I've seen this so many times already but on every rewatch I cry again 😭 Rory is one of my favourite Doctor Who characters ever and this episode HURTS; the fact that he's not only dying but Amy also forgets about him just makes this much more painful
The doctor cannot cross their own timelines,. It was a shock to see Rory die, made me sad all over again. Brilliant editing. It was a clever plot twist for Amy to forget Rory , him being erased.

Although no companion had died in New Who before Rory died here, there had been 2 or 3 (depending on who you count as a companion) who died during the classic era... and none of them died in the final story of a season. 🤔 I suppose the reason for killing off Rory mid-season might be that they can then explore what happens to Amy, which wouldn't work the same way if they did it in a finale and the audience then doesn't see the show again for many months. I don't think the Doctor reminding Amy about Rory would've helped, as she would've just forgotten about him again two minutes later if not sooner. We basically saw that happen in "Flesh and Stone" with the soldiers going off to investigate the Crack.

The Silurian was a geologic era on Earth from the end of the Ordovician Period, at 443.8 million years ago to the beginning of the Devonian Period 419.2 Mya. This was a long time before any vertebrate land live was around, so I'm not sure why they were called that. These people seem more closely related to dinosaurs and they came several hundred million years after the Silurian. In any case, I really like these guys.

It was fun to have him for a little bit, I really liked his relationship with Amy. The second part is really cool, tho. I am excited as hell for the next episode, one of the best episodes Doctor Who ever put out, just because a couple of moments that REALLY hits you. This journey has been really fun, I'm really happy that you decided to keep watching the show! I was binge watching, only decided to watch the series back in 2021 or the very end of 2020 and I was binge watching, so I never really felt like I wanted to stop after Tennant, I was just curious to see what else they were going to do and I don't think they disappointed, especially later on... I mean, for a long time, my favorite Doctor was 12 (now is the 4th, because I started the classic and I'm still working my way through it). Thanks to the specials you decided to continue this lovely series and also share your experiences with people who also love the show and I'm so grateful for it... Seen you enjoying the show makes me really happy, I'm having fun, you're having fun and others are having fun following this journey. It's just been great all around, thank you for your effort.
Ok, getting worried as your talking like he won't be back!😭 And you were right about the next episode, the writing was excellent and it definitely had some hard hitting moments. I'm so glad I started watching it again too, honestly it was everyone's comments about how good it is that made me decide to watch it. The original plan was to watch some of the newer Marvel shows like Echo. That is so interesting, is the classic who easy to get into? Aww I am having fun and I'm glad you are too! I really appreciate you watching it with me and your comments💖
@@ReactandRamble classic who has some good ones and some very slow ones due to it being 1960 TV. If you can find “an unearthly child”- the pilot episode, it will give you a feel for it. The BBC pulled it due to legal issues with the scriptwriter’s son but you should be able to find it somewhere. Other than that I’d recommend a smattering of episodes from each doctor. I’d seen classic who with the 4th doctor when I was a teen, but I didn’t watch any others. When I started watching modern Who I went back and watched classic and loved how many things were the same in the doctor’s characterization. But the shows do have a 1960s serial pacing and fx

Oh, yes... 10 is a great episode and one of my favorites, because you have a bit of history, you have a bit of fun and you also have the addression of a very serious problem. That moment with the Doctor commenting about the good things and bad things at the end of the episode stuck with me. I hope you get to Echo at some point then (but I'll say, I think I only watched one episode and me, personally, would've been more excited for Agents of SHIELD, a show that would demand a crazy amout of editing and, being sincere here, probably wouldn't make your channel grow that much, but it's a personal favorite of mine. Hit Monkey is also great tho, it's animated and it's a Marvel series that not many people talk about. If you have the time to watch it on your own, I think you really should do it). I'm really glad you decided to continue, it's been really nice to follow your journey so far and we are not even in my favorite bits on the show yet, haha. We'll miss you bud. From now on during the Moffat era, any companion who has a significant other, and they come along on the adventures, but get killed, it's known as "getting Rory'd." Like, "Oh no, the companions' beloved love interest went ahead and got themselves Rory'd while they were tagging along with them and the Doctor on some adventure or other."
Yeah, the end really made the episode! I think if Amy’s choice wasn’t an episode Rory’s death wouldn’t have been as painful to watch because we got to see how much Rory actually meant to Amy😭

It’s amazing there were no spoilers (at least that I saw). It was a shock. The doctor has had companions die in the past but it’s rare.

This was a meh episode until the end. Wow. I warned you that the episode Amy’s choice was important (read- foreshadowing what was to come)😢
