Great conversation! NYT's coverage of India is also odd - they highlight negative stories always, but if there's anything positive that comes out, it barely gets a mention. For eg. the Delhi pollution gets visibility, but nothing on India's Hypersonic Missile test which is also an important achievement. Whereas the 1440 newsletter covers everything equally well.
I was speaking with my uncle (lives in the US) about this and he pointed out something interesting. The US immigration system has TWO components, country-caps and the composition of the immigrants themselves. He says “Rather than removing country caps, why not reform it to prioritize employment based/skilled immigrants rather than family members? Limit family members to spouses and children.” The tech and science salaries in the US are way higher than in Canada and the UK. Please address this in one of your episodes since the salaries are half of what you can get paid in the US. Regarding Wired, Nature and Scientific American, there IS a way to be political. Yes don’t do racial justice stuff. Second, it’s possible to write articles critiquing specific POLICIES (such as Pro nuclear vs Anti nuclear, Pro IVF etc). This way they can be grounded scientifically while making sure they’re responsible socially 🤷♀️
Great episode guys. You put into words what a lot of people are feeling. Sometimes it feels like people like us(like you) are not allowed to have an opinion otherwise we get a ton of hate or get called names. Cautiously hopeful is accurate.
Hi Guys, watched the whole and like it! Your concerns related to legal immigration, I wish you could have heard names like STEPHEN MILLER who is going to create the legal immigration policy! I just wish it is taken to the hands of ppl like Jared Kushner and elonmusk but I believe that not what happens provided we have evidence from the first term! These will be tough times for indian techies and this policy could determine USA's place in the tech world!
I felt Aarthi to be more natural, talking from her heart

Big fan of the convergence of Dinesh D'Souza and the brown SV folks. Was a matter of time
I started an open source DOGE project. Looking for people to contribute. First use case will be simplifying the IRS
Needed this, nice visuals looks eye pleasing, continue this, makes it easy to watch
