What makes VOLKSWAGEN VENTO better than other sedans | Detailed Opinion and Review

  • Volkswagen Vento has always been a less talked sedan among the other sedans which has bling factor and better space on offer.
    However, Vento provides you the perfect balance of safety, convenience features and Engine Performance.
    VW Vento now comes with 1.0 TSI with 110 BHP and 170 NM of Torque. It provides around 16-20 mileage in City & Highways. These power stats are better than City and Ciaz but equal to Verna's DCT Automatic.
    Other than that, this car has stellar safety and have scored 4 stars in GNCAP (Polo's platform) and comes with 4 airbags (in Highline+) and has ABS and Electronic Brake distribution as standard.
    In convenience features, though it misses out on Sunroof but comes with class leading features like Cruise Control, Anti pinch power windows, reverse camera, infotainment screen with Android & Apple connectivity, steering mounted controls, auto LED headlamps, auto wipers, auto single zone AC, cooled glove box and armrest in the front and rear.
    VW Vento is offering upto 1.50 lacs discount in the festive season and hence once can definitely strike a deal and save some money.
    Service cost is around Rs 10-12 thousand every year or with 15000 KMs interval.
    It comes with a standard warranty of 4 years and extended warranty of 2 years. It provides 6 years of paint warranty and anti-corrosion warranty which no other brand provides.
    Please let me know if you have any questions about this car or any other car.

    I own a 2015 Vento TSI DSG . Amazing vehicle, great power and handling. Mileage 12-13 in city and 16 on highway.
    Here in Coimbatore the service is excellent. Very cheap service charge. About Rs 9000 for every 15000 km or once a year.
    Small negatives, outside smell enters cabin even in recirculation mode, but dessipates quickly, slight creaking sounds when taking a slow turn up a ramp .

    Nice review. I bought Vento Highline 1.6 MT this January and the first thing I did was to take a road trip from Bangalore to Goa. The power and stability of the car is unmatched. Steering control, maneuvering gives confidence on the road and you don't get tired even after driving continuously for long. Highway mileage on Petrol is satisfactory in the range 16-17. All in all a very satisfied and proud owner of a marvelous piece of engineering. I don't understand though why people don't buy Vento.

    Bro, I was in search of a new sedan after my Tjet Fiat linea. Tried Creta, Honda City, Kia but wasn't getting that drive pleasure. Then Skoda Rapid happened and I was about to book the Ambition varient but then I started research on youtube and stumbled upon your video and other Vento reviews. Tried new Vento and both Rapid and Vento gave me same drive pleasure but Vento had upper hand with its leather seats, cruise control, windows up & down by key remote, auto irvm at same price of Ambition, so, I booked the available Lapiz blue Highline varient. As Highline plus is 14.50 lac in Mumbai--3 lac expensive than Highline and also they've stopped manufacturing it in Manual transmission, so I had only one option on of Highline in MT which is value for money varient with almost all features except Led headlights. The showroom is fitting rear view camera on their own as a discount. I'm now happy that I made a right decision by purchasing Vw a German product. Thanks for your reviews and keep posting such unbiased views. 👍

    Great video. I own 2016 Vento TDI Highline DSG model. Have clocked more than 61k km in 4.5 years. Below are few points of my ownership.
    1. Solid build. Not even a single rattle till now.
    2. FAST diesel yet economical. I get around 13 to 14 in city traffic (Pune) and between 19 to 25 on highway depending on right foot. Have seen 30 kmpl on MID too driving at 80 kmph.😃
    3. Avg Service costs between 11k to 13k yearly. This is excluding wear and tear parts like disc pads, rotors, wiper etc...
    4. 55 Litres fuel tank, more than D segment sedans.
    Havent faced any major problem apart from fuel pump failure which was covered warranty.
    Happy Driving

    I remember going to the MG showroom and checking out hector plus. While I was enquiring about the side door beam, the sales person simply said that we can't reveal such information and simply gave reference of MG ZS EV as a 5 star while at the same time didn't mentioned about the hector NCAP rating. It was so clear that chinese owned brands like MG are just targeting Indian market with sheer feature loaded cars while build quality and engine are always below average. I was shocked during the test drive of Hector plus, because on paper the engine was massively powerful, but on road it was grunting with pain.
    Really appreciate your introductory part of the video where you showed the skeletal of the car, it clearly shows all pillars. Coming to the vento's performance, I own a 2017 highline plus TDI, and its a gem.

      Opposite happened with me- I went to VW dealership and sales executive was demonstrating the build quality by slamming the doors of Vento and there was even a Polo depicting the body structure, he even explained us that the front bumper bar can’t be broken even if it collided with a truck. I was extremely impressed 😃.
      Right now, we’re thinking of getting XUV300 W8 petrol manual. I’ve seen a driving enthusiast’s review on TH-cam who owned Rapid and Polo GT TSI, now he owns XUV300 petrol, he claims that it is better than GT TSI.

    I am using my Vento diesel 1.6 lt car since 2010 oct. you can’t find any rattle in car. Not a single bulb replaced, every gadget works beautifully. Average in long run over 21. Replaced left wheel bearing and one headlight bulb in ten years. It’s still smooth on good roads and comfortable on tough roads. Not changed any rubber part till date. Only changed Rack and pinion steering assembly once. Needs very little servicing , done 97000 km now.
    Truly it’s best car in segment much superior than Japanese cars or Korean ones.
    You must remember that it’s the design philosophy that makes German cars different From others. This is my third VW after two beetles.
    The ABS sensor is only weak point needs replacement on and off. The Rack pension bearing needs to be redesigned considering Indian roads.

      Verna's build quality is the culprit here, I would never trust it's build. If i20 Elite & Seltos scored only 3 stars that simply means, Verna is in the same league. Moreover, there are brake failure issues by Creta owners so kinda fear investing in any Hyundai car. Their paint Quality isn't good either, lose shine in 2 years itself.

    Yes, Vento has the German build quality. But it is my personal opinion that Vento's design can't be described as timeless vis a vis Polo. For a sedan it looks really bland and needs an agressive makeover. Just like how Polo is a brand in the hatchback space, in sedans Honda City has made a brand out of itself. It's naturally aspirated engine is really fun to drive. My friend has the previous gen City and it drives fabulously. Pure pleasure. Also, after the New City's launch, Honda is still selling the top 2 trims of old City at a very good discount. Has cruise control too. It is preferrable compared to Vento imo. Although Vento with the TSI engine is incredible to drive, the pricing of City is lower than Vento and there is no turbo lag which makes it a tiny bit more interesting compared to Vento. In Mexico, VW Virtus sedan has been launched based on facelifted Polo's design. It is more aggressive in the front headlights and taillights design. That can make Vento look distinct compared to City and Verna in India if launched here

    • @anishskaria
      @anishskaria 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Completely agree with you bro. Vento design is too bland compared to others in the segment. Good news is VW is planning a major upgrade in design by launching Virtus equivalent model as Vento in late 2021. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

    • @sunrise9228
      @sunrise9228 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anishskaria If they are planning to do that, it is great news. Because they really need to upgrade their lineup asap before i20 turbo and Altroz turbo variants eat into their Polo's share and other sedans swallow the market share of Vento. Ideally they should have got the updated lineup ready for BS6 launches

    Under engine protection missing is deliberate and to boost safety. In a frontal collision, the engine goes down rather than crashing into the cabin and crushing the driver's legs. This is a huge factor behind VWs record of extremely low fatalities to the vehicle's occupants. Even when you go and ask the VW service centre to install an engine protection plate, they will advise you not to install one; only if you insist they will.
    Anyway, the car is fabulous to own and drive. I have a Vento Highline Plus 1.6 AT (2011) and I think even in the year 2020, no sedan matches its performance and ownership. I'm saying this after driving various latest sedans across different manufacturers.

    • @DevendraKumarSailor
      @DevendraKumarSailor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would also like to add the centre rib through which the shaft passes in the passenger's cabin is also a great safety feature. It provides great rigidity, strength to the structure. Even though it eats into the leg space of the 5th passenger sitting in the middle, but I guess it's always better to be safe and sound than in a wheelchair. High-speed stability is amazing! On one of my long-distance trips, I gave the steering to my wife and was a bit apprehensive but she settled into the car and was easily cruising at 120 km/h on empty stretches. Highway driving is a breeze on this car. Cabin sound sealing quality is unmatched across segments. Nobody gives you such superior and quiet cabins in this segment. The heavy doors are a real godsend.

    @Sunderdeep Ji , Do you also felt that while reversing the vento (1.0) , there is no grunt in it ? Like even if a small brick/bump comes underneath, the car has almost no power to surpass it; because the RPM is almost near to nill while reversing and being a turbo, it is already not delivering anything there.
    The car takes two three jerks or a strong rev before it can actually come over the obstacle neatly. ? Please answer the same. Facing it since a while , I guess I am not the only one.

Had to incure no major cost other than the normal service charges. Thanks for your amazing review and would love to see anything that you can bring up to your honest viewers about any update on a new generation of the car. I personally looking for no new features like the competitors are providing but really dont want to invest on the current model of the vento which has just got a few cosmetic changes over the decade. Also, dont see any other option in the present market that can be considered better or at least as good as the vento and also, as I already have experienced the driving pleasure that vw has been able to provide, m sure that no other brand is or would be able to provide me for the price bracket.
