I got a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife back in the 90s, and the tweezers are the only tool from that that I use regularly. The knife itself is in a box somewhere, but the tweezers are in my toiletry kit that goes with me on every trip.
I use the victorinox rambler with pen slot micarta scales. Absolute favorite
Great video! Forgot to mention that the gerber dime has a small detachable tweezer!
Love the TPT. Had my for years. It’s indestructible.
I'd take a Victorinox Rambler/Midnite Manager over all of these. But it's a personal thing. But it far exceeds all of these imo.
Midnight manager! If I got a 58mm SAK, that’d be the one!
@@matthewallen1715 Better get one soon since they've been discontinued. Can always find plenty on eBay after the retail store stock runs out though. I might get a 2nd. The SAK manager is my fav EDC.
Agreed… awesome kit with that combo tool and scissors too
Manager is awesome. I like classic SD Alox as well.
I would like to have another Rambler, but they're hard to find in Finland or the price is double the Classic SD's.
The Victorinox Midnite Manager is my keychain tool of choice. A nice compliment of tools including a flashlight.
Amazing collection and introduce
All very nice >>>>>>> Thank you .
great video.... i think you could also add thenextool mini flagship to the list
I use the Learherman Squirt.
This is a good list. One thing to note is that the standard Gerber Dime has a small blade which means it is not TSA compliant. I'm not sure if there is a version that does not have a blade. I know the Leatherman Style PS is a similar small multitool that's TSA compliant.
They discontinued the Style PS recently
@@frogturtle Thanks for the info, I didn't know that.
Is there one with a sim tool extractor and narrow Philips head screw driver for us tech geeks?
Leatherman Style PS is a missed shout. Always in my 5th pocket with my RovyVon Aurora A7. Always have a dedicated knife so dont need a blade. Having pliers scissors a small flathead and bottle opener come in handy.
Definitely dig the Leatherman Style PS! We didn’t include it as it’s technically a retired Leatherman product - still a good pickup though 🫡
can't beat the SAK
sog powerpint with a shapeways scalpel arms my got to
I absolutely love the TPT Slide. But, after losing three of them, I cannot justify buying a fourth. I guess I cannot have nice things.
Excellent je pense que le Victorinox full black est encore un autre meilleur choix aussi petit que le sd mais avec un stylo et de la lumière ! A méditer
The Dime also has tweezers, but you have to look for them.
Shame they cancelled the Leatherman Squirt and TSA-friendly Style PS. Great little tools. Gerber Dime is probably your best bet at this point
Watched a comparison and use video of keychain pry tools. kershaw was just about completely useless. Both gerber shard and mullet worked well. Good luck finding a gerber dime without a blade, not tsa compliant with the blade. been looking for years. last year gerber emailed saying they no longer manufacture it. perhaps that has changed?
Jefferson is on the $2. I think you meant Jackson for the Gerber.
The Big Idea TPT does not require you to disassemble to change the blade making it very easy to reverse/swap the blade without tools very quickly.
Came here to say just this thank you
Input on the ones I know
Gerber Shard - it’s a nice TSA friendly multi-tool, i just disliked the size though the curved pry bar created a nice bit of leverage
Kershaw PT-2 - solid TSA friendly multi-tool. The Philips is will placed and I can’t deny I’m constantly drawn to tools with a P38 style can opener which I never needed to use but there will be that one time that’ll make me look like a hero
Victorinox Classic - go with the Victorinox Rambler instead. Seriously, that’s the best mini SAK. it’s got a small Philips which is great for those battery covers, the ever useful nail file, scissors for breaking down boxes, and scissors for cutting those pesky tags
Gerber Dime - I’ve tried and I just don’t like it. It’s heavy, the every tool is too short, lacks a Philips which I find more useful than a flathead, and the metal is soft making the scissors near useless. Plus it’s bulky and heavy for such a small tool
The TPT slide is fixed blade and not UK friendly for edc unless you have good reason to carry it.
Don’t buy the Gerber Shard. I had a job that required me to pry off battery compartments a lot and I went through 4 of them because I didn’t want to spend a ton, but needed a pry bar. I heard good and bad but figured i would give it a shot. All of them snapped or bent beyond repair. Dog shit product.
I would give up after the second try
I have had a shard for over a decade, and I love it. Beware: amazon reviews show that there are knockoffs floating around that break really easily.
Sounds like you had a bad batch or had fakes
Somebody is buying the eBay/AliExpress knockoffs.....
For someone who doesn't want an ugly bottle opener on their multitool, it is a near impossible mission to find one without a bottle opener 😂😂
The Gerber Dime is NOT "TSA compliant". 4:54
You’ve missed the Roxom M3. Definitly a candidate winner
That's the TPT slide, the tpt is a button deploy and doesn't have a pocket clip, plus it's $20 cheaper. Id trade my tpt slide for a standard tpt any day, I hate my slide.
Headphones container/charger, and Phone... Don't forget that!
You forgot the tweezers on the dime.
The Dime has the standard horrible Gerber ergonomics, but the price and tool set make it perfect for me 👍
You do not have to unscrew the TPT to replace the blade
You are correct, and we should’ve made mention of that. Like many, we’ve had some trouble with the recommended blade swap procedure, and opted for this safer method in this video 👍
Thats not a O ring...it's called a split ring
Es sind nur 8 Werkzeuge, aber in Titel steht 9. ???
I have once made a mistake of buying the Micra - that's how I lost 40€, why I consider it a mistake? Scissors aren't aligned at the tip and cutting paracord is a difficulty, tweezers are garbage, only the bottle opener proved to be useful. Also I don't like how LM is forcing the micra, come on, everybody knows Squirt was better!
i HATE the nite ize doohickey. It can't open a bottle worth a damn
Many of these tools are vastly different from each other so obviously dont compare well. The doohickey is a great simple prybar if you don't have a daily heavy-duty use application, travel friendly. The shard isn't flat which makes it bulky and annoying. Pryma I wanted to like but it's so pointy and sharp that it stabs you inside your pockets and catches on your clothing. The Kershaw is useless as a pry, too thick, philips screwdriver a joke. Classic SD a timeless tool but useless for prying. A nice keychain pen knife and scissors. Go for the Manager or Rambler though, slightly thicker, but includes the 3d philips and even a pen. Dime is in another category, unfair to compare. Bigger, heavier ,includes pliers. "James Brand" - absolute rip off, buy the doohickey. Micra is nice if the toolset is right for you, also bigger and heavier though. TPT slide is a lot for what it is. Like the utility, but you can achieve that for a lot less $
The Classic SD is overrated.
I got a Nextool Mini Flagship and threw my venerable SAK in my sock drawer. Its no bigger but far more functional and puts the gerber dime to shame. Also better than the leatherman micra imo because the micra does not have pliers. Its my top pick EDC keychain tool . . . although you did not review it in this video. th-cam.com/video/eZE2EbRrHbA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ae43tq9pV9yPPuMF
