You may already know but SKINTH SOLUTIONS. They make all kinds of pouches. Anything you want all sizes. Edit: those camera bags fall apart I've tried them. Now don't get me wrong I've not bought any skinth pouches but it's all Ive found that is a good custom option that hand made for gear by a guy who couldn't find what he wanted so he made it his self.
You may already be aware of this, but there are these cool sockets I bought off Amazon callled "Gator Grip". There are two different sized versions, both USA made. They work in a pinch and I carry mine with me everywhere alongside my SOG multitool (has a standard bit holder center mounted, which is nice). Just to warn you, they are are awesome, but they aren't a replacement for my SK set, nor the Wright set I inherited from my grandfather. I also don't much care if I lose one of my Gator Grips.
good kit. I suggest maybe a small many 16's crescent that opens to 3/4" and a Japanese crescent wrench. I often carry those two and have some other tools and I fix multi-million dollar machines sometimes with just what's in my pockets. I have been looking for a new multi tool. and based upon this review I will now carry the surge in my EDC fix most shit kit. . *thank you*.
I just ordered most of what was on your list. I needed a small kit that could do 80-90% of jobs I do at work, and fit in a go bag. Thanks. Edit: I just received my Surge and I am absolutely in Awe of how sharp the blade came. I don’t think I’ve ever received a knife that would shave hair out of the box. The fit and finish of the tool is pristine. For 3/4 of the transformation it is smooth, last quarter is where everything tightens into place. There is absolutely no wiggle or flex. It is a straight up beast of a tool. It fit perfectly into a leather pancake holster I bought for a Gerber Suspension. I barely notice the extra weight between Suspension and Surge when it’s on my Kore Gun belt. Although I wanted the Black and stainless version, I have to say the all stainless is a beauty. It really is nice tool of marvel and ingenuity. My only regret is not buying it years sooner. But I suspect this will last me into my old age.
Hi Todd. A very useful tool. I got mine from my dad. Use it extensively. Saved a racing car from burning out(long story). Keep it close by for self defence when walking or hiking.
Worked with a fella that was in love with that show, he constantly made references to ‘MacGyver’. This from a guy that would struggle to open the hood on his vehicle. Never watched the show. Lol
OMG. This is exactly the type of tool set that I want for EDC. I can pull out the Surge for actual carry but have the kit for bike rides, hiking, backpacking, etc. More importantly, I can get a bicycle multi-tool separately and bike repair kit to put in my rack for longer rides on my trike. Amazing. I will start gathering the items now. The primary reason for the Surge is the replaceable saw blades. You can find sets with different teeth per inch for differing projects or results. Adding in the fire starter was genius. I might even find that replacement whistle from the outdoor version to pop in there in case I ride over a cliff.
Had my surge for 6 months. I think it’s time to get the bit kit. Got myself a dremel , so now have quite a lot of capabilities with my first home tool kit. Still impressed by Leather mans build quality and company customer service.

My Surge years ago came with the older stretchy pouch that is a combo of both those newer ones and with more compartments but no bigger. I have all shown there, minus the sockets, plus a small set of 1/4'' bits with a ratchet wrench in the front, another Skeletal Leatherman on a side pocket for 2 pliers, a 4'' adjustable wrench and a firestarter on the other side, My Surge slides in an out easily, I carry my flashlight separately, my buddy loves it.That's a cool setup you have,
excellent video Todd! I am a long time surge fan, it's got me through many a job. One technique I use is opening the tool halfway into an L-shape when using the screwdriver. It can give some good leverage. The only thing that finally broke it was opening coconuts in the Philippines! First the knife to cut off the husk, then I would use the awl to punch a hole and then the saw to cut a window to drink the coconut water inside. Even then it didn't break fully just got loose and they still replaced it for free.
You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar! I've had my Supertool for the past 20 year and never dreamt of replacing it. I have ordered the Surge :-) This is the best Leatherman video ever. Thanks!
I carry a lot of these tools including the surge itself in a belt pack from maxpedition that I keep on my hip whenever I leave the house. It’s nice to see someone else carrying similar equipment with them as I do.
Perfect, compact kit. If you're not too particular about the blade sheath being tied up along with the bit kits, you can just keep that separate and lay it diagonally to avoid that extra long wood blade from poking through the case 😉
So I spent weeks going through this exact same process. Exact same tools. Exact same problems, but trying to find something that will fit nicely and organized in a motorcycle tank bag. I was at the "maybe a camera bag will work" step when TH-cam decided to recommend your video. Perfect.
I really like this . Thanks. I carry a leatherman and use it hourly when not asleep. I learned a lot from this and will definitely use these ideas. One difference that I will make is that I would carry two pouches on my belt. One with the leatherman and nothing else.. for a quick grab or snip or slice, and another bulkier pouch with all those great accessories that are so necessary, but only on a daily or weekly basis.
I’ve got the second sheath you showed, and I fit both parts of the bit kit, the extra blades, and an extra key for my jeep and have no problem closing it or getting anything out. You just need to wear it in.
i also carry a Surge daily for the past 6yrs. i also make my own file sets by grinding the but end to the shape of the bosh blades. a small flashlight and space pen complete the set.
That's really good. FYI - Leatherman makes tweezers that slide into the frame without need of modification. They have an angled bend on the end instead of a little plastic nub.
I thoroughly enjoyed your in depth review on how much the Surge is capable of doing with a few extra add on's, such as saw blades and sockets. Plus the camera bag as a handy tool bag. Anything more would really defeat the purpose of a pocket carry multi-tool. Next level: Snap-On Top cab and Leatherman's world beater. The inbuilt air compressor and TIG welder.
I recently purchased a surge as an EDC/just in case tool to bring along on motorcycle rides. But thanks to your ideas, I can make that kit much more useful to carry along on the bike. Thanks!
I have the Surge too with the side pockets sleath. In the extra compartment I did the same as you, I put a wood blade, a metal blade and the files that comes with the Surge. In the pockets I have a flashlight and a small marker. As for the bits, I glow it back to back and put it on an old leatherman blast sleath. I ware two sleaths on my belt almost every day and i'm always ready to go.
Thanks for posting! I have a similar setup, with full sized allen hex and sockets in TITANIUM ! saves my hip & knee and discovered that I walk more straight without side of pants falling! (true story) Thanks and cheers!
This is what I’m trying to gradually do with my Surge, too. I love the T-shank adapter, the bit kit, but I’d also love to have a ratcheting adapter. I tried to make one but it broke during use. I would also like the toolkit to be able to work with my lighter, and more often carried SuperTool 300M. The 300M has the bit kit adapter, a pry bar, and a very nice awl/carbon scraper. It also comes in a coyote scales, with black tools color scheme. It is meant to be a poor man’s MUT.
3:50 I've recently bought the surge which comes with a nylon sheath standard now. The included sheath looks the same but it appears they made it bigger now, because it comfortably fits the two bit kits plus the surge, saw/file holder, and driver extender without any issues.
Todd you've inspired me to upgrade to this toolkit configuration you have going on and let me just say as a low voltage tech the leatherman surge and the accessories it comes with gets you by pretty far..but this toolkit..man this toolkit replaces half the things in my tool bag while being on my belt Thank you for sharing this to the world 🌎
I think you’ve got it a little bit twisted, sir. Leatherman does not make professional tools. They are intended to be more of a last resort in emergency situations. I’m an electrician and would never use my leatherman on a job. Professionals use dedicated tools. Seeing a fellow electrician or any other tradesman use one of these on a job would be absolutely cringe-worthy.
Thanks a million. I have a similar set-up for my Leatherman Wave+. But it doesn’t have the saws or the sockets. So, I may have to rethink this a bit and switch to the Surge kit as you have done. Well done. You are a role model for us all. Thanks a million.😊
Hmmmm, my Surge that I bought at Bass Pro shop about 2 years ago came with the leather sheath that has pockets on both sides as well as a slot inside to keep a few extra saw-blades and a bit kit! I keep a little flashlight and a Fisher space pen in the two side pockets. With a pen, all the tools on the surge, and a flashlight it's like the ultimate EDC tool for most uses. :) Leatherman makes some great stuff. With how many times I've been super glad to have it with me it was totally worth the $95 it cost. And I have a Micra on my ketchain, which comes in handy super often if I don't have the Surge with me.
Awesome, practical, ...complete. Thank you Todd for sharing this well thought through assembly. Today is the eve of my purchase of the Surge (lost/misplaced my 20 yr. old Schrade M-T), and after some research, this video helps cements the idea that this is a slam dunk choice as my Multi-tool going forward. Robert.
I too use camera bags for mini-BOBS or Go-Bags. Another option is to use Thule bags which you sort have considered at the beginning of your video but their brand are thicker and higher quality. I use one to keep all my diabetic supplies and another for writing supplies but they would great for a Surge toolkit. First aid, fire starting, and water filtration kits are other important things to put into these types of camera bags.
I have a kit with the following: Leatherman Surge, Leatherman Crunch, bit kit, bit extender, universal tool adapter w/bits (Discontinued), and a Uptell 1/4" Ratchet Wrench. All is housed in Skinth Mondo shield. I've repaired more things at work with that kit then the massively expensive tool set they purchased.
Best minimalist type of kit. By far yours is the most compact. Maybe I'll add a Knipex cobra XS, the smallest and that's all. I would love to see a bigger sized kit for maybe a car or truck etc. Something that would have all the other stuff usually found in EDC kits
I have the small knipex now and they are great. I put together a proper tool bag recently but it’s a bit bigger than a car kit. More of a around the house and portable tool set. Maybe I’ll make a video, people love tools!
EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT VIDEO I SUBSCRIBED!! You made my decision to purchase the Surge very much easier. I'm going to be a copy cat! Lol. Everyone says I wear a bat belt and laughs anyway. Yet when they need something I'm the first one they ask! Thank you...
I enjoyed this very much. I am not alone in this world. I am similarly obsessive in this regard. It all started for me with the Choinard (Patagonia) expedition sewing kit (maybe 1980). I had several over the years, and then started making them myself. The little kit became a substantially larger one that covers a wider range of field repairs, but it is modular so that it can be separated and used based on the specific activity. I also put together a miniature tool kit specific to my bicycle with the help of the Snap-on tool guy and Park Tools that I have been using for 20 years. Thanks for the great content, but now I am thinking of how to improve my kit(s) based on what you posted - here we go again...
Been there got the t-shirt. My solution was two pouches. The standard pouch for the surge and a second leatherman pouch (small) for the accessories and extender. I have a small flashlight too (v. usefull!). As I have more than one leatherman this split works really well. Ok, it does take up space on the belt but then you don't need both all the time. I don't have sockets. It seems to me that if sockets are required then you're going beyond a multitool and looking at a larger tool kit.
Hygiene/shaving kit bag. Is what I ended up with putting my kit together. I got a kobalt driver/metric, sae kit with small driver. Came with a tiny box full of 1/4 inch bits torx.. I threw all that in the kit with my leatherman and a headlamp. Done.
Great video helped in making my decision. I was able to get everything in the original Leatherman sheath minus the socket set. I did get the bits, the extender, the extra saw blades plus the wood saw blade and the four inch ratchet. No problems with fit and ease of extracting everything out.
Wow! Very cool! Thank you for sharing 👍! If Leatherman Marketing hasn’t called you yet to discuss royalties if / when they come out with a branded version of this, the head of their marketing should be fired on the spot. Great idea!!!!
I carry a wave and everyone I work with use to give me crap about carrying it every day now they all carry leathermans I don't leave home without it fits perfect in my hip pocket on cinch jeans I think what you're looking for is a service truck lol great video
I just got a wave plus and love the thing. Cutters are nice and sharp, used it on some old useless ethernet and then satellite tv cord, cut through it real smooth, sharp blade, serrated is great aswell. Overall love the thing. Handy for carrying around instead of finding 15 different tools all which don't work. I'm sure the Surge is the real deal for just the most diverse extreme repairs just i thought id try the wave to see how i like them.
To get better purchase on phillps or torx heads, it grind down a regular bit shank to fit into the bit holder and to keep thongs compact, I got a ratcheting extension. I also got the xl sheath for my Surge and half the bits, and extra saw blades, my Knipex Cobra pliers and one of my AAA or AA sized flashlights. If I need to carry more tools, I load up the molle sheath that comes with the Surge.
it seems that your small bag is for apocalypse survival bag for real, the ultimate edc tool kit. i am impressed, and totally agree that surge is best tool ever.
Terrific ideas! I’ve slowly been adding accessories to my Surge as well and this looks like just the thing I need to keep everything together so I don’t have to go looking for things. Thanks!
A man after my own heart. Bro, this was very comprehensive and exactly what I was looking for. My brain works this exact same way and I am very impressed with your video
the best video I've seen on you tube, top presentation of the organization around the Letherman Surge! really informative and smart! exactly what i was looking for. finally someone who organizes and optimizes thinking around a portable tool, thanks for the really great tips!!! cheer
I bought The Surge a while back, but I found myself not using it much because it is too big and heavy. I now carry a Leatherman Signal, mainly because it has a built in carabiner, so I just clip it on my belt loop on my jeans. I have a small ratchet similar to yours, but mine is 1/4 inch on one side, and 5/16 on the other side. I carry a couple of bits in my pocket. I can fix 99%of what I run into with that. Anything else, I just go get my tool pouch.
Cool. This was always a car/backpack toolkit for me because of the weight. I got a Skeletal and still felt was a bit heavy for EDC and now carry a Squirt PS4 for little everyday things. Still use my surge kit quite a bit though!
Have you looked at Universal sockets? You might find one or two of those in different sizes would cover all socket sizes you'd need and save on space and weight.
@@happytrails5342 Not sure if anyone's stress tested it, I'd imagine the failure point would be a ratchet mechanism or perhaps if there was any play between the sprung pieces within the socket. Mine are very tightly packed so feel very positive when in use.
@@nathangutteridge2376 yeah? If I used just the but extender no ratchet, I feel like the failure would be in the H shaped bottom of the bit holder. But still feels crazy strong
Thanks for this. I have been considering a multitool for about a year. There are so many Leatherman models to pick from. Thanks for showing me why you like the Surge. I usually already carry a couple of pocket knives but this would be nice to have around for when a pocket knife just won't cut it.
I still love my Surge but be warned it’s pretty heavy so I don’t carry it like my pocket knife. I grab it when I need to do a small project and leave it in the car as a mini toolbox
Skinth Solutions is where to go for larger sized pouches, especially if you want to belt carry. They're a bit more expensive, but very well made. I have three, love them.
Yes I have one ! It cost $120.00 with belt seath ! Extra for any accessory attachments! Like for different types of screws. And for the most part they are guaranteed for life! So long as there's no abuse, meaning using the tool other than what it's meant to be used for! The only problem is , you got to have two sets. Because if you're only own one set, and you lose one, you don't have none! But if you have two, and lose one, you still have one!
I used double sided tape to bundle all the bits and saws together. Just put the bit kits back to back, use the double sided tape to adhere and sandwich the saw sleeve in the middle (bend or cut the opening to still be accessible), and zip tie the bit kit loops together.
Great kit setup. Plenty of great ideas for my own kit build. the only thing I’ll change is swapping the sockets for a small 100mm Adjustable spanner - if I need sockets then a proper toolkit might be the go. But great video thank you for sharing!
Awesome Solution! I like this. A friend JUST bought me the Leatherman Surge for Christmas, I will be looking into something like this! Thank you for the great tips!
Snake wrap the mini ratchet with paracord (olive green👍) adds width to fit in the sheaths also grip and you of have some paracord just in case. I have same set up for my surge and wave plus.
I like what you came up with! I have a surge and a kydex sheath that just holds the surge only. very streamlined fits on my belt nice. So Im just going to get the case to store all the other tools you have and then add more... lol
I use my daily in a steel mill and it's so handy. I have an older model that doesn't have the replaceable wire cutters but I've cut 1/8 inch 7018 welding rods with it no problem!
Not a bad kit and interesting to see for sure. More of a car kit for me, but then I'd go for a proper socket set anyway l, because I'm obviously not carrying it. I like how you carry the saw blades and will actually steal this idea from you, so thank you for that one!
Yeah, I don’t EDC this, it’s either in my car or junk drawer for quick repairs. I also grab it when I think I might need some tools but don’t want to commit to my toolbox
thank you todd! I've been thinking about a kit a like this for a long time but didnt really know how to make it happen and you sure did make it clearer for me thanks for the share and i wish you a great day be safe !
ive used a lot of these mods, one thing i do different is i still use the pouch, ive added an ikea measuring tape, the free paper ones, 1m long and tiny!
Truly nice set up. I’m surprised that the blackened Surge doesn’t show the wear and tear. I e always gone for tge straight silver. Kudos to leatherman on their black oxide costing. I dare say it is tough.
Great ideas. Happy to report that Leathermans bit extender now comes in a ratcheting option. I would also still put a light in the case for an EDC kit. I know the Leatherman case you showed has the room for a Pen Light and many are on the market or there are many small options for when you are checking things or need to do work with a bit of extra light.
@@christianjensen405 There are places and jobs I don't want to stick my phone to see. A phone light also has one wider beam while a pen light can go over a small area or job such as putting your hand with the light into the hood of a car to find the issue(s). The pen light fits in MANY, if not all, of the sheath options for the Leatherman Surge that Leatherman and even other companies sell so it can be very easily accessed from my belt. If you are bending over and doing things that require just a small beam instead of the light output of a phone there are many reasons that electricians, mechanics, and tradesman keep a pen light on them. It can also allow you to shine the light on an issue and use your phone for just the photo or note aspect on an issue as well. As someone who does have to lock my phone for security reasons and my hands may be "well worn" so the finger print button only works so well if I have worked really hard and my hands have worn down or even when I have recently put lotion on a external light is much easier than taking out my phone in a Otterbox case(because it is around heavy and large smashy things) and then potentially taking off my gloves and depending on feature needed, needing to unlock the phone. A small pen light to whip out is much easier. My phone will also not be covered in everything from manure to mud and wet sloppy snow and require cleaning. It costs me time to take off my gloves and even finger swipe to get the phone light one vs a button I can push with my gloves still on, even winter gloves. I'd rather a pen light be "harmed" for less than $100 than a several hundred dollar or even over a thousand dollar (not mine, but some are) phone. You can see into pipes, crevices, and even containers such as checking fluids on a car that can be hard to see or down a pipe. A phone would not allow for this and does obstruct your view. A good pen light is easily rechargeable and will last for years even when dropped or in "unkind" situations. This is why tradesmen/women prefer pen lights over phone lights.
I was really impressed with this video. I’m looking for a new multi tool and I think I want this one. I really like the fact that you use these items and you have adapted it to your needs. Thank you.
This is a great video and I love what you've done, I wouldn't have thought of using a camera bag for tool storage so thanks for planting the thought! My only concern is that over time, those saw blades will destroy the zip.

If you can have he the extra tool, the separate micro rachet is really useful and means you can take it easy on your Leatherman
Leatherman sells a ratchet now.
3:50 I've recently bought the surge which comes with a nylon sheath standard now. The included sheath looks the same but it appears they made it bigger now, because it comfortably fits the two bit kits plus the surge, saw/file holder, and driver extender without any issues.
Todd you've inspired me to upgrade to this toolkit configuration you have going on and let me just say as a low voltage tech the leatherman surge and the accessories it comes with gets you by pretty far..but this toolkit..man this toolkit replaces half the things in my tool bag while being on my belt
Thank you for sharing this to the world 🌎
I think you’ve got it a little bit twisted, sir.
I added a 711L rarchet head and torque wrench that are compatible with the surge and I keep a box of security bits in my edc bag. Good video.
Definitely one of the better edc kits I've seen! Very cool! 👍
Thanks a million. I have a similar set-up for my Leatherman Wave+. But it doesn’t have the saws or the sockets. So, I may have to rethink this a bit and switch to the Surge kit as you have done. Well done. You are a role model for us all. Thanks a million.😊
Very welcome!
This kind of pouch is EXACTLY what I've been envisioning in my head! Thanks for the great ideas!
@@todd.parker absolutely. I'd love to see that took bag as well. Need inspiration to make mine too.
that is an amazing mini toolkit ... I have to make one like that for myself
I've set my Surge up in almost the exact same way, except for the ratchet. I'll have to add that one in.
Excellent video! I can see that watching your videos will be costing me money, in a good way! Thanks.
Ha, sorry...not sorry
Actually I gave this another whirl and I must say a super comprehensive video. I think it has inspired me to build my own. Thanks a bunch Todd
I’d put the actual multi tool in my pocket and wear the little pouch thing on my belt
Hi Todd,
Real neat presentation.
I am going to make up ur pouch for my 15-year-old surge.
Tx & God Bless
Hygiene/shaving kit bag.
Is what I ended up with putting my kit together.
I got a kobalt driver/metric, sae kit with small driver. Came with a tiny box full of 1/4 inch bits torx.. I threw all that in the kit with my leatherman and a headlamp.
Done.
Great video helped in making my decision. I was able to get everything in the original Leatherman sheath minus the socket set. I did get the bits, the extender, the extra saw blades plus the wood saw blade and the four inch ratchet. No problems with fit and ease of extracting everything out.
Wow that’s great
Wow! Very cool! Thank you for sharing 👍! If Leatherman Marketing hasn’t called you yet to discuss royalties if / when they come out with a branded version of this, the head of their marketing should be fired on the spot. Great idea!!!!
Thanks, I appreciate that!
I think this was the best video yet regarding this type set up. Very well thought out . Thanks . G.Speight
Great ideas. I'm constantly tweeking my edc. It's become a hobby I enjoy.
The stealth you ordered off Amazon is made for the smaller leatherman tools. The XL is made for the larger tools like the Surge.
it seems that your small bag is for apocalypse survival bag for real,
the ultimate edc tool kit.
i am impressed,
and totally agree that
surge is best tool ever.
Terrific ideas! I’ve slowly been adding accessories to my Surge as well and this looks like just the thing I need to keep everything together so I don’t have to go looking for things. Thanks!
Oh it's you again, boomer
A man after my own heart. Bro, this was very comprehensive and exactly what I was looking for. My brain works this exact same way and I am very impressed with your video
Mind meld
I did the same thing. But I found a nice case with Mollie straps and I added a first aid kit and I put my blades in a plastic tube with a little oil.
the best video I've seen on you tube, top presentation of the organization around the Letherman Surge! really informative and smart! exactly what i was looking for. finally someone who organizes and optimizes thinking around a portable tool, thanks for the really great tips!!! cheer
Wow, thanks!
Dude I love this. I don’t need the sockets but I’ll be duplicating the rest of your kit. Well done 👍
Wow this opens to me and my surge a whole new World of possibilities
Have you looked at Universal sockets? You might find one or two of those in different sizes would cover all socket sizes you'd need and save on space and weight.
Thats a good idea, I wonder how much strength the surge bit holder has, that's what worries me
@@happytrails5342 Not sure if anyone's stress tested it, I'd imagine the failure point would be a ratchet mechanism or perhaps if there was any play between the sprung pieces within the socket. Mine are very tightly packed so feel very positive when in use.
@@nathangutteridge2376 yeah? If I used just the but extender no ratchet, I feel like the failure would be in the H shaped bottom of the bit holder.
But still feels crazy strong
@@happytrails5342 I think you're probably right, plus I don't think using it that way would apply anywhere close to enough torque to risk failure
@@nathangutteridge2376 yeah fair enough!
This is probably the best tool edc idea/video I have ever watched! Excellent idea/work!
Wow, thanks!
Great pouch usage idea!
Leatherman pouch works really well
Skinth Solutions is where to go for larger sized pouches, especially if you want to belt carry. They're a bit more expensive, but very well made. I have three, love them.
Hard to argue with practical excellence...
Yu literally just handled all myy business in 10 mins! Thanks! I’m getting this exact kit todayy
Great to hear!
WOW, Thank you so much. I just ordered a similar camera case. You saved me a ton of time.
I used double sided tape to bundle all the bits and saws together. Just put the bit kits back to back, use the double sided tape to adhere and sandwich the saw sleeve in the middle (bend or cut the opening to still be accessible), and zip tie the bit kit loops together.
Really nice little kit
Great kit setup. Plenty of great ideas for my own kit build. the only thing I’ll change is swapping the sockets for a small 100mm Adjustable spanner - if I need sockets then a proper toolkit might be the go.
But great video thank you for sharing!
Yes, or a Knipex 125 or XS
Awesome Solution! I like this. A friend JUST bought me the Leatherman Surge for Christmas, I will be looking into something like this! Thank you for the great tips!
Snake wrap the mini ratchet with paracord (olive green👍) adds width to fit in the sheaths also grip and you of have some paracord just in case. I have same set up for my surge and wave plus.
I like what you came up with! I have a surge and a kydex sheath that just holds the surge only. very streamlined fits on my belt nice. So Im just going to get the case to store all the other tools you have and then add more... lol
The kit just grows and grows
Going to add a 12oz hammer next. Kidding.
I use my daily in a steel mill and it's so handy. I have an older model that doesn't have the replaceable wire cutters but I've cut 1/8 inch 7018 welding rods with it no problem!
I have the surge bit kits, extension, etc.. been working on the same issue.. thanks. 👍🏻
Great job! ignore the dislikes, they themselves are just a bunch of tools with a few screws loose.
A great camera case solution. Nice video
excellent review. Minus the ratched, I have an older model of this tool. The camera case is a great idea.
Glad it was helpful!
thank you todd! I've been thinking about a kit a like this for a long time but didnt really know how to make it happen and you sure did make it clearer for me thanks for the share and i wish you a great day be safe !
A little late but uncle Mike's sliver gripper tweezers are great for tiny stuff, metal splinters, and even have a keychain hanger.
Good call, those look useful
ive used a lot of these mods, one thing i do different is i still use the pouch, ive added an ikea measuring tape, the free paper ones, 1m long and tiny!
Truly nice set up. I’m surprised that the blackened Surge doesn’t show the wear and tear. I e always gone for tge straight silver. Kudos to leatherman on their black oxide costing. I dare say it is tough.
Yeah, it's held up well. Plenty of scuffs but it's solid overall.
I’d put in the kit 1/4 breaker bar to extend the life of that micro ratchet and the surge as well.
Keychain Milwaukee tape is a major improvement ;)
Great ideas. Happy to report that Leathermans bit extender now comes in a ratcheting option. I would also still put a light in the case for an EDC kit. I know the Leatherman case you showed has the room for a Pen Light and many are on the market or there are many small options for when you are checking things or need to do work with a bit of extra light.
I dont really see the need for a light if that size personally, the phone covers that job quite well and it is always in the pocket :)
Lots of people have suggested to just angle the longer blades, or file them down a bit
Camera bag, BRILLIANT !
