VW Polo Ownership Expenses in 8 Years

- I have been pretty much happy with the Polo in last 8 years. Mechanically it has not troubled me at all and Engine is performing great just like it was on day one. Apart from Engine, its interior & paint has held really really well and car doesn't look like 8 years old. I haven't used any compound till date either. Car has not faced any major accident but have had minor scratches and dents over the years.
So, in this video I have explained each and every expense that has taken place all these years.
Starting from Petrol, it has driven around 97000 KMs so far. With an average Petrol per litre cost of Rs 80 and Rs 5.50 per KM, I have spent around 5.50 lacs on Petrol in last 8 years.
Service average cost is considered as Rs 8500 for 7 years and 1 expensive service for Rs 25000 where shocker work was done and brake pads etc were replaced
Insurance average cost is considered as Rs 7500 so totaling around Rs 60,000
During all these years, I have replaced Tyres Twice totaling Rs 50,000
Bridgestone B290 - Rs 24000
Yokohama S-Drive - Rs 26000
All these years, denting painting is done once costing Rs 4000
Parcel Tray was replaced once for Rs 3000
Fuel Filter & Oxygen sensor replaced for Rs 5000
Fuel Lid Motor replacement was done for Rs 3000
Rear glass is replaced twice for Rs 3500 and Rs 4500
Second hand Vento Alloys were bought for Rs 16000

Total has come around round figure as Rs 8 lacs which means annual ownership cost is Rs 1 lac per year and (Rs 8500) per month if you drive around 12000 KMs per year and 1000 KMs per month.

Abhi toh VW ka asli kharcha shuru hi nahi hua. Fuel pump, steering rack, suspensions, ac compressor, etc.

Good to see a youtuber from Ludhiana 👍👍 . I personally have bought Polo 2 times & the car was brilliant to drive. Only drawback was the noisy 1.2 diesel engine & high cost of spares.

It all depends upon care of the vehicle,our family has swift (diesel) as daily use vehicle since 2007 and has 332000 kms on it,serviced just a week before and still runs as good as new without any hiccups or jerks.

The best car in terms of all measures... I am using polo comfortline petrol varient from past 7.5 years 90k km and still continuing as smooth as new one. U care well it gives u good exp. Yearly maintenance is never gone abv 9-11k in 7 services

I have zen for around 18 years. Bought it for 3.6 lakhs. Driven around 2.1 lakh km. So petrol cost around 7.5 lakhs. Seeing this I think having a fortuner will cost u 70-80 lakhs for owning it for 10-15 yrs 😂

Service cost genuine hai. Maine bhi pata lagaya tha Polo ki 7-years service cost approximately 62k hai. Shockers aur brake pads jisme 20k laga tha wo nahi hota to 8 years me around 70k service cost aata. Ghar pe ek Dzire hai humari jo mainly city me chalti hai. Lekin mai apne personal use ke liye Polo Highline Plus MT lene ki soch raha hu. Running aapki jitni nahi hogi us sey bahot kam. Mainly highway-oriented use hogi.

I have preferred outside especially after warranty period is over. From some reputed tyre showroom like velocity or monga tyres
I also faced problem in polo comfortline 2013 diesel like parcel tray fuel lid and boot locks.

I also Own Polo highline 1.2 petrol, & I had Invested around 1.6L in service+insurance+parts+tyres.
My car had done 80k running.
Honestly I recommend for Goodyear Tyre coz two times they replace it with nominal charges.
Last year my service guy told me to change the shocker & steering rack in the next service.
Last but not least I had lifted my polo by 40 m.m which cost me around 3k, Now I am not facing any ground clearance problem.
But my braking lags by half meters.
In the last 8 years am using polo still now I didn't face any major problem. Still is is running very nice.

Hi sunder deep....can you tell us about your seat covers. They are looking nice and solid build. Are those bucket seat covers?
Sir, I will put a video on this too. Never get a seat covers. They add to the heat in the cabin & adds to rattling too because of average workmanship. I am sorry but avoid them completely. There are many products in the market & Amazon with which we can keep seats clean. My Dad went & got the covers without asking me despite it was my car. I didn't Remve them but I will remove them very soon. However, if you really want them then Solimo, mytvs, 3m & car mate are some good brands

Is it worh to spend extra 4.5 lacs on seltos over s cross. As yoi are real technocrat, your suggestion is very valuable to me. Sun roof in seltos ivt not important to me
Sir, S-Cross is a very good car & I will any day will choose it over Seltos especially with 1.5 Petrol Torque converter gearbox. I have always speak high volumes about how good S-Cross is & I don't know why they don't improve quality as such in Brezza & Ciaz. S-Cross gives you an advantage of wide service network, fine resale & cheap maintenance too.

I am thinking of buying new polo TSI which cost me around 8.40 L , and the MPI is around 2L cheaper than TSI. Should I go for MPI in stead of TSI. Frankly I appreciate TSI but not MPI. Please suggest. Also should I get mileage of around 16 KMPL with decent city driving. I can claim that I am a decent driver. Early reply will be much appreciated. Thanks. Kris
Go for TSI only. MPI is only for the ones who want a commuter Engine but German quality.

Not only vw most of German cars are strong and tough cars. Quality comes with some extra price.
Have you seen tata cars nowdays??? Most of them are scoring 4-5 stars in global ncap rating.
Ford and honda are strong too but they don't have too much expences.

It's normal if you buying a car . You have added petrol expenses it that 8 lac too. That's not included in maintanence cost . insurance petrol tires these all are general expenses everyone bears.
It will educate a potential buyer that how much money he need to shell out in total if he needs to keep car for a longer period.

I have a doubt.. only you can help me With it.... I bought vento highline... This year in feb. Do you knoe anything about the airbag present in the seat ? The dealer told me that i cant use seat cover as there are airbag present in the seat
Agar top model hai toh please seat covers mat daliye. It has Airbags exactly at bottom right on driver seat & bottom-left at passenger seat near incline lever.

No that's not a good habit. I would never unscrew my new car for Tyres. All new tyres are definitely good for atleast 25000 kms. VW keep on changing. Mine came with JK 8 years back but last year my Brother's Vento had MRF and in 2019 my Brother's Polo had Apollo.

Sir aap apni polo ko kisi detailing shop like carszpa mein bhej dijiye swirl marks aur kuch minor paint defects ko remove krne k liye fir aap apni polo ko pehchaan hi nhi paoge aur haan aap apni troc k upar ppf krdo as it's a dark colour and maintaining it would be very difficult aur haan ppf krne se koi major scratches bhi car k upar nhi aayenge aur ppf sab apne upar le lega and prefer AGEIS ppf
T-Roc is little difficult for ingress & egress. Polo ko 3M se compound karvaunga jaldi hi
