Good day champ, can I come n work with u, I'm very hard working, good learner n very respectful
My location now is Ghana
Ben you are the man you make this look so easy thanks for these videos
Glad to help!
you are the best for fords ,hello from idaho!
Very cool video. You have a calm voice that I am sure makes following your tutorial that much nicer.
Thanks, I'm glad it helped!
Perfect explanation. Thanks for taking the time to show your work. Awesome just magnificent.
I'm glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching
Very helpful you deserved a like and a comment and definitely a sub. I feel 100% more confident about doing this job
Top notch installation video! It is much appreciated! (Torque info below)
In addition to the information provided in the video.
1) Place both shift fork assemblies in their proper location.
2) Tighten the four (4) Torx fasteners, common to the fork assemblies and transmission, finger tight.
3) Install the two clutch actuator motor assemblies using the eight (8) inverted Torx fasteners, finger tight, ensuring splines align. Per the manual, “NOTICE: The clutch actuator motor splines must be aligned with the clutch actuator and the motor must be flush to the transmission clutch housing before tightening the clutch actuator fasteners to specification. Failure to follow this notice will result in damage to the actuator and motor.”
4) Torque the four (4) Torx fasteners, common to the fork assemblies and transmission, to 19 Nm
5) Remove the clutch motor to allow for the clutch locks to be unlocked after clutch and damper unit installation.
6) Align the markings and torque the four (4) inverted Torx fasteners, common to the fork springs, to 26 Nm.
7) Torque the eight (8) inverted Torx fasteners, common to the clutch actuator motor assemblies, to 5 Nm.
Thanks for posting that information!
Thank for you the awesome video!
I appreciate the in depth walk through. I will most def use the leaf blower to clean this thing up, but a ribeye would cook better in there!
Hahaha glad to help! Throw 2 steaks in!
I remember when you just hit 1K subs. I'm so happy to see you're now over 5K subs! Congrats, Ben. Keep doing God's work out here :)
Thanks! I'm so happy the channel has grown
This video is the best I've seen for this job 👌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻
I'm glad it was helpful to you! Thanks for watching
Hi , I want to switch clutches will I need to reset a second hand clutch after reinstalling
@noahmoyo5645 yes, if it's not already reset. Send pictures on discord or Facebook (group) of the clutch and I'll tell you if it's reset or not
Thanks for showing this video, and helping us save
You're very welcome
“like a Pleb… I Don’t know what that word means.” Subscribed right away. Great Videos Man Keep it up
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
The transmission has to be on parking when you put on the 9 pm ??
Great video!
Before I attempt to pull the transmission I thought maybe I would ask here about my issue. My car will often not upshift from 3rd to 4th. After driving for 5-10 minutes the car will usually shift perfectly normal. This seems to coincide with the traction control light coming on. When the light comes on, the car will upshift like normal. Ford just replaced the TCM last week. I replaced the shift actuators today . The shift forks weren't stuck when I checked them. I cleaned up all of the grounds. I'm at a loss of what could be causing this.
Thanks. A well-done video. All necessary information presented .
Thank you!
I removed the electronic throttle body. I found it made things a little easier with dealing with flywheel nuts, the starter, and the shift cable.
you are good man. thank you for sharing
Happy to help!
Thank you. I'm trying to troubleshoot my transmission. I just bought a TCM.
You're welcome. If you need any more help, I have a discord and Facebook group
You are the king of the man. You have no jealousy, no hiding information, so I congratulate you. But come to our country, if someone knows something, he dies and doesn't teach it to anyone else, he takes it with him to the grave. That's why you're developing and not standing still. Good job.
Thanks! I'm glad it helped. No sense in hiding info!
Thanks. I might do my neighbor's if Ford will decide the clutch and TCM is not warranted anymore - only 85k KMS on it. No special jig needed 😊 I can breathe easier. Thanks again.
Awesome work Amigo 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I'm glad it helped!
Wonderful, job👍
Another great tutorial!!! Thanks Ben.
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
18:38 is that damage to the inner race I see from ponding on it. So there is a spline a little way behind that bearing Hopefully that is not the reason that it takes so much pounding. Lets just say I have questions Thanks for all your help. I do really appreciate it
When putting in the last large snap ring you talk about the “nub” on fiestas lines up the white line at the 9’ o clock position and that on focus it’s at the 6oclock position . I was doing a focus clutch replacement and both the old and the new clutch the “nub” lines up with the white line at the 9’clock position? Either way it shifts like a dream now. Thank you for all your knowledge my friend.
I'm glad your car shifts good now! That's just something I noticed when getting clutches over the counter at the parts department.
Really great help! Where do you buy the Fiesta/Focus snap rings, hardware, seals, etc.??
Looking for a trusted source!!
The LuK repset comes with the snap rings, hardware etc. But you can also get a ford seal kit EV6Z-7052-C (focus) which has the hardware and snap rings
When i remove these clutches i just take the snap rings off and dump the trans on the ground and the clutch comes out on its own. Very quick this way lol. I hate setting up the special tools
Spinning one of the clutch forks is funner
Good idea lol. I'll have to try that
Hey ben awesome video!, I did have something kinda concerning i went to activate the transmission and i only got about 3 clicks out of clutch A and nothing out of clutch B did i do something wrong where i have to pull it apart again.
If both snap rings are seated it's probably fine, sometimes they don't click or only a few times
Awesome, thanks a lot 👍
You're welcome!
awesome job
Happy to help!
First off thanks for the video. Was looking for what tool I’d need for the spring nuts so learning that an 8 mil works is very helpful. And also you said you don’t know what pleb means. It actually is Roman, and was used to refer to the common free citizens of Rome. You can think of it like the working class, not much in the way of political power and pleb is short for plebeian. The other end of Roman society were patricians, wealthier citizens born into power. They were social classes and were hereditary I.e. you inherited them so if your father was a plebeian you were one too. So the saying “like a pleb” is saying like a simpleton or commoner. Most people use the saying to usually mean like an idiot.
you're welcome, I'm glad it helped. I appreciate you explaining that!
Use old axle straps as handles they fit perfectly.
Thank you!
Thanks!
You're very welcome! Thanks so much for your support!
Thanks
When putting shift to reverse or neutral it shaking? Do you think it is shift fork?
nice vid ty for it.
You're welcome!
Another important question for you actually very important DO I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FLYWHEEL?
Ben, It looks like I broke Actuator A clutch fork spring by doing the brake cleaner and lube method. Would I be able to replace the clutch fork A only and reinstall the original low mileage clutch assembly? How does the actuator A and B spring socket get released? Is there need to unlock procedure?
Hi, you need to lock the clutch before install. I have a video for that I uploaded last week. Yes you can replace 1 fork and clean the other. But that other one can fail in the future
Hey man, awesome set of videos for these. I also think these are really good cars and transmissions, just a little misunderstood haha
My wifes 2014 has made it to 200k but its time for a clutch at this point. It's had this low pitch vibration for a long time now too, really loud, so I'm going to do all the engine and trans mounts at the same time, being sure to watch out for the black and white bolts
I've been able to follow along with your videos for removing the transmission. All If have left is one bell housing bolt and the transmiaionn mounting bracket. I am stuck until I find a transmission jack or engine lift at the moment. The clutch is still in the mail anyway.
Your videos on this subject are a goldmine.
A couple questions about reinstallation I haven't seen adressed yet.
When bolting the clutch back to the flywheel, I'm assuming I'm good to put the little piece of rubber behind the strater back in so the clutch bolts aren't dropped inside the bell housing
And is there no way at all to relearn the clutch at home? If I do have to tow it, can I at least crank the car to be sure things look correct before towing? Or should I just wait for the clutch to be relearned before I even attempt to run the engine at all?
Thanks in advance
I'm glad the videos helped. You will leave the rubber piece out until you go to put the starter back in because it blocks access to the clutch studs. And you can do a clutch relearn with forscan. I've got a video on that. As well as a video on torquing the clutch nuts
@BigBensCarsAndCycles Awesome! Thanks, I'll look for those 2 videos
Hello Mr. Ben, I here again to keep picking your brain. We have been saving for the new cluth kit for my daughters Ford Focus. There are different options from Amazon to EBAY,, to Ford original OME, but I wanted your recommendation as I value your expert advice.
Thank you
Happy to help. I think that the LuK repset is the best choice. It's oem parts for cheaper than the dealer. It comes with everything except for transmission fluid, the axle strap and ball joint pinch hardware (if you want to replace that)
Hi i have question i have a 2013 fiesta 1.0 ecoboost with that transmission and the transmission works fine and is still smooth but i have a like scraping sound coming from it has anyone had a similar problem like that not wanting to have that checked yet until i have a slight idea what it could be but i think something is wrong with the clutch and not the gears because it still shifts fine
Very valueble information
I'm glad it was helpful
Hello. Excellent job bud but at the end of the video you said clutch re-learn position? Can you explain sorry my first time doing this
Hi, with forscan or another capable scan tool, click transmission, clutch adaptive learn and follow the steps. I also have videos on that on my focus transmission playlist
The Amazon link for the clutch assembly… will it work for a 2019 ford fiesta Se ?
Yes, it will
Thanks Ben
You're welcome!
Is there a triangle mark next to a clutch bolt that needs to go in the hole closet on yellow dot mark on the flex plate when doing the 6 flex plate bolts ?
Correct
Mine seems stuck when I hammer it down like it don’t go down at all like the clutch is stopping on something I don’t want to hammer to hard
When I removed my A actuator I noticed the fork is shifted up and not centered in the hole….would this mean I have to remove transmission to fix this? I’m getting a code that that cutch is stuck…getting transmission overheating messages.
Thank you for these videos. I’m thinking about taking this on.
You're welcome, glad to help..yes it sounds like the fork is damaged
Hello wonder if you can help me I have a 2018 Ford fiesta diesel manual six speed 11,000 miles after an hour of driving the car every night in town for my job the car starts to shudder when releasing the clutch in first gear or reverse. This happens every time after an hour of driving. Any ideas what this could be please thank you
Hi, it could be a sticking slave cylinder. In that case, you'd need a clutch job and a new master & slave cylinder. You can start with flushing the clutch hydraulic lines with new fluid. And the brakes if it shares a reservoir
Ben, when you install the new clutch do you have to reset the car, computer. Would disconnecting the battery work if you don't have a scan tool. Thanks Big Ben
No, all you need to do is the clutch adaptive learn with a scan tool. You can limp the car to a dealer and have them do that. Or get forscan on your laptop to do the touch point learn
Thanks Big Ben, you really do care about helping people, not a lot people like you so glad I found you. Keep them coming
Disconnecting the battery doesn't work and you don't really have to reset anything actually.
I just replaced my clutch and when I released the actuators I heard the “click” on the first actuator but no click on the second. Do I install the trans and hope for the best or do I have to remove the clutch and start over????
Did you turn them around 10 to 12 times counter clockwise each? You can roll the dice and try it, it should be fine. Or buy a clutch reset tool for 100 bucks on amazon. Lmk if you need a link or my video on doing that
Nice!
Thanks!
Sir, when we are changing dual clutch of Ford dps6 then do we have to change all parts in clutch housing?
You can clean and reuse everything but they're issue prone and good to replace
Hello sir,
Please help quick question. After I install the forks and bearings. I put the clutch down but it doesn’t spin freely. Any opinion as to why?
Much appreciated sir thank you if you have a minute to answer.
Can you make sure the clutch is locked (reset) you can post pics of the clutch in my discord or fb group. Discord would be quicker
Dude, get yourself a box of 7 mil. or 9 mil. gloves from Harbor Freight. They're having a sale this week/end and they're heavily discounted. You can ask the staff to try one on before you buy, too. I was using 5 mil. nitrile gloves and they never last. Got a box of 9 mil. and I've already used them multiple days.
And, if you don't know already, to get them off and reuse them, blow air into them at the base of your palm and they come off pretty easily.
Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately these are what my work provides us. They keep getting cheaper, year by year too! lol.
Hi
I bought after market torque converter that doesn’t has the align mark on it
Flywheel has it but torque converter doesn’t how should I figure it up and align to flywheel correctly?
I've seen several focuses with misaligned clutches and it's never caused a problem, I wouldn't worry about it
The car vibrates and some said it’s from not align the torque converter with flywheel.the engine mount is new
Hello Mister , I hope you are well.
I have a problem with my ford ecopsort automatic double clutch. I'm changing the forks but after changing, the speeds are no longer stable and it goes in all directions.... did I miss a few things. I'm worried that it won't be able to drive anymore because it's just the A fork that was broken but I changed both and the mechanic since then despite the reprogramming it's moving in the gearbox the gears are jumping or it's the reverse gear that's not working not... Please help me.
cannot reverse or drive
Should I also change the clutch? I await your advice.
What fault codes are you getting. And did you remove the shipping clips from the forks
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thank you Big Ben for your feedback, I would have liked to send you the image but I will write you the error codes:
- P073E:00-6C Unable to shift into reverse
- P073E:00-6C Impossible to shift into 1st gear
- P073E:00-6C Impossible to shift into 2nd gear
- P073E:00-6C Impossible to shift into 3rd gear
- P287B:00-64 No learning of range A calibration
Yes we removed the shipping protections..
Knowing me I would definitely mess this up, and right now I don't have $3000 to fix mine. It's starting to studder as soon as I accelerate, then it's fine.. would I be able to just spray some wd40 and or break cleaner where the actuators are located and cross my fingers?
Yes if the fork is sticking and causing missed shifts that can help as a temporary solution. If it's only a clutch shudder, it won't help. You can drive the car hard to lessen clutch shudder
Thank you so much sir, much appreciated 🙏
Hey ben, my luk kit came with the snap rings and gear already in place, do i disassemble it to follow what you did? Or do i leave it together?
Hi, you can remove and reuse the bigger snap ring that comes pre installed
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles sweet thanks for the quick response!
Wait if I pull that snap ring off won't I have to relock the clutch? @@BigBensCarsAndCycles
@promethieos1875 no, the clutch only needs to be locked once you've unlocked it
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles alright, again I appreciate it! Your videos have been fantastic help!
What is the second snap ring index for? I installed the snap ring but dont see the little nub like yours
There should be a nub, but if not don't worry about it, just put it together. Just make sure the snap ring is seated
1:22 "you will need to buy a special tool to re-lock it" is WRONG. One can and I have done a few now with the bigger throw bearing ring and a couple of 2x4's, all by myself!
Interesting!

Did the problem begin after installing the new actuators? If so warranty them. If not replace the clutch and forks
Try cleaning the grounding points. Beside and under the battery, under the air filter, and under the carpet on top of the drivers-side door sill. Take them off, sand them up, re-attach, and get some die-electric grease on top of them.
What's the code mean or points to?
Do all the Luk sets come preloaded?

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles your knowledge is a gift. Thank you

Is there any way to know if clutch is unlocked properly other than listening for a clunk sound ? Can you take actuator motors out and retry to unlock clutch if trany already installed back on the car?
When the clutches are unlocked, the clutch will spin 360 degrees smoothly. When it's locked it'll stop at a certain point. Yes you can turn them in the vehicle. And either way, when the tcm commands the clutch to apply, it'll unlock it by itself. So it's not really needed anyway
The transmission has to be on parking when you put on 9 ??

I have a 2017 Fird Feista SE Non-turbo. This is my wife's car and I do take care of it/baby it. It started acting up about two months ago, while driving it seems like the brakes would come on by themselves eventually bringing the car to a stop. If you let it set for an hour or so it would be ok but would do it again 30 minutes or so later. This is a great video but I sure hope this isn't my clutch. Strange because I have both front calipers off and they were a blank to get off and when I start the car and push the brakes neither piston moves. I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.
