- I am not a professional TH-camr but over the last one year, I have got good response on TH-cam after making series of videos of safety in cars, my VW Polo and promoting other brands that promote safety i.e Tata & Skoda. This has encouraged me to educate more people about Safety & Quality.
Many people who own these cars share same thoughts. They leave positive comments and share my videos, but Dr. Pushkar has went one step ahead. He contacted me on Instagram and after sharing contact numbers, he shared some videos with me where he has reviewed his 9 years old VW Polo. He wanted to share the ownership review with viewers to educate potential buyers about his ownership experience, safety, expenses and other maintenance issues.
His ownership mostly have remained fuss free. Service costs annually comes around at the cost of 9 to 10 Thousand.
He has changed his tyres once, disk brakes once, clutch plates and shocker overhaul has been done once. It is quite nominal as he confessed that he has handled the car roughly. He has faced some issues regarding low ground clearance but overall he is happy that he preferred Polo over Swift/i20 in 2011.
He seems to very happy with the way car has held itself after 1 lac kilometers and 9 years. He is happy with the paint quality, roof rigidity, heavy doors, engine pickup, build quality, interior plastic quality, rubber beading, steering feedback while driving, front space, stability on highways, mileage and service behavior by VW staff.

I own a polo GT TDI. I bought it in 2015 and at that time everyone said i am a fool to buy a hatch for 10 lakhs. There are hardly any GT TDIs sold in India but I can tell you how satisfied i have been with my car. Its a beast and I love how it stays planted on the road. All the best VW and keep going!

I’m a surgeon driving my VW polo since 2011 upgraded to 2014 model was polo tdi h/l.completely satisfied with ownership and it had ticked only 75000km in 6 years.I purchased VW vento for my father who is also a surgeon in 2012 now it had ticked 100000 plus and running strongly.Wish more Germans to come home.

santosh kumar I am using polo since 2011 over 1 lakh driven and my driving is always above 100-120 km with full passengers and Luggage . Never ever experienced Breakdown . Yes, service cost is high mostly labour so better u make a friend in VW servicing center and he will help u to reduce cost. But cost is once in a year and u will love to spend it. In 2020 still no sedan can beat vento and rapid . Even upcoming honda city which can be close rival , Forget about verna and ciaz

We should first look after Our Safety rather than looking after Mileage and cost. In the last, I am also planning to buy VW Polo Highline 2020 model with 1.0 TSI engine for unleashing the power and Drive comfort of VW.

No Sir, rather get it serviced every year as it will cost around 8000-9000. With annual packages, they might do your service with half heart & may skip important checks. I would not suggest you spending 40K upfront.

People burning fuel in lakhs of kms.. Please use public transport if possible.. This will reduce some pollution and saves fuel.. Some Money in our pockets as well thank you..
Is the ground clearance ok for all road for long drive, actually I am planning to buy 2020 polo 1.0 tai highline plus.
I took my Polo 2015 petrol to Shoja Himachal and at jalory pass at more than 10000 feet.. Not once it got bottomed out.. No issues with ground clearance.. Rather its better than many others.. It comes with underbody protection

I have test driven Polo Tsi highline and just loved everything. Only concern is high cost of parts. I am fine with maintenance cost of 8-9K, but parts ka sunke I am very concerned. Hence, considering Ford Freestyle Flair Petrol as well as the second choice. Please suggest.
You get 4 years standard warranty & 2 years extended warranty so I believe that is enough for peace of mind.

I am the owner of POLO car and met with an accident (a normal sideline collision) with i20 a few months back. It cost 25k of repairing cost for i20 owner and just a normal dent on my car.

Below 10k once a year for service.. Break pads got changed at 60k km... Its just 10 to 20 percent more than hyundai or Maruti

VW 1 service is equal to MS 3 services VW service interval is 15k kms or once a year where as MS service interval is once is 5I kms or 6 months

Abhi diesel engine nahi a raha Vento ka so we are left with only Petrol. Petrol Tsi manual check karna chala ke.

सर, मेरे पास भी पोलो हायलाईन पेट्रोल है l जब भी गाडी का कोई काम करवाना हो, अलग अलग शो रूम के चार्जेस अलग अलग होते है l और फर्क भी इतना के जो शो रूम सबसे सस्ता हो, डाउट आये की क्या ये डुप्लिकेट तो नही दे रहा? हाल ही मैने गाडी का क्लच चेंज किया l एक शो रूम ने 19 दुसरे ने 12 और तिसरे ने 8हजार cost बताया l तीनो vw के जिला लेव्हल के शो रूम l अब ऐसे में विश्वास किस पे rakhe?

Hello Mr Tiwari, I personally always suggest a new car. New car provides peace of mind for atleast 7 years. If you still want a second hand car, prefer buying it from a friend or relative. If you are buying from a dealer, check service & insurance record. Check tyres, battery, last service date & ask what repairs are being done. A trustworthy mechanic is must to inspect a car. Pay him Rs 1000 to inspect the car in a timely manner.
5 years old car highline should cost around 3-3.50 or may be little more if it is in excellent condition.

Door noise is strange thing. In my family there are 2 polo and a vento .But in last so many years never faced door noise issue. I suggest kindly visit authorised workshop and ask them in depth..

Yes Sir, if you drive in City mostly and with 2 persons. Engine is reliable & have enough power for a non heavy Driver. If you need a pocket rocket then prefer TSI

Seltos scored dismal 3 stars in Safety, Harrier needs improvement in fit and finish, Jeep/Fiat Compass is a sinking ship in India.

I recently brought VW Polo. Trust me, I've looked for all options, and I finalised two cars Ford Figo and Polo. Indians doesn't have much options when it comes to good hatchbacks. Maruti sells tin cans, Hyundai is busy trying to impress masses with air purifier and useless gadgets that can be brought on Amazon for few 100 rupees.
Tata is busy spamming with Ads, and their car like Altroz doesn't have the same feel. The moment I sat inside Polo test drive vehicle, I knew I was going to buy it.

Hi! Kindly wait for Taigun which will be launched in early 2021. They are not launching new Polo because of its size which is more than 4 meters, which will attract more taxes and hence it will be quite expensive. But still I believe, they should launch it.
