1:43 From what I've experimented, each of the pink number blocks from the toad set offer coins on their own, but give you additional coins when all three are collected within the time frame
Kinda like the Red Coin blocks in later sets.

Its really a shame that you didn't do the super-coin glitch by clipping a dry bones into the ground below a used question mark block. When you got the P-block active, Mario can rack up 100+ jumps. Better luck next time.

I actually figured out a pretty weird bug when i first got my Mario set. I turns out you can farm coins if you basically rub Mario against the lego floor. It senses the movement but Mario moves so rapidly he spams you with coins. So you basically dont need cat Mario to get infinite coins. A possible run that could beat your score is by getting both stars to take out the high coin count enemies then collect a timer bonus and start rubbing Mario. I haven't tried it yet but it could actually work and it may be possible to go over the coin count you achieved.

I like that you refer to physical add-ons as DLC.
I think the most efficient way ti get coins is by using the spinning thing in the starter set, and when you only get 1 coin at a time, jump off and you can keep getting loads more coins, the Time/Question block since you can get more time and coins which can increase the total, the P-Switch because it's an easy coin strat where you can get an insane amount of coins, and many more things

Nathaniel, there are two ways to get more coins than you did here.
372 coins is huge. However, that method is with almost all of the sets used. So, I bring to you two different ways to get more coins.
1st way: This way is worse than the other way. Spend almost all of your money on the Mario LEGO sets, and use more of the blocks to get more coins.
2nd way: This way is WAY more efficient than the first one. Grab the extra time from the extra time blocks. After you do that, use the piranha plant to get the 12 coins, since is only one hit. The final thing you do is...spam cat Mario with the question mark block. This will allow you to get constant coins as well as extra time and a chance to get the star. When you get the star, use it for the boo, the gray block boss, and the friends. Right after you do that, continue your cat and question mark block spamming. If there is a bug and you get another star, do the same thing as before. Keep repeating the thing as above. If you end up running out of time, go to the flagpole and collect the coins you got.
If these two ways weren’t efficient enough, then I don’t know what is.
Welp, time to redo this speedrun, but with ALL the new stuff!
Also, quick note about Fire Mario: Activating a fireball will charge up his next attack, so if you shoot 4 fireballs, then stomp once on Bowser Jr., he'll be OHKO'd(One Hit Knocked Out).
Man, this speedrun is going to be optimised to heck! Can't wait to see someone break the 999 coins barrier!

The "tiki head" (Stone-Eye) is great to have since 1 stomp gives you a ton of coins
I think the only possible thing that could improve the run is based on my following findings: I noticed you hit the ? Block multiple times to get the roulette before returning to “side-of-the-desk spamming”, however the ? Block only requires 1 tap to activate, and this is proven as I have done this myself. I belive you could get more block guys and more “side-of-the-desk spamming” coins, improving the score as long as you get around the same/better RNG from the ? Block. I would attempt a run myself but alas, I sadly have only 2 sets (starter/boomer bill barrage) so I don’t have any of the B E E G B O I S (eh? Anyone get that from that one video? No? Just me?). All that besides, this was an AMAZING vid and I can’t wait to see more. Until next time!
