John Farnham cover of the Beatles "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is the single greatest live vocal performance by anyone ever, anywhere.
these are two of the best Australian tenants you will find they are both legends here and are all ways best listened to live and if you think that is crazy you should see John sing help live with the Melbourne symphony orchestra
The guitarist is Mark Lizotte, also known as Johnny Diesel, from his band Johnny Diesel and the Injectors, an American born Australian singer songwriter who also happens to be Jimmy Barnes brother in-law, they married sisters!
Love these two guys. They do a Cold Chisel duet, too. When the war is over. It is phenomenal, the duet, Cold Chisels original, or John Farnham cover. All excellent performances and vocals. Must do live with these guys. My personal favourite is John Farnham cover, perhaps because I experienced it first, but all just fabulous.
I feel that Farnham’s reworking of “When The War Is Over” misses the way the original song builds as it goes along. Farnham’s reworking of “Help” by The Beatles was excellent though.
@@YobboBearCold Chisels version is influenced by the chemistry between the vocals by Ian Moss and the brilliant backing vocals by Jimmy, plus Jimmy’s late contribution to his own short leed vocals...... plus the vibe of a 5 piece rock band being a rock band. Farnham is not Ian Moss, he wasn’t backed by a sometimes bluesy rock band and he didn’t have Jimmy adding either his backing vocals or his short leed vocals. A bit like comparing white grapes to red grapes........ beer drinkers prefer one over the other, those with wine knowledge know that both grapes make fantastic wine...... even if we mortals can’t afford the price tags. lol
One of my favorites. You may also enjoy Jimmy Barnes & Tina Turner (Simply The Best), also Jimmy Barnes featuring Joe Bonamasa (Stone Cold). Joe opened shows for BB King when he was 12.
Definitely check out the live version of this, it's incredible. Also check out Stone Cold by Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa. After that get onto Stan Walker, especially his Ultralight Beam cover and his single I Am from the movie Origin. Apologies if you've already seen any of these and I've missed them.
That's the true definition of powerhouse right there. So much soul, so much grit, so much passion. It doesn't get any better than these 2 mega stars in Australia and put them both together is absolutley fire 🔥 I hope you will delve further into both of these guys. ❤❤❤😂
Jeez, took a while! And Johnny Diesel on guitar and backing vocals, Jimmy and Johnny are brothers-in-law, they married sisters. Look for Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes doing Tina's song "Simply the Best", also with Johnny Diesel. Brilliant!
John and Jimmy are legends, two of the greatest singers on the planet. But let’s not forget Jimmy’s brother-in-law Diesel who is also an amazing singer and guitarist as well.♥️
This is a cover song. ALWAYS react to anything by the fantastic John Farnham LIVE and in performance before an audience where his soul shines. Try the performance of the three, of this song, at the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards. You think you have heard John before? You can never forget the gymnastic brilliance and interpretation of John Farnham's vocal ability !
Love this video. Looks like they're having so much fun. But I really like the live versions better. Any song by John ( You're the Voice or Help both with the MSO) or Jimmy (Flame Trees, Khe Sahn, Stone Cold with Joe Bonamassa) and heaps more are all better live. So much awesome Aussie music available to react to. Enjoy. Great reaction, mate. ❤
You should do a reaction to the duet version of Simply the Best that Jimmy Barnes did with Tina Turner. It's the best duet Tina ever did. It will blow your mind. 😄
Have a look at Jimmy Barnes stone cold with Joe Bonamassa you won't regret it fantastic song great guitarist Joe match perfect. Watch it you won't regret it
Have subbed for this ❤. If you like this, you need to have a look at Jimmy's rendition of " A change is gonna come" or with his band - Cold Chisel "Bow River live Ringside 2003"
Talking about good music and guitarists with a touch, Tony Clarkin was not only one of those but a bona fide compser as well. He recently passed and it's absolutely unfair almost nobody has reacted to his band Magnum, one of the most underrated bands ever! Songs like "Don't Wake the Lion", "The Spirit" or "Kingdom of Madness" did a lot for the rock prog movement and their most hardrockin' side is undoubtedly enjoyable! Songs like "Just like an Arrow", "Midnight", "Heartbroke & Busted", "Start Talkin Love", "Days of No Trust" and "Vigilante" are clear examples of this.... And for the record, somebody well-known in the rock scene (who can be traced by the initials RT) produced their Vigilante album and you can hear him doing backing vocals in the songs "Sometime Love" and "When The World Comes Down". MAGNUM, a band totally worth giving a try. Long live Tony Carkin!
One simple comment, both of these guys are better live. The guitarist was a star on his own right & known as Diesel. This song is great & all but it's better live.
PLEASE only do LIVE performances of John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes. Both independently successful & the biggest/best artists for 50+yrs to date. LIVE is the only way you can ever do their voices justice. Johnny Diesel (the guitarist) is also an incredible artist in his own right. He is also Jimmy's brother in law. Welcome to the rabbit hole of them. You've not even scratched the surface!
3 legends collaborating on an official video...... at least 2 live recordings are better than this one and a third is almost as good, except not Jimmy’s best performance. The guitarist, Mark Lizotte ( aka Johnny Diesel ) adds his very HIGH harmonies to the finnishing vocals on the live performances...... which all end Acapella. Funny though, Mark does such high backing vocals and even performed in the USA as himself singing leed in that high voice........ but started out in Australia as our favourite BLUES singer and guitarist. Jimmy and Johnny can never be replaced and their rabbit holes are endless going back to the early 1970’s for Jimmy to the present and for John from 1967 to 2021 / 2022. Marks rabbit hole is almost as deep. lol
John Farnham cover of the Beatles "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is the single greatest live vocal performance by anyone ever, anywhere.
Fact 😎🥰
the only cover I have seen to equal it is Kasey Chambers cover of Lose yourself by Eminem@@divinemadness7119
Please please please mate go down the rabbit hole that is Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham. Plus me brother you won’t be disappointed
Welcome to the world of Jimmy and Johny and Diesel🇦🇺
these are two of the best Australian tenants you will find they are both legends here and are all ways best listened to live and if you think that is crazy you should see John sing help live with the Melbourne symphony orchestra
3. Don't exclude Mark Lizotte
Or Diesel @@ShishakliAus

You should see the live version of this, John Diesel is the guitarist and he sings as well and he sounds like Jimmy Barnes. Top Aussie talent!!!!!!

Mate, you want to really hear John Farnham sing, then listen to his cover version of "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin.
🇦🇺😎💯
One simple comment, both of these guys are better live. The guitarist was a star on his own right & known as Diesel. This song is great & all but it's better live.
Theres a live version of this song on youtube, actually sounds better than this imo. Not an autotune in sight, just pure talent.

It's pronounced 'John Farnum".
