FYI, there's no cargo tie downs because the truck was classified as a "tractor-truck". That classification allows you to not be subject to the 65' nose to tail length of your rig but changes it to trailer length only. But with that classification, you cannot have the capability to carry any cargo on the truck.
I have the same setup, when loaded heavy the rear fender bracket will bottom out on the leaf spring way before the bump stop will. Tool boxes will fill with water when truck is being washed or it rains. The bolts holding the tool boxes arent water tight. Drill a couple holes inside the front of the boxes to let it drain.
I feel like maybe strapping one of those little Honda Generators to either the spot on the side of the fuel tank or the back would work good if said person wants power when stopped without idling the truck.
Had the same setup. From the same place. They use the cheapest material. That hotshot setup wont look pretty for long. Best place that does hothot setups is Carolina custom products. They are more expensive but worth it and good quality.
@@Jacie_HughesI’ve had hitch crafters, so I would know. Yes it works but it looks ugly after some time. Also most people don’t want to pay up and get a nicer/better quality setup. If you don’t care how your setup gonna look in a few weeks/months then go for it.
I had virtually the same setup built on my F550 at a fab shop in Inverness FL. 103 gallon ATI fuel tank and similar fenders (wish I had yours...) YES! you need some angle iron or other support inside those side boxes. Mine started cracking around the bolt holes at about 10k miles. Nice truck!
When you have a truck bed you are subject to length laws in certain states but when you don’t have a bed your considered a tractor/trailer and the length laws don’t apply to you
The more and more I see these 5th gens they are growing on me. Currently got a 08 mega with a g56. Not sure how I feel about the autos though lol. Just gotta test drive one and see I guess lol.
I agree but that glitter gun high pressure fuel pump (CP4 pump I believe) is a no go for me. I would not purchase one until they figure that major issue out.
The "catwalk" looks clean, but why rely on "anchor points" and "bungee cords" when it'd be so easy to incorporate rails into it? Nothing obtrusive or heavy - maybe something made out of 1" OD tubing that wraps around the perimeter and is about 1/2 to 2/3 the height of the auxiliary fuel tank that consists of 2 or 3 horizontal tubes with vertical bracing every 18" or so....
Wow! Now that’s really nice my guy! I gotta get the info of the guys who’ve done the work. If that’s cool? I’m getting two of F-550’s for my co. I would really appreciate it my brother!
I liked your preview of the truck although if it was mine I would have cut it off behind tires and catwalk should come out over tires with big mudflaps with side rails then more useable space and the over length ticket he will get (65 foot) wouldn't be a issue.
Overlength ticket (65') doesnt apply to cab n chassis. I run a 2020 5500 very similar. It's considered a tractor and trailer which allows up to 75'. If you have a truck bed it's a pickup and you are limited to 65'....
The only problem I see is that fuel line laying on the tank, that electrical cord coming through the diamond plate with no grommet and that storage box doesn’t have enough support, and for the money he spent on that he could have bought a low mileage Peterbilt 579 or KW T680
I cant say much on that topic. I haven't tried enough different ones to tell you. But I use 100 percent bigtex. Serves me well. Pj used to be there own and they made more stout trailers. Now they are owned by the same guy.
hey i am located in central NJ. i have a ram3500 dully 2023. i would like to get a similiar set up done for my truck, so i can attach 3 car take 3 NON CDL trailer? any chance you can help me with with? anyone you can refer too?
That's not a pick up truck. Its a tractor as in semi tractor. This truck is configured for pulling, if he had a pick up truck box it could haul cargo and not be a tractor. Its a commercial classification.
FYI, there's no cargo tie downs because the truck was classified as a "tractor-truck". That classification allows you to not be subject to the 65' nose to tail length of your rig but changes it to trailer length only. But with that classification, you cannot have the capability to carry any cargo on the truck.
I think those rules are old. Its 80" now

Mine were side bolted with the previous setup they used I guess, so I didn’t get water in mine. Maybe silicone, or rubber washers?
Where can i buy this set up thank you

How much for a setup like that one

Such terrible quality. I guess that’s why so many customers are returning 🤔

That's one awesome truck very clean and professional it should keep the DOT away 🙂🙋♂️🇬🇧
You will be surprised DOT’s are pigs

I'd sure change out that hose coming out of the tank.
I based the mods I did on my 5500 RV hauler on this video. Thanks. It tows great!
What fifth wheel is that? I can't find one for a cab and chassis
It’s from Hitch Crafter
I don’t like losing the bed, but you can always buy a custom steal bed
Mike Hunt I prefer the bed too.
When you have a truck bed you are subject to length laws in certain states but when you don’t have a bed your considered a tractor/trailer and the length laws don’t apply to you
Mike PDX that makes sense
Mike PDX wow, had no idea there where length laws on regular trucks 🤨 idea how long is to long?
Depends on the state you drive through. U would have to check the laws in every state

@@bigcountry9457 The recall has been issued at this point (Jan 2022) but no parts are available. FYI. They have at least acknowledged the problem.
Nice 👍🏻 uplift. Can you mention who makes the kit? Thanks 🙏
I would add a chain rack behind the cab foe even better look and would much prefer the catwalk and tool boxes aluminum

Can you tell me how many inches in that rear plastic fenders? Or where can I order it?
What kit did he get for the diamond plating on the chassis ?

where did you tie in the 3/8 fuel line ? did you run it to the filler neck hose or what ?
Talk about a dedicated tow rig

What do you do for work? I have a 2015 3500 dodge ram 6.7 and I do car hauling but I am thinking about trading it in for a bigger 5500 or 4500 chasis.
Why not get a single axle semi. Built to haul such loads.

Can anybody tell me why the 4500 and 5500 Cummins is detuned???
Mike Hunt, short answer is longevity.
JP 86 depends on who you hire I guess. Though I still feel they should offer the standard HO for guys who hot shot or work for themselves
Mike Hunt yeah I wish I had that option. The detuned motor is definitely noticeable.
Like one guy said longevity. These 4500 and 5500 models are actually working day in day out when a 2500 or 3500 is more of a personal use
I would get rid of those zip screw
i think you need to move around faster while pointing things out. just saying
janky hoopty
