    Dear Friends, thank you very much for your professional review. As for the spring issue you mentioned, we made technical improvements before, at this stage, the problem of spring broken still reducing. Besides, we are always refine our production, and also commited to optimize the quality control, please believe that we can provide you with higher quality products. Thanks again.

      The spring on the scissors of my flagship pro (bigger version of this) broke with very little pressure. It happens because it comes in contact with the frame when cutting with the scissors. It's a real bummer

    I tried the full sized Nextool Multitool, and I found it to be half decent. However, I mention this because I imagine the chances happening are likely for the keychain version as well, be VERY careful on what you challenge the the scissors to do. If you clamp down on something (for me it was some plastic packaging) the blades of the scissors could become separated and fall apart. If that happens, the spring for the scissors is near impossible to get back in so be careful.

    I had it for about 2 years and was very pleased. I hardly used it, but when I needed it, it served me well. Unfortunately, after this time, all the places that carried any loads began to crack. It's more of an interesting keychain than an emergency tool I could trust.

    That’s the coolest little multitool. If it had that bottle opener like the dime it would be perfect, I also like the Dime’s little package knife for those plastic clam shells.

    • @abc456f
      @abc456f ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I get more use from the dime's package opener than any other tool on any multitool I own, dime, powerpint, wave+, surge. There's just nothing better for that hard plastic clamshell. I've had the dime for several years and still going strong. The powerpint is decent but without a flat head driver, it falls short.

    I do gotta mention (as a mechanic) I don't recommend this as a Keychain tool if your car has a traditional ignition switch with a key. 3 ounces is too much weight to be hanging off your ignition switch long term.

    Definitely NOT advisable as a keychain multitool at that weight but definitely great as urban EDC. This is perfect for anyone who doesn't like the bulk of full size multitools but need something more reliable than the dime/squirt.

    I have had my Nextool Mini Flagship for a long time, and carried it to replace a Squirt that I gave away to someone who looked like she needed it. It's a little heave for the back of the coin purse I carry it in, and the scissors (which is excellent) hurts my hand when I use it. It is worth whatever it was I paid for it. I got another Squirt recently, but this vid convinces me to go back to the Chicom Tool...

    Thank you for your opinion! I think the idea of the mini multi-tool NEXTOOL is good! Is correct! The processing quality is less good for many manufacturers in this segment! The mini multi-tool NEXTOOL is no longer listed in NEXTORCH Germany. It is still available from a few retailers and they list the materials below. 1x blade material: 5Cr15MoV. This steel is not particularly hard steel and dulls relatively quickly. 5Cr15MoV steel is a low-priced steel made in China. Many believe that the steel is too soft and dulls too quickly. This may be. On the other hand, it can also be easily sharpened. Nobody in the kitchen seems to have a problem with that. Other material "predominantly" made of 3Cr13 steel. 3Cr13 steel is a rust-resistant steel but NOT high-quality stainless steel. It's a lower-end steel that's fairly commonly used in the knife industry these days. 3Cr13 has corrosion resistance and wear resistance and is known as a "value for money" steel. Among knife makers, 3cr13 is popular for lower end knives because its price and quality allows for affordable and durable knives to be made. The 3cr13 designation follows the Chinese national standard GB/T 1220 for steel classification. Better steel would be desirable!

    Under 3oz without any plastic? That's lighter than a Victorinox Super Tinker! I carry a Huntsman daily on my keychain carabiner with no issue, I think I could definitely pack around one of these no problem!

    I think nextool is really one of if not the best multitool producer in that price range. Yes there quality control isn't perfect but because of the price it's not as big of a deal as if it happens to a Leatherman or Gerber (yes it still sucks if something is wrong). I really hope that they might release a multitool that's around the40-50bucks price range and has some better materials and quality control. I'm really curious what they might release in the future

    The Nextool mini is an impressive design. Although, would it be any good for backpacking and pocket carry? I say no!!! Sadly a great design and price point and are very impressive due to robust scissors and pliers ect. Just where does it fit into usage. it's far too heavy for backpacking and trouser pocket carry and keychain. and we all know the best multitool is on your key chain and always with you where ever you go. My set-up is. My, keychain, Leatherman Micra. My backpacking rucksack Swiss army knife Feildmaster and this is pushing the limit in weight for backpacking carry.

    Good review. I was aware of the spring issue when I bought it last year, having read a few reviews mentioning it, so I knew it was a gamble at £16 ($20) but mine has held up fine and is showing no signs of fatigue there. Overall I'd say it's better than my Squirt PS4 which has pretty poor scissors, and the Phillips on it as well as being very short is made from very soft steel and it gets burred very easily. However the file on the Squirt is better, and so is the form factor, but I don't think I've ever had to use those files. I find the backspring on it's knife a bit stronger than the one on the Squirt, I don't use either of those for any serious work but they're nice little secondary blades if I'm carrying a single bladed knife i.e. not a 91mm SAK. Overall I prefer it to my Squirt, I'll often carry it with a Vic Farmer,. The Nextool sits in my 5th pocket with a mini Bic lighter and a Lumintop EDC flashlight, Farmer off a carabiner in my back pocket.

    I bought one of these recently. The spring on the outside handle snapped off while opening it after one week. It hadn't even been used yet. The scissors have, but I can feel the spring tension changing and expect that will snap as well. This thing is a brilliant design, but the quality just isn't there. It's a shame. I wonder if the Mini Sailor Scissor version has a more robust spring. Might make it the superior tool if big scissors are what you're after. Overall the potential is great here, but very disappointed.

    I own a Leatherman Micra and a Nextool Mini. Sure, the Nextool's scissors are great for cutting PP strapping or other heavy-duty tasks. But it is completely unsuitable for cutting fingernails or small scraps of skin! Anyone who works with wood and has had to remove a splinter or two will definitely do better with the Micra! Also, the pliers are too weak for me. My EDC tool of choice is therefore the Micra. I use a knife for packages. I always carry one anyway. Also, I always keep a 300 in the glove box if I need some decent pliers...

      I just cut my nails with them today and they worked great for it. The caveat is that (I think due to the thickness of the scissor blades) they work better for the left hand if, like me, you want your nails as close to the quick as possible. Also if you just received them, check the gap and alignment of the blades and exchange as necessary. My first one, while good enough for most things, had scissors with a little too much gap and pliers that were precise but a tiny smidge misaligned. The second pair is the one I have now and is much better.

Wish I had known that before I bought the blade kit, but oh well. Since I already have a DeWalt drill, charger and batteries there was no need to buy more of those so this was a great deal.There is one other consideration. DeWalt does't sell the depth guide separately so you need to buy the three parts which make it up -- the N275350 block assy, the N275341 metal rod and the N278801 knob. Amazon does sell all three.

    From what I am seeing in the other comments, the scissors are not holding up to heavier plastic. Unfortunately, my main use of my Gerber Splice is zip ties and fingernails, both of which appear to be too much for this little tool. I just wish the Splice had a decent tool set, as I frequently find myself sorely missing tweezers and the handles are not comfortable nor easy to get a solid grip on.

    Leatherman >>>>>>> Gerber >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Nextool
    I own Leatherman and Gerber.

    Well, at least someone is happy with this tool. I love the design. If this had been done right, with good build quality, it would indeed be a powerhouse. Alas, it is a very inconsistent tool. I have two of this, and both are duds.

      It depends more on quality control rather than the tool itself. Xiaomi and its subsidiaries have decent quality control, but by cutting on the final price they will let something pass by.
      It’s still better than SOG or Gerber QC imo. Equivalent to Leatherman’s last years probably (which is also a disaster).
      So far only victorinox is consistent.

    Where is it made? Leatherman multi tools are made in America if that matters to you. Clever design though. I have both the Leatherman Micra for the scissors and the Squirt for the pliers, a bit of redundancy there.

    • @maxlvledc
      @maxlvledc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The micra has not performed well in cutting..only ones from before 2000 cut well from my experience

    Why in the world leatherman killed the juice instead of upgrading it for real

    The knife doesn't lock..... If you are going to add a non locking knife, it should open in the opposite direction, so the other handle can prevent the knife from folding on to your hand.

    Stay away from it! Cheap ball of pigeon waste (being respectful for viewers). Wore it on my keyring for a few days and scissors came apart - could have put a pea between the blades. I begged it's predecessor for forgiveness (Gerber Splice) and deposited this garbage where it belongs.

      Don't think so...but if you don't mind a little surface abrasion you can use either a locking plier or screw plier to get them apart
