    There are 2 more possibilities
    1. He didn't die and just teleported away to save himself. Its kinda hinted that he can teleport when he does a Batman and suprises Odin by appearing behind him in the scene before the Muspelheim mission.
    2. The devs didn't want his body hanging around during the boss fight.

    9:25 you do not watch long enough. If you keep watching and look at the Hammer when Odin grabs it, those blue flakes are still around. I believe Giant magic put him in the Hammer. Remember how Thor puts mead on Mjölnir in the beginning of the game ? I think it is an extension of the Thunder God
    My theory is he actually went into Mjölnir when he died. The games have a theme of spirits being in weapons. We see his body diminish like Fenrirs unlike Baldur,Magni and Heimdell. We see many clues of the weapon “being alive” and Thrud also says “I’ll make you proud dad” before taking the hammer and flying off. What if this is them telling us that Thor is in the hammer and will help Thrud in her journey as a Shield Maiden.
    Ps. Would love some “DLC Theory” videos lol

    7:39 Still, to this day, this scene is that well made that I can't figure it out what Athena truly meant by "Forgive me .. brother." On one hand, she may be referring to Kratos as "brother", so she showed empathy for Kratos' misery. On the other hand, that "brother" could mean Ares, so she is truly sorry for the fact that she stopped Ares from killing Kratos on the day Deimos was kidnapped. Also she may be sorry for aiding Kratos in killing Ares, because it seems Kratos is worse than Ares. The first time I heard this line, Ares came to my mind. For me, the "brother" being Ares just made much more sense in that context.

    • @HitmanHimself
      @HitmanHimself ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Nice Thought, I always thought she was referring to kratos as brother and showing empathy for him. That brother could be for ares aswell but I also doubt she had any love for ares, tho Athena never hated Ares or wanted him dead(Until Ares attacked Athens in GoW1) but Ares always tried to defame her sister and didn't like her as Athena was Zeus' favourite child. But when ares became a nuisance to olympus and attacked her city, she tasked kratos to get rid of Ares.
      So I don't know who she was referring to.. can be either, i incline more on kratos just because the devs might be using that dialogue to indicate that Athena is Kratos' sister..
      Now that u have thought about it being ares, even if game devs didn't intend it to ares initially they might change it and tell that in an interview lol, not eve kidding 😂

    • @alexcogames636

And the devs wont confirm or deny either of these situation for sure 😅, that is the beauty of the situation.

    Kuba, do you think sindri will be able to forgive kratos and atreus? Will he be the vehicle by which the Norse saga ends, maybe involving something from the spark of the world? Sindri is incredibly talented and rightfully pissed at us for the death of brok. It makes me think he might be able to send us away for good and, in his eyes, get revenge.
    This could also work narratively if he separates us from atreus by making vengeance the reason for us 'losing' another child. It could be a way to force kratos into thinking about a bigger picture and thus lead into the higher plane of existence potentially. It could even force him to lash out again and bring back some of that old kratos rage in order to try and get back to midgard.

    I think Thor disintegrated as a result of Gungnir being a bifrost based weapon, getting bifrost on you in combat can potentially cause a large chunk of your health to be destroyed, and we never see the effects of bifrost in any other cutscene, so it may be that it’s supposed to dematerialize things, but they nerfed it in combat sections so the player wouldn’t just be killed in one hit by it.

Secondly Like in the next time it's gonna be Atreus/Loki game where he might go to Egypt through his journey for knowledge and all or something like that but cause he's Loki God Of Mischief he might make some Gods of Egypt angry by tricking them by his magic for some knowledge or something and cause he's no KRATOS that he can defeat 2 whole patheon on his own he than gonna tell KRATOS through someone else that he (Atreus/Loki) is dead or something like that to trick KRATOS to help him as soon as possible but instead KRATOS goes BERSERK and return back to his old form and defeating an another pantheon... But then Atreus will realise that he messed with the wrong person and real bad too and then maybe THOR or ATHENA from Higher Plane Of Existence will enter something like that... still just a fan story nothing more - THE END(Part-1)

    I don't think Thor did enough to redeem himself. Comparing his death with Athena's, Athena made a considerable effort to protect Zeus, going so far as to sacrifice herself. Thor on the other hand, had only refused Odin which is not so much an action but an inaction.
    As for the "rules" of ascending into higher plane, I think it has to do with whether or not a God has been good throughout their life until they died or redeemed themselves in their final act of selflessness. Athena obviously sacrificed herself, so she ascended. As for Thoth, he's mostly known for keeping balance between the gods, like when Ra and Apep we're fighting over the sun. Even specifically helping Isis resurrect Set, so I believe Thoth was able to ascend due to being a good God

    Maybe the Higher plane of existence is a recruitment place made by a super mega boss god that recruits gods to destroy all other pantheons so the new unified pantheon takes control over the world. The question that arises is why not the main gods In control of pantheons. The most powerful ones would be too greedy and want all the power to themselves. The next best thing is worthy servants of those gods. The super mega boss god would convince the servants that it was all Kratos’ fault for their deaths. Kratos might be one of the few that could rival that power with an army of his own filled with gods and that would make him a target. Kratos went from mortal to god god killer.

    I feel like its not more just sacrifice overall but more like redeeming yourself. when thor stood up against odin i believe that was his redemption. like kratos said to him before he died "for the sake of our children" and that's what thor cared for the most -well, with Thrud anyway- but i believe its through redemption and overcoming what ever "evil", "darkness", or "corruption" has kept you bound. again it's just my theory on things so please don't shit on me for it. i know theres plenty of die hard fans out there who'd love to. anyways i would like to see thor again.

    That makes me think that the higher plane of existence is actually a place where worthy people who don't have an afterlife to go to can go. So we could possibly find Brok there at some point if it isn't restricted to only Gods.

Could tie up some loose ends and be a unique twist in how these games usually play out. In that scenario I would like the Celtic gods to invade. Maybe this could be where Thor is brought back.

    Thanks for the shoutout Kuba! I do want to address the topic of whether or not you consider Thor's sacrifice a "selfless sacrifice" - here's an answer you can get behind:
    "Its a fair argument to say it wasn't really a sacrifice. It wasn't as straightforward as Athena's. But after his fight with Kratos, Kratos tells him, we must be better, for the sake of our children. In the end when he stands up against Odin, his change of heart, he died for Thrud & Sif, to be better, for the sake of his children. Remember what Brok said, it's not the "form" of a thing that matters, but the "nature" of a thing. His form was that of a Destroyer, but his nature, a man seeking forgiveness. (Its not the outside that matters, but whats on the inside) I think in the end, he changed his nature and it wasn't for him, but for his family. That's just the way I saw it anyways. The way he died and what happens to him was convincing enough for me."

  • @bmg6229
    @bmg6229 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Considering he was repented of his actions at the end and his Jotun heritage
    Maybe he isn't directly in the Higher plane, but his soul has been saved by his Hammer
    Mjolnir saved him, as he actually likes him, and protects him during the first battle and even during the Bar Fight against Ingrid
    Maybe Mjolnir is actually Thor at the end

  • @Jaxvvs

    Cory said that gods who enter the higher plane are the ones who make selfless acts, which would be thor standing up to odin for his family and to protect them in which case he sacrficed himself for a reason other then himself. (my interpretation)
