Lou malnatis has 70+ locations in the USA and Shakey’s has 56 (more worldwide but they’re talking in the US chains). So why is Ryan’s pick fine, but Shane’s isn’t? 🤔
You can absolutely say it’s not a US chain if it’s only in the Midwest. They were supposed to list US Pizza Chains; if a chain is only in one part of the country it’s not a national chain. Therefore Lou Malnatis is a Midwestern chain. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it can’t speak for all of the country until I can get it without having to leave my time zone for it. between the black & white and his general appearance, he looked like he was promoting wine coolers in the early '90s
@@RobCamp-rmc_0 lmao yess
truly rhett and link are the only duo and guest who can match ryan and shanes energy
Link looking down at the screen to catch Shane's reaction to his slam on malls at 11:58. *Chef's kiss*
Does Shane not just sort of... look like a guy who loves the mall?
he looks like one of those dudes that sit down on the benches, looking around, waiting for their spouse to come out of a store and still looks happy as ever
@@vhenan This is so pure and accurate. And he'd pick a bench by the weird fountains they used to have in damn near every mall. Just lookin' like 'this is the best day... think we're gonna get some Sbarro after this!'
Shane, as a citizen of Chicagoland, you have done us proud.
Yes!
As a former midwesterner when he said Sbarro I was just like wow that is the most Midwestern fucking thing
Garibaldis, Gino's East, Giordano, Pequods, Chicago Pizza Oven Grider.... but he made it up with the Malnatis for sure 🤤
each week, shane's outfit gradually gets more absurd.
And I am absolutely here for it lol
It's the Shane style
this comment is so funny to me because I genuinely thought "oh shane looks pretty normal this week"
m a d e j e s t i c
The way I could tell Ryan had round table pizza as his number one based on his (hardly) muted reaction to the commentary after his shakey's choice.... I felt so satisfied when he finally said it. Fantastic
Shane: “-Knocking down prejudices”
Link: “Tell that to Papa Johns”
Oh my goddddddd
its so refreshing seeing link say things he wouldn't on GMM, much respect for ryan and shane bringing it out!
Except no other evidence outside of that executive meeting has surfaced of him saying racist remarks, dude was outsed for financial reasons.
@@Clay3613 was that one meeting not enough for you? he even admitted to it and doubled down, what kind of willfull ignorance level are you on right now
@@raredischotline My point, saying something bad doesn't mean anything without context.
@@Clay3613 Everyone already knows the context.
Why are you defending an action that the man himself didn't even defend?
You don't say words like that without them being normalized to you first, especially saying them in a professional setting. It takes a certain level of trash to have a lexicon of words, including the word "fucker" or "shitbag" and he chose... that word. Knowing what it meant to say it. Then doubled down on it.
Don't stand up for trash humans, you'll get that stink on you too.
21:41 - "Listen, we've 'chef's kissed' each other up and down and all around-"
27:35 - "You know what? I think I might do it to myself after this."
14:26 - "Which, taken out of context, could be great."
A story in three timestamps. This ep was gold as garlic butter dipping sauce.
Ryan is just a whole innuendo at this point
As a Chicagoan, there are multiple Lou Malnati's locations all throughout the midwest, & they do deliver. I think it definitely counts as a pizza chain
I love how their weirdness all matches each other. It's like watching the most perfect double date happen. Also thank you TH-cam Algorithm
Same
Not sure how Ryan can criticize Shane's pick of Lou's when he's got Shakey's and Pieology on his list.
Shakey's is legit tho. There might only be west coast ones still open, but when I was a kid they were in all parts of the country.
It's Ryan's Filipino side that chose Shakey's. We have 180+ branches of Shakey's all over the Philippines. We love that sh!t!
Ryan does not have sophisticated tastes. He’s straight up middle-America, which is funny because he’s from California.
Rhett: why would you just recreated the same thing (referring to maudes and pieology)
Ryan:
I’m glad you asked... (proceeds to not answer the question)
Ryan: You just set me up here.
Also Ryan: (changes the subject)
when ryan was talking about eating environment. man, when I was a kid I went Hard for cici's pizza. the endless little slices, the brownies, the arcade in p much every location.
If you're here because of Rhett and Link and this is your first Watcher Vid: Welcome. Please stay :)
Fun fact: My old Shakey's Pizza here in Las Vegas is now a cremation parlor.
Appropriate
So they just repurposed the ovens.
@@recoil53 Omfg
That is a fun fact!
@@recoil53 ohoohohhh my god
When the world needed it, this collaboration came through
"round table pizza is great, ghosts are real" = hysterically laughing. Loved this one.
I agree with both statements. Love Roundtable. It was where we got pizza as a family when I was a kid. 😭 and yeah ghosts fosho
These 4 men are the only men who deserve a big following on youtube.
And pewdiepie
And Jacksepticeye
And vlogbrothers
jerma,,,,,,,,
Danny Gonzalez, Drew Gooden, Scott Cramer, Call Me Kevin, and Nick Crowley imo
Also Ryan being jealous of Shane bonding with Rhett and Link was so adorable and funny😂 and Link totally roasted both Shane and Ryan and I live for that. Rhetts just in the background like “I like watching my best friend battle these morons”😂😂 favorite episode so far.
In the immortal words of Eugene Lee Yang "Shane is right, the others are wrong, shut up."
When did he say this??
I also really want to know
I don't know if he's said Shane specifically, I think they're just referring to Eugene's catch phrase from his Rank King series which is "I'm right, you're wrong, shut up"
never imagined I'd see Rhett and Link with Shane and Ryan. My two youtube-worlds colliding xD
I think Shane or Ryan should collaborate with dead meat because Rhett has already so you know...
I love this series....... The energy, the jokes, the hot takes.... CHEFS KISS
Shane and Ryan being paired together is like when your teacher pairs a good student with a lousy one in a group project so that maybe they'll both pass
Nooo
Who's lousy 😭
@@sadmermaid "This pizzas good cuz I like the mall" 😁😂😉
And not lousy in general, just lousy student.🤓
@@sadmermaid if we're going on actual knowledge, Ryan is hands down the lousy student
He thought hair grew out of brains and thru the skull
@@johanvajse8410 I think we're just talking about this particular show though: Ryan always comes in with a thought out list of arguments for his picks (even if the arguments aren't always great) and some fun facts, while Shane is just kinda like "yeah I just like it" and goes on a random tangent 😭
For the record, shakey’s had 58 stores as of 2019 and is only in California and Washington so Lou Malnati’s is ABSOLUTELY acceptable! Much love from Chicago ❤
Me a swede who lives in a small town without any pizza chains:
Yes I totally agree this is definitely something I also have an opinion on
As Central European with gluten allergy, I can relate.
Dude yeah I mean I even live in a big city in Sweden and like there is no pizza chains here as well.
@@beingsodone I live in Gothenburg and we have like 3 now? I love that we have lots of small independent places
Haha me who grew up in California but didn’t have any pizza chains either 😂 🤷♀️
@@QueenJaneway yeah I think these small independent places are much better than commercial restaurants
I just realized that Rhett and Link are sitting at their desk in their studio. Not sure why they wouldn't be but for some reason I assumed they were somewhere else.
Shane wearing that Lou Malnati's shirt the entire time gave me a sense of where this was going.
Two of the best duos on TH-cam in the same place. What a time to be alive.
Ryan's top 2 picks confirms why Shane said SoCal is a pizza desert.
+
To be fair our specialty is Asian and Mexican food, not pizzas. We'll leave the pizza to New York and Chicago.
are their pizzas really that dry?
@@DreamsageRap Not actually meaning as in physically dry. But meaning like water in a desert, it is scarce. So good pizza in SoCal is not abundant.
If you had asked me about this 2 years ago I wouldn't have believed you, how hard is pizza? But then I saw it for myself. I was out there for a few months visiting from new england and the fact that I couldn't get fresh fish or a decent pizza really threw me off. Now that I'm back home I'm missing the Mexican food HARD though. Can't win lol.
Ryan calling out Lou Malnati's for not being an available chain when Shakey's is literally only in California with two locations in Washington lmao
It annoys me more than it should honestly, maybe just because the hypocrisy has been getting more obvious if you ask me. I feel like anything that isn’t super Cali is like invalid.
To be fair, they're in Tokyo, too! They're international!
@@alicepotato2117 Yeah they're also in the Philippines though I have seen a video where they said that Shakey's has a lot of dishes that cater to Filipinos
There used to be more Shakey's in WA, the one in my town was hugely popular and I don't know why it closed.
Yeah, at least a couple of Shakey’s were in MD in the 80’s/90’s. I haven’t seen one in over 20 years.
