Biography:
Roy E. Gane, originally from Australia, is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Ancient Near Eastern Languages at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University (Berrien Springs, Michigan). He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in biblical Hebrew language and literature at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been at Andrews University since 1994 after teaching in the Religion Department of Pacific Union College from 1992 to 1994. I just learned of Dr. Gane this past Sabbath at church, so I was thrilled to see him on ADL. He was spoken of with the highest regards by our pastor, but that can't prepare you for hearing him like this. Simply amazing education here.
So glad to hear Dr. Gane's position on the doctrine of sin. Wasn't expecting that to be honest, as many and many adventist scholars spouse a position similar to Desmond Ford on this specific topic.

The only truth that I can see that he said is Daniel 8:25 is Jesus Christ. Anything else that's actually from the Bible I couldn't see any truth that he actually said! And I can prove it but you won't listen to the truth. You're listening to the voice of the devil thinking you're believing the truth!

Every doctrine of the S.D.A can be traced by the correct understanding of the sanctuary that was given to Moses.
Yeah but the sanctuary in Daniel 8
.has not even been built yet! That sanctuary has the Antichrist in it ..and they sent that to heaven ..that is the SDA Jesus!

From my research the strengths of the historicists interpretation:
1. Recapitulation (common in Hebraic apocalyptic)
2. Christocentric
3. Rome (pagan & papal) fulfills all 12 elements of the prophecy in both Dan. 7 & 8
The strengths of the preterist view:
1. It is very popular among non-evangelicals
2. Feel that the little horn of Dan. 8 is Grecian.
As you can see, the historicist position is more exegetical and in my opinion much more defensible Biblically.

Note: 1:14:00 evenings and mornings refers to the period of candlestick being lit "nights". The only part of the service that was done evening to morning rather than morning to evening.

I found this: Exodus 30:7-8 says the candlelight is lit at evening, and leviticus 24:2-4 more specifically says to tend from "evening till morning continually" which are both wording used in daniel 8, the daily "continual" in hebrew, is trodden underfoot for 2300 "evenings and mornings.
Genesis 1:5: So the Evening and the morning were the 1st day.
Whenever the Bible says "evening/morning" It refers to a literal 24 hour day.
So, Therefore, the 2300 day prophecy in Daniel 8:14, is referring to 2300 literal 24 hour days, because, the original text says "evening mornings".

@jfarrell2772 How is it a lie, The time period mentioned in this Prophecy covers atleast 3 to 4 kingdoms that clearly lasted longer than 2300 literal days. If they are then how do you account for it reaching ro the time of the messiah from the time Daniel recieved the Prophecy?
@@jfarrell2772 He made it clear that the 70 weeks (490 year) prophecy is a part of the 2300 day prophecy, therefore it must also be years.

Thanks for explaining all so well, Dr Gane. I know Myles loves targeting SDA scholars, theologians and prominent members such as Evangelists etc., so I have no doubt Myles is sitting right now and dissecting each and every word, phrase and statement you made.
Myles' obsession with SDA has much to do with his sour grapes which germinated during his college years in SDA. This is the main reason he's become sooooo obsessed with Adventists and the remnant movement.

9:51 he points out that the sin offering is a mis translation for the sacrifice done after a woman giving birth lev 12. and this is a sacrifice for purification. How does that relate to the sacrifices in leviticus 17?

I like many out of penticostal raising as a youngster. In my 30s around 2012- 2013 I prayed calling out to God. To show me his Biblical Truth. I knew inside penticostal was not biblical. And babtist once saved always saved as well didnt sit well. Say this and you are good doctrine. Time after time year after year SDA Proved biblical. My only disagreement being is the Sons of seth . I use ENOCH as Jesus himself refered to the book. Sda always going on about the Character of God. Once we see that the Fallen started a seed war. It explaines why God wiped out whole peoples or Ites, men wo.en children etc. And made the little g gods make sense and their off spring demigods. Which we have ample evidence for. It really opens the bible up. I think at the time of mid 1800s they were trying to get away from spiritualism and myths. But Our KJV mentions zusus.

Let’s forget all historicist presuppositions and read the text as it is, then proceeds to read the text with historicist presuppositions. 😀
*Antiochus Epiphanes CANNOT be the little horn of Daniel 8 as this would break the prophetic harmony found in Daniel chapters 2,7,8 & 11.* - *Similarly, others have suggested Turkey / Islam as the King of the North in Daniel 11.* - *But here again,* - *the prophecy will not be in harmony with the rest of the prophetic chapters*
*There are four great lines of unbroken prophecy in the Book of Daniel in chapters 2,7,8 and 11.* - *Chapters 5, 7,8 and 11 expand on chapter 2 identifying the kingdoms of the Daniel 2 image.*
*The prophecy of Daniel chapter 2 is repeated in Daniel chapter 7 with added detail of events happening in the fourth kingdom of iron as it transitions to the feet of iron & clay, as the fourth beast gives rise to the Little Horn.*
*Daniel 7:23 connects Daniel 7 with the Daniel 2 image.* - *"...the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom..." This beast represents the fourth kingdom of Iron of the Daniel 2 image.*
*Daniel 7 introduces the Little Horn.* - *The little horn is part of the fourth beast just as the Iron of the feet of Daniel 2 is part of the Iron legs of the fourth Kingdom.* - *Hence the third [leopard], second [bear] and the first [lion] beasts represent the third, second and first kingdoms of the Daniel 2 image respectively with Babylon being the Lion and the bear, Medo-Persia.* - *The Medes & Persians are crushed by the Grecian He-Goat in the vision of Daniel 8:1-16 becoming the third Kingdom of the Daniel 2 image.* - *The little horn of Daniel 8 which follows the He-Goat with its identifying marks must therefore, be Rome in both its Pagan and Papal phases* - *AND NOT ANTIOCHUS EPIPHANES.*
*Daniel 7 describes a sequence of powers that lead up to the time of the judgment. Daniel saw four beasts:*
*1.* Lion [Babylon] 605-539 BC - Daniel 7:4. *2.* Bear [Medes and Persians] 539-331 BC - Daniel 7:5. *3.* Leopard [Greece] 331-168 BC - Daniel 7:6. *4.* Dragon [Roman Empire] 168 BC-476 AD - Daniel 7:7. *5.* Ten horns [Roman Empire divided] 476 AD - 538 AD - Daniel 7:7, 23. *6.* Little horn [Papal Rome during the 1260 years spoke against God, persecuted the saints for 3 1/2 times [360 x 3 + 180 = 1260 days/years, (538 AD - 1798 AD)], and changed or attempted to change the law and the times] - Daniel 7:8, 24, 25.
*THE LITTLE HORNS OF DANIEL 7 AND 8 IS THE SAME POWER*
*1.)* - The same symbol of a little horn indicates that this is the same power described as a little horn in Daniel chapter 7.
*2.)* - Both begin small and become great [Dan 7:8 & Dan 8:9].
*3.)* - Both are blasphemous [Dan 7:8, 25 & Dan 8:11, 25].
*4.)* - Both persecute the saints [Dan 7:21, 25 & Dan 8:11, 25].
*5.)* - Both endure for long periods of prophetic time [Dan 7:25 & Dan 8:11, 25].
*6.)* - Both suffer a similar fate [Dan 7:26 & Dan 8:25].
*In Daniel and Revelation,* - *it is not uncommon to use one symbol to represent Rome in its Pagan and Papal phases.* - *Note the symbol of the LITTLE HORN in Daniel 8 is used to represent ROME in both its Pagan and Papal forms.* - *In Daniel 7,* - *the fourth beast with ten horns was ROME and out of that fourth beast's head springs forth the little horn,* - *therefore, one can say the same beast represented ROME in its Pagan and Papal forms.* - *Similarly, in Daniel 11,* - *the KING of the NORTH is symbolic of both the Rome of the Caesars and Papal Rome.* - *Likewise, in Revelation 12,* - *the Dragon with seven heads and ten horns is a symbol not only of Satan but of Rome which Satan used to try and kill the infant Jesus* - *and also of the persecuting power of Papal Rome as the Dragon sends forth a flood after the woman* God’s true church] - *to try and destroy her* - *One symbol representing the same power* - *in its different phases or forms.*
*The little horn would “magnify himself against the Prince of the host,”* [Dan 8:11] - *and stand up against the “Prince of Princes” [Dan **8:25**].* - *The Prince of the host is Jesus.* - *As Antiochus died over 160 years BEFORE Christ was born he [Antiochus] cannot be the little horn.*
*Some attempt to spiritualize this but context is against it:* -
*Daniel 8:10 -11 concerns the little horns literal actions,* - *i.e. "cast down some of the host [Gods people v 24] taking away the daily...sanctuary cast down.”* - *Pagan Rome destroyed the temple in 70 AD.* - *As the context refers to literal events it is natural to understand that the standing up against Christ was also a literal event.*
*Peter said, “The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ...both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together”* Acts 4:26. *Clearly Rome fulfils the prophecy, NOT ANTIOCHUS.*
*This application of the* - *•"exceeding great"* - [Dan 8:9] - *horn to Rome is further confirmed by the fact that Rome fulfilled precisely the other specifications of Daniel 8.* - *For example, Rome "stamped" upon the people of God [Dan. **8:10**],* - *relentlessly persecuting them throughout the centuries-in pagan times through tyrants, such as Nero, Domitian, and Diocletian,* - *and just as tragically under the succeeding papal phase.*
*While the dragon of Revelation 12 primarily represents the Devil* [Rev 12:9] *it also represents an earthly kingdom through which Satan worked to try to kill baby Jesus* [Rev 12:4-5]. *That power was the Roman Empire.* - *Scripture teaches that beasts, like this dragon, represent kingdoms* [Read Daniel 7:23].
*The little horn of Daniel 8 has the same characteristics as the dragon of Rev 12:*
*1.* - *Both said to be "great"* [Dan 8:10; Rev 12:3].
*2.* - *Both cast down some of the stars to the ground *[Dan 8:10; Rev 12:4].
*3.* - *Both attacked Jesus* [Dan 8:11, 25; Rev 12:4-5].
*4.* - *Both attacked God's people* [Dan 8:24; Rev 12:13].
*5.* - *Both exist at the end of the world* [Dan 8:18, 25 cf. point 6 on Dan 8:25; Rev 12:17].
*As this power literally attempted to kill baby Jesus* [Rev 12:4] *SO, IT COULD NOT BE ANTIOCHUS EPIPHANES WHO DIED OVER 160 YEARS BEFORE JESUS WAS BORN.*
Daniel 8:11 - *The little horn took up the “daily.” The term “take away” is from the Hebrew [H7311] word “rûwm,” which means “take up, exalt, raise up, lift up.”* - *This is also the way Daniel used this word everywhere else in his book [e.g. “exalt” Hebrew “ rûwm” in Dan **11:36**].* - *Therefore, the little horn raised up, lifted up and exalted the “daily.”* - *Therefore the “daily” cannot possibly be the Jewish daily sacrifices as Antiochus certainly did not raise up, lift up or exalt the Jewish sacrifices,* - *rather he stopped them.* - *Antiochus' actions are not therefore the taking away of the daily.* - *Also, the word “sacrifice” is not in the original text,* - *hence the Daily has nothing to do with the sanctuary service.*
*All attempts to fit the desecration of the Jewish Temple by Antiochus Epiphanes, into “2300 evenings and mornings” have uniformly failed.* - *The most nearly contemporary account, in Maccabees **1:54**; **4:52**-54, is very precise in stating that Antiochus interrupted the temple services for three years and ten days [from Chislev 15, 168, to Chislev 25, 165],* - *which is far short of 2300 days.*
*All attempts to reduce the 2300 days [evening mornings] to 1150 literal days are likewise faulty.* -
*The 2300 “evening morning” cannot refer to the twice daily sacrifices of the Jews, and thus be shortened into only 1150 days,* - *as the sacrifices were never referred to as evening and morning in the Bible.* - *The sacrifices were only ever called morning and evening sacrifices [Exo **29:38**-39; Num 28:3-4; Ezra 3:3; 2 Chron 2:4; **13:11**].*
*The fundamental reason why futurist and preterist scholars refuse to translate shâbûwaʻ [H7620] in Daniel 9 as ‘weeks’ is because they would then have to admit, in order to be consistent, that the year/day principle must be applied to other prophetic time periods as well.*
Incidentally, the Septuagint translates the Hebrew shâbûwaʻ with the Greek word hebdomos [G1442]. This word is consistently translated “week”.

*Dan **8:17** said,* - *“for at the time of the end shall be the vision.”* KJV translations are consistent on this rendering:
Even the NIV & RSV agree with the K.J.V. - *“the vision concerns the time of the end.”* NIV.
*“the vision refers to the time of the end.”* NKJV
*“the vision is for the time of the end.”* RSV.
“*for the vision shall be [ful]filled in the time of end.”* WYC
*“for the vision is for the time of the end."* DARBY
And even the [DRA] Douay-Rheims agrees, *“in the time of the end the vision shall be fulfilled”*
*So, as the vision concerns events at the time of the end IT CANNOT POSSIBLY REFER TO ANTIOCHUS WHO DIED OVER 160 YEARS BEFORE CHRIST.*
*Furthermore, Dan **8:23** said that the little horn spoke a language that the Jews did not understand, or “dark sentences.”* - *Deut. **28:49**-50 describe the same power which God brought against his disobedient people as “a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue [language] thou shalt not understand; A nation of fierce coutenance...”* - *Daniel called this power “a king [kingdom] of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences”* - *However as Antiochus spoke Greek which was very familiar to the Jews, he CANNOT be the little horn.* - *Note also that the power is called a nation in Deuteronomy 28.*
*In conclusion,* - *if we were to apply the little horn to any one of these twenty-six Syrian kings,* - *it should be to the most illustrious and powerful one of them all;* - *but Antiochus Epiphanes was not by any means the most powerful king of the Syrian line.* - *Although he took the name Epiphanes,* - *that is, "The Illustrious,"* - *he was illustrious only in name.* - *Nothing, says Prideaux, on the authority of Polybius, Livy, and Diodorus Siculus, could be more alien to his true character;* - *because of his vile and extravagant folly, some thought him a fool and changed his name from Epiphanes, "The Illustrious," to Epimanes, "The Madman."*
Don’t understand about needing proof people are safe to be saved and to live with the other created beings because Adam and Eve fell. Wouldn’t that logically mean that that should be said about the angels as well? I mean 1/3 of the angels sinned and fell, shouldn’t they all be quarantined then until they can prove that they are safe as well? Also, doesn’t Jesus that came in the flesh prove that it’s possible in on itself? so he was able to provide the sacrifice and proof that sin can be conquered. I think we are assuming that Alison requires a blood sacrifice when Lucifer sin does an LNG white state that Jesus try to persuade him to repent meaning that Jesus would forgive him. If Lucifer repented would Jesus have to be born as an angel and be sacrificed?

The fact that Roy Gane believes God needs vindicating is enough for why he has believed to lie of Adventism.
Did Catholics say they changed The Sabbath Day instituted from creation to Sunday? Or Did they say they Transferred the "SOLEMNITY" of Sabbath to Sunday? Is there a difference? Catholics still believe the Sabbath of Creation week is still Saturday. So why is there such hatred against Catholics?? Saturday is still The Sabbath of Creation, but We honor The Lord's Resurrection on The First Day of the Week, which SDAs don't. We love and worship Jesus. We obey His commandments to perpetually observe all He commands. You do not do that. His Commandments are what He will identify you.
