it on? Options are Mushroom Charm, Handicraft charm.... or something else? (Guard 5?)

Are any of the other choices to be considered for normal people? 😉 My feeling tells me only handicraft and guard could be worth it for any builds on all weapons. Lunastra weapons not worth it either, neither is the gear. Correct?
I know you probably won't see this, but I am genuinely curious, seeing as you killed Alatreon, I am so curious What is your method for getting decorations? Because Alatreon isn't the kinda hunt I'd do without decos, and I know that decos are RNG so I'm just genuinely curious, within 100 hours where are you getting your decorations?
Me? Not see this?! I love comments 😊 I didn't defeat Alatreon. I just took his tail. I highly doubt I'd be able to defeat Alatreon in the 100-hour challenge as there's not enough time to farm up equipment and decos to take it down 😊 you'll see my failure of the quest at the end of the video 💪

I just use whatever I get and make the best of it lol and I think that's one of the fun parts of the challenge. I'm playing the game with sub-optimal gear, and yet I get to do awesome things! 💪
Tbh sns is easier with controller, because your controller will give you vibration feedback so you know when to do your perfect rush , when the controller vibrate just imidieatly press Y/Tri

As a person who is doing speedruns in mhw and rise w and w/o my team(Gs,sns main) The fact that some people thinks that they can master every Weapon in 100 hrs is hilarious 😂 yes there are different types of weapons and some of them are easier to master in 100 doablelike sns,h/lbg,dbs,lance,hammer but gs,bow,cb,swax not happening u might think u mastered them but in actuality...nope.

It's 10 times easier to sheathe and do what you want

This weapon got me my first fatalis solo kill. Got down to one cart left and had him to 5% health with only a few minutes left using hammer. Swapped over to SnS because I was too scared to keep trying with hammer. Got him with a perfect rush to the face.

I consider SnS my first proper weapon, I originally started insect glaive, but hit diablos as a wall, and so played about with a few other weapons, eventually when it came out I beat iceborn, AT monsters, even extreme behemoth, everything I fought (besides group hunt style monsters) I fought solo to learn first, and it fills any niche in a team (besides massive DPS but), you need elements I got elements, you need support, I got wide range, you need stuns or mounts or tail cuts, I got them all, and it's got a block X
It's so easy to learn, but difficult to master sort of thing, can't wait for the gunlance vid next 🖤 X
Totally agree! SnS can do everything and the best players in SnS use everything at their disposal. It's pretty awesome 💪

i love the content bro but i gotta say you are missing out on SO MUCH mountiung damage, do your unsheathing attack to ledges and you will jump off with and upslash and follow with another slash, that and running attack into a wall run spot will have you do a super high mount damage plunging strike that hits multiple times on the way down! keep it up bro much love from an sns main

Somthing I found good for the velkhana quest is the iceproof mantle can it helps with the cold in horfost and the ice blight when low on null berries

I definitely would say I was a Dual Blades player. But I'm pretty sure I'm more of a Switch Axe fan now because of the challenge. And I can't wait to see what other weapons I get a fondness for haha

i tryed this chalange, i was really suprized that kushala teostra and valhazak were all 10 minute hunts for me, i did have a ruff time with nergi ( i had to do it 3 times) but i am now going in to the final boss of the base game then MR, lets hope i dont flop it ( im at 15 hours and 26 minutes so i think i can get it under 16 hours if i try)

Just saw this and had to say, thank you for the dedication to this weapon. I would like to think that my build is made to handle everything; not that it has every stat but that it should improve anyone's survivability if I join a hunt. I have a mosswine set to buff everyone when the mission starts and switch(even though I could finish the quest with it) to my go-to's. Even though I main healer SnS, I have mastered all the other weapons for perspective. Even in the beta, I started with longsword and switchaxe, but once the main game set in.. I was stuck on SnS for a while😅. Guess it wasn't challenging enough until I started healing, then That was when the game became addicting." I have to keep everyone alive," was the mentality then and now😂 . Ancient Leshen still makes my hands sweat when I think about the first time😩. Anyway, Iceborne definitely opened up the variety of move choices for SnS and for as much as I've played.. Health management is still the biggest priority, and taking on a healer role is definitely tedious. No amount of healing can save you or your teammates if you're on the last cart, with the skull on, 10 minutes left, restocked items, and still get one-shot by Arch-tempered Velkana with it's double flash breath aimed at a teammate that you happened to be in the line of🫠. Ultimately, it all comes down to skill 🤷🏾♂️, love the content🙏🏾🤙🏾.

In theory I heckin love Monaster Hunter! I have MHW+IB on PS5Pro, and MHW on Steam.... Rise on Switch and PC (Game Pass).....I take massive breaks and then end up starting over on another platform or whatever. I need to find a way to just dang well play and stick to it! Dunno whether Rise of World at this point.... I like grinding for stuff to basically upgrade and get overpowered, thats like my favourite gameplay loop. I think both games just provide catch up gear now though :(

One of the main things im doing rn in world is create a new character for each of the weapons, i have over 200 hours just on the sword and shield one (finished the game already)
personally, not a fan of the weapon, so i respect u doing that 😅
(what i do in order to have enough profile slots is family share the game to one of my alts, so i get 3 new free slots)

Sns was always my first pick of weapons. It was because of the ease of use and it had versatility in all forms of element, slash, blunt, and shield. It also had utility uses because it was the only weapon you can use items when having it out.

@@BornOfChaosAndOrder +while it always be a competent (yet underestimated) weapon it feels really powerful in world now. It can do really solid damage while being almost as much on the move as DB while being more precice with dodging, it can easily mount, too.

As a SnS player on my first playthrough I just earned my first Research Commission ticket, what should I spend it on? Options are Mushroom Charm, Handicraft charm.... or something else? (Guard 5?)

I didn't defeat Alatreon. I just took his tail. I highly doubt I'd be able to defeat Alatreon in the 100-hour challenge as there's not enough time to farm up equipment and decos to take it down 😊 you'll see my failure of the quest at the end of the video 💪

Nope, I don't farm geckos for the 100-hour challenge cuz I don't have time. I just use whatever I get and make the best of it lol and I think that's one of the fun parts of the challenge. I'm playing the game with sub-optimal gear, and yet I get to do awesome things! 💪

Tbh sns is easier with controller, because your controller will give you vibration feedback so you know when to do your perfect rush , when the controller vibrate just imidieatly press Y/Tri

As a person who is doing speedruns in mhw and rise w and w/o my team(Gs,sns main) The fact that some people thinks that they can master every Weapon in 100 hrs is hilarious 😂 yes there are different types of weapons and some of them are easier to master in 100 doablelike sns,h/lbg,dbs,lance,hammer but gs,bow,cb,swax not happening u might think u mastered them but in actuality...nope.
