INCREDIBLE job man, you make it look so easy. Now I realize why painters charge so much!!! I've been spray painting for many years, and after you explaining many things in your other video, its made me an even BETTER rattle canner LOL Thanks man!! Great work!!
Ok so Big Dave you didnt get the memo did you? Wellllll ummm... your totally fired Little Dave will be taking your spot. He just brings a little more energy and extreme cuteness. Nothing personal just business you understand right?
Thank you for showing us how it is done. Was wondering about stickers vs paint and how to do it professionally. I am surely going to use the technique shown on my bikes.
Man you're stuff is so on point. If I lived closer I would absolutely try and get you to paint my bike. I just did mine and watched alot of your videos on what to do. Definitely helped out a bunch. Keep up the good work.
Great job Dave for a great paint tutorial For the first time ever I painted my cafe racer tank black pearl with a silver pearl pin strip and following your video and some help from the paint shop guy it came out really nice Thanks again
Hey Dave, just wanted to let you know how happy I was to see you uploaded a new video, I've been going through some tough times lately and I was so happy when I saw you uploaded a new video and it just made my day, so thank you mate :D
CS Studios your welcome mate. I myself have had a hard end and start to the year. In and out of hospital. For myself and my family. Lucky it was just a bump in the road, a small set back that leads to much better times ahead. Hopefully that's the case for you as well. Cheers.
I know i've said it before but WOW again. Its a bit cold here in England at the moment but i am already planning a spray job on my custom VF1000R when it warms up a bit.
this is really good, i'm trying to figure out how to paint my bicycle frame and thought you did the base first then the accents. Your video shows that there's different methods. Now it wont be so bad when I tackle mine.
Perfect timing I am picking up my first motorcycle on monday. It's my first bike and I know it's going to need some paint work. I'm thinking sonic blue.
Looks very cool. And the timing of this is quite coincidental. Just came inside to watch a video while the paint stripper does it's thing on my motorcycle fuel tank. haha.
One tip that might help someone is when you are trimming with the blade be carefull not to cut too deep or else it may show in the final job as fine lines....
Dave, I paint Harleys. Where can I get customer paintable Harley letters and decals made to order? Also, when taping off the paint transition for another paint color, I should wait until I clear coat that stage before I sand to smooth out the different paint lines and heights?
Looks good Dave, Any tips on measuring the amount of flake to use to get a certain effect?. Im thinking of painting a boat trailer with a holographic blue in the near future, But im just unsure on how much flake to throw in the mix!!. Looking forward to more videos, Keep it up mate!.
Hi, can you make it clear for me? I have some doubts... The primer is the same as the adhesion promoter? If not, what adhesion promoter do? Primer first? Then adhesion? Then paint? For the tank, do you use same primer as for the fairings that you have painted? And tell me please those stepes are correctly for painting. 1. Sanding 2. Clean 3. Primer (2-3 coats) (10-15 minutes between coats?) 4. Let it dry 5. Base paint (2-3 coats ) (10-15 minutes between coats?) 6. Let it dry 24h 7. Clearcoat (2-3 coats) (10-15 minutes betweencoats?) If you want it more clear 8.Wetsanding 9.Clean 10. Clearcoat (1-3 coats) ? Please tell me where i'm wrong :D Thank you in advice :D
Hi can I ask once you sprayed the candy Red.... How long to dry before masking over it to do second colour.... Ie the silver base still goin to adhere? Thanks?
Hi, i'm italian and i want to do a similar job, but i never use a spray gun. Can you help me? how many pressure did you use with the spray gun for base coat and clear coat?
Just did my first paint job ever on my 180.had to do it twice cause i fucked it up 1st go but turned out perfect.only thing im havin trouble with is getting paint in all the gaps of door handle witgout getting runs.any tips???? Thanks for the vids mate really helped me out!!!
Why did you spray on the pearl white if you spayed black over top of it all? There is no pearl white anywhere. Seems like a mistake or error? Was the Triumph decal not white?
I've been wanting to do my Triumph Speed Triple tank and just found this. I was under the impression I had to get the tank back to bare metal before priming it? Is anyone able to clarify?
Hey, love the vids, keep em coming. I was wondering, since I can't copy line from one side of something to another without majorly messing up, is it possible to get one side the way you want and make a stencil, if so, what's the best material to use?
Realize people, this in not a "how-to" vid! What is completley glossed-over is the needed time it takes to be comfortable with the equipment, how to clean the gun, handle the gun, use the paints, and having a "hospital-clean" heated, air-vented spray room!!! Your saying "waiting 10 mins between coats". that only works in a perfect environment with heat-lamps and air-transfer system. And on a personal note with the color and graphic-scheme....someone has been watching too much Transformers movies! ;]
Why do you have to cover the tank in the entire color if you are only doing samlla shape? Doesnt it make more sense to gover the rest of the tank and spray just over the shape?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the sticker he used for the Triumph logo. I'm trying to find one where you stick it on and peel off after painting but I have no idea where to find them
you can get any, you should be able to peel it off using a hairdryer, warm up the glue to make it loose then peel it off using a razor blade to help lift it slowly, either way, you risk only getting minor scratches that you can fix by painting clear over and sandpaper and paint clear (which you have to do either way)
Great Question Alan. I was curious what a PSI he was on. I usually keep it around 40 PSI using my HVLP Gun and 6 Gallon Air Compressor. Have some Great Results !!!
It looks awesome if you remove the sticker after the base coat! What type of stickers are they? They seem to be coming of really easy so it's probably not an "official" decal?
INCREDIBLE job man, you make it look so easy. Now I realize why painters charge so much!!! I've been spray painting for many years, and after you explaining many things in your other video, its made me an even BETTER rattle canner LOL Thanks man!! Great work!!

Love the workmanship mate!!! Outstanding job!!!

I know i've said it before but WOW again. Its a bit cold here in England at the moment but i am already planning a spray job on my custom VF1000R when it warms up a bit.
this is possibly the most elaborate job you showed us, the bike now looks like it's using colors of german flag
I was just putting down primer on my tank when this got posted. Thanks for the vid! Perfect timing!

5:36, so when peeling that graphic backing sticker off, does the residue from that adhesive affect paint over it .......or should it be cleaned ?
Looks mint Dave
Where’s the video of you painting the exhaust? I really wanted to see how that comes out.
Great vid as always Dave.
I was so glad to see a new video, looks great keep it up.

That carbon fibre film, where can I get more info on that please.
Hi, i'm italian and i want to do a similar job, but i never use a spray gun. Can you help me?
how many pressure did you use with the spray gun for base coat and clear coat?
Hi, I’m planning to spray can my tank. I’ve bought rust oleum metallic spray and clear coat. Feasible product for tanks?
Just did my first paint job ever on my 180.had to do it twice cause i fucked it up 1st go but turned out perfect.only thing im havin trouble with is getting paint in all the gaps of door handle witgout getting runs.any tips???? Thanks for the vids mate really helped me out!!!
Wow! Really like your paint job, what products do you suggest for painting and what type of airgun?
Hello. I want to ask smtg. If i want to use black paint as my top coat. Then what coat should i use as base coat?
So you can mask over 2k after 20 minutes room temp drying. How long do you need to leave 1k before you can mask over plz ?
Awsome job on the tank
Perfect job well done *bravo*!!!
Yeah, new video!!!! Keep em coming !!!
Why did you spray on the pearl white if you spayed black over top of it all? There is no pearl white anywhere. Seems like a mistake or error? Was the Triumph decal not white?
The csm triumph logo is pearl white.
Looks great. Do you happen to know the paint code for the black pearl?
Dumblederp that's a custom colour I made. It's about half black and half xirallic silver pearl.
What's the difference between reducer and thinner?
beautiful,very nice.👌
Awesome!!!....love your work!!!
If was a German patriot, I'd love the colours, however you do a nice paint job.
Travelingman 1997 maybe it's like the Australian Aboriginal flag.
customspraymods true.
I like your videos.
Your a pro mate.
Came out beautiful....but that was an awful amount of expensive paint used for a very small amount of visual affect
Psi ("pression")for the clear coat ? :)
Quality work there.
Your videos help me a lot
Can you do a video on conductive paint?
You definitely earned my up vote and sub 👍
Thanks mate
I've been wanting to do my Triumph Speed Triple tank and just found this. I was under the impression I had to get the tank back to bare metal before priming it? Is anyone able to clarify?
No you don’t.
Sick you are the coolest
Hey, love the vids, keep em coming. I was wondering, since I can't copy line from one side of something to another without majorly messing up, is it possible to get one side the way you want and make a stencil, if so, what's the best material to use?
Zachary Lyman yes that's what I did but it didn't work out too well. Use a transparent vynal and trace around with a pencil.
Realize people, this in not a "how-to" vid! What is completley glossed-over is the needed time it takes to be comfortable with the equipment, how to clean the gun, handle the gun, use the paints, and having a "hospital-clean" heated, air-vented spray room!!! Wow awesome vid!! Subbed
Why do you have to cover the tank in the entire color if you are only doing samlla shape? Doesnt it make more sense to gover the rest of the tank and spray just over the shape?
Jaime B. Sure does but I wasn’t sure on what shapes I was doing.
@@customspraymods oh ok, I just saw a lot of people doing it that way, I didn't understand why.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for the sticker he used for the Triumph logo. I'm trying to find one where you stick it on and peel off after painting but I have no idea where to find them

what air pressure mate looks like you use about 50 psi
Great Question Alan. I was curious what a PSI he was on.
I usually keep it around 40 PSI using my HVLP Gun and 6 Gallon Air Compressor. Have some Great Results !!!
Looking great Dave and a really big help too. Where did you get the Triumph graphic made?
A friend made it. I can make them as well now.
It looks awesome if you remove the sticker after the base coat! What type of stickers are they? They seem to be coming of really easy so it's probably not an "official" decal?
