- It's Monday, let's do some watercolor mixing. A convenience color that is a favorite of many is Daniel Smith's Undersea Green. Roman Szmal’s Aquarius Green is very similar to the Under Sea Green. Their recipe uses PB29, PY150 and PBr25 so you don’t need to worry about the discontinued PO48 if you’re mixing your own version. I like how thorough and yet still fun your videos are.

Yay! It's Mixing Monday! It's great to hear the excitement in your voice when the pigments separate. 😀 I really wouldn't have thought that the two brands would look so different, but then Qor is a whole different animal. I'm going to pull out my undersea and have a play with it.
I think you'd have a lot of fun playing around on Yupo. It's a synthetic paper that watercolorists use (or alcohol ink artists) It looks like the palette does with the paints all separated. I like it because if you aren't happy with what you did, you can just wipe it clean. It does stain, but using alcohol can help clean it better. It's great for brush practice for that reason.

Daniel smith quin gold is po 48 and py 150 so just add that to pb 29. Or experiment with other blues.
I do like Quin gold with the DS French Ultramarine that is a quick way to mix this one up and have it granulate more.
@@ClarkFineArtI just did that last week for a class I’m taking.
Did you use daniel smith french ultramarine? If not it granulates alot more than regular ultramarine blue and maybe that was the version they used in the mixture.
Great point! I used Daniel Smith Ultramarine and perhaps I will have to get some of the French Ultramarine and give that another go! Thanks for sharing, you are correct that could be what they are using. Getting the right version of a pigment is important if you are trying to recreate a convenience color exactly.
@ClarkFineArt yeah I like frech ultramarine more it tends to separate alot more with other colors and give the effects of granulation that your looking for. Curious to know your thoughts when you try it out.
