yeah it can be. my top weapons would be great sword, bow, and heavy bowgun specifically with Wyvernsnipe. All those weapons have what I call dopamine attacks, basically attacks that give a rush of dopamine on connecting, like a true charged slash, Dragon Piercer, and Wyvernsnipe.
@@justajackgaming I will say that once you beat the Ice Dragon, her HBG is very good, its called Righteous Varka, is a full power rarity 12, has zero deviation, and wyvern snipe while allowing for solid ammo including every pierce, every blast, every spread, wyvern, and freeze on the side and poison too. I beat the rest of Iceborne with it so I would say if you want a HBG I'd go with that, as zero deviation makes a huge difference in how you feel about an HBG.
I started by randomly finding your 100 hour gunlance video on my recommendeds little did I know I stumbled across the most wholsome man I have ever met in my life keep it up man you rock!
So always apply coatings, otherwise dps will be bad. Arc shot which makes the little spheres fall out of the sky does ko damage, so try to aim it at the head.Dragon piercer travels in a line, so setting up on the tail or head allows multiple hits. Cutting tails isn’t easy with bow, so kudos on figuring it out that fast. Check which bows use which coatings because if a bow has no power coating it will probably be a status bow. Otherwise it’s a power bow and some are a blend of both. Also make sure you keep a ton of coatings in your box .

I almost spat out my drink cause I knew exactly what you meant LOL Also the way you said "Perfect" reminds me so much of the old Street Fighter games, when you win without taking any damage bahaha

People sleep on the Palico partner (I know pros don’t need them) but for the rest of us, plenty of times where they performed better than most teammates! And with the bonus of not making the monsters health go up

as a charge blade main, i feel a teeny tiny bit sad it was the first challenge. you have learned so much and leveled up a lot since then so i know you could crush a CB challenge today even with no knowledge of the weapon great content as always!
I definitely would do better now than I did haha. But I do use the Charge Blade a lot in other content I make! Check out my 100 Hunts in the Guiding Lands video I released last week, I did some sick SAEDs in that one 💪
bow is basically the ranged weapons for melees, it's my 2nd weapontype of choice, but man, the stamina management at the start of a run is atrocious. it's fun seeing someone new getting their way into bow gameplay. keep it up! :)

I started doing this myself, start a new character, only use one weapon while going through the game. I still need to do -Hunting Horn -Lance -Longsword -Both Bow guns But so far Bow has 100% been the most fun. However, i can’t abandon my dual blades
You are gonna have an awesome time with Lance. High mobility, being able to face tank some of the scariest moves in the game(with enough Guard and Guard Up) and constantly doing damage along with one of the best Slinger Bursts with Slinger Thorns making KO's an option on certain monsters...also Spider-Man Counter.
Havent fully watched yet, but the dodge dancing, where you dodge and shoot repeatedly keeping your shot charge up, rocksteady mantle while you dragon pierce to not get cancelled out of it, the aerial shots off the wall do just as much damage as the dragon pierce, the KO set ups with the raining shot, you can deal damage to the tail with regular shots then cut with dragon pierce

Genuinely surprised that you beat the high rank Nerg fight. Bow doesn't have the sheath speed to dodge the dive bomb if you get hit by the roar, leaving you with slotting either enough earplugs to deal with elder dragon roars, or enough points of quick sheath to superman dive the divebomb. With how much the bow is affected by having to slot in those skills instead of stamina management, movement skills or dps skills it's a pretty mean ask imo
Going for Evasion +2/3 is enough to comfortably dodge most roars and attacks with Bow, just have enough Evade Extender for your preferences on positioning.
@@chironthecuddley6144 sure, but for a person playing the game as a relative newbie to bow the timing on the charging sidestep can be a bit awkward. Far better imo to not have the pre-divebomb roar be an insta-cart
I ran bow and insect blade for my first play-through when the game first came out, I quickly figured out that while bow is extremely powerful, the stamina management ruined the weapon for me once you get into the later high rank. Once master rank came out with better optimization for builds with Bow, I went back to it only to find out that MR monsters laugh at your attacks with every weapon 😂
When hunting Stgyian or normal Zoniger can you grab the bugs from their back when you knock them over? Like you can mine the back of urrugan and radobban.
Bow is an absolute DPS MONSTER. Look at what speedrunners do to the poor monsters with it. It probably comes closest to spread HBG out of all weapons, but you have to play perfectly. It's also extremely gear dependant. The difference between a budget bow setup and one with perfect decos is easily 100% damage output. Also, never skip your dash juice.
I'm sure live chat has mentioned it plenty but these games were designed for controller. Capcm didn't really know what to do with the mouse and key so they didn't do the best job there. I'm only a few minutes in but I hope it goes well cause bow is amazingly fun.
If you think bow on val is good you should try the teostra war horn with affliction immunity, it makes the val fight so easy. (if i got some on the names wrong i havnt played world in ages)

I love the bow but I FUCKIN hate the layout of the buttons for ranged weapons. The worst thing is that even after editing it all you cant change everything and it makes you feel so awkward. I really hope wilds fixes it somehow bc I want to play bow but I fpisically get sick when I try to use the layout
Yeah, you're 100% correct. The bindings are completely different to melee weapons for very little reason. And I mean for literally everything, not just having your weapon unsheathed. Clutch Claw, mounting, climbing vines, even your item bar. I spent a lot of time just trying to remember my buttons and what they did as literally everything was different from every other weapon I've learned haha
I am using the bow and I've made it to master rank but Xeno took me 40 minutes to kill... so anyone have any tips on how to use the bow cause clearly I'm doing it very wrong.
We should have a 100 hour longsword now also my screens weird and the fingerprints stay and inputs are made and it may have reported the vid so so so sorry for that if it did just wanna let you know love you man❤😂
the control layout for bow on keyboard and mouse is mostly annoying to get used too, i would of recommended using a controller for bow since the layout in my opinion is much better for this weapon but besides all that i love this video and i would like to see more challenges in the future.
If I had a controller I would maybe try and learn it. But I don't have one haha. Mouse and Keyboard is fantastic for everything so far, just a lot to unlearn and relearn betweeen ranged and melee weapons ;) So glad you enjoyed! Lots more on the way and a bunch finished already!
As a bow main in Rise i feel the Bow is the king of lame/funny kills, it rarely look cool.😅 I'll never forget my first Kushala. just a stray, no longer aiming, arrow to the toe whilest he was high in the sky, leaving. like i am sorry i know he is hated but he deserved better than that.😑

Early stamina management with the bow is a nightmare 😬 once you get that constitution 2 and stamina surge 1 you start to come online

I love the bow but I FUCKIN hate the layout of the buttons for ranged weapons. The worst thing is that even after editing it all you cant change everything and it makes you feel so awkward. I really hope wilds fixes it somehow bc I want to play bow but I fpisically get sick when I try to use the layout
Yeah, you're 100% correct. The bindings are completely different to melee weapons for very little reason. And I mean for literally everything, not just having your weapon unsheathed. Clutch Claw, mounting, climbing vines, even your item bar. I spent a lot of time just trying to remember my buttons and what they did as literally everything was different from every other weapon I've learned haha

I am using the bow and I've made it to master rank but Xeno took me 40 minutes to kill... so anyone have any tips on how to use the bow cause clearly I'm doing it very wrong.
Get those bow charges and dodges worked out! That helps a ton
I know people use MnK for aiming, but the buttons are so much better on controller. It’s not even hard to aim.

the control layout for bow on keyboard and mouse is mostly annoying to get used too, i would of recommended using a controller for bow since the layout in my opinion is much better for this weapon but besides all that i love this video and i would like to see more challenges in the future.
If I had a controller I would maybe try and learn it. But I don't have one haha. Mouse and Keyboard is fantastic for everything so far, just a lot to unlearn and relearn betweeen ranged and melee weapons ;)

As a bow main in Rise i feel the Bow is the king of lame/funny kills, it rarely look cool.😅
I'll never forget my first Kushala. just a stray, no longer aiming, arrow to the toe whilest he was high in the sky, leaving. like i am sorry i know he is hated but he deserved better than that.😑
