    The version originally on the Play Store was with the vocoder installed, however it was pulled and existing installations were 'upgraded' without fanfair. It is possible this has something to do the license of the AMBE vocoder used.

    Thank you by your video, yes you're right, now on days in which we must to save energy RoIP direct links its a good manner to do this.
    And may be this is a good impulse for the growing of the Network Radios. But...
    In my own experience the big issue is the absence of the real AMBE vocoder, you really perceibe that. You may connect one yes, but to much procesding load for a small smartphone in nany times I guess.
    Better option for me, DVSwitch, in which a separate server can hold the AMBE dongle and code/decode in a much more apropiate CPU. In my opinion.
    Today in Brandmeister could be the Master Server hold a software vocoder, and the server directly listen to a Universal RoIP client like Moomla or Zello.
    But yes, for many, you are showing the most simple solution. And many thanks for about that. 73 de CE2DJA.

    • @YoshiLecaros
      @YoshiLecaros ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @@radiosification yes that's fully understandable. But when we decided to link our radios with Networks, from exactly this moment, it's valid to think skipping the radio gateway some times or absolutely, I mean.
      I know some fellows that they decided don't use their radios anymore, after they knew about DroidStar. Let's imagine the cost of a radio that works in DMR, NXDN, YSF, DS and so on? For many the temptation is enormous. LOL
      I believe it is valid to include these RoIP options as one of the real ways to access our Telecommunications Systems, sharing their favorable and unfavorable aspects, with the detail that it deserves. Thanks for your video, 73.

    If you think you can only get a couple of miles using Simplex FM you are simply not trying, 20 miles is easy in the open and I have talked to people 50 miles away simplex without a repeater. Sure with repeaters you can go much further and my local ones are linked to Echolink and other networks at certain times so the world your oyster. You have to master each mode seperately and become an expert in it. I am a DMR fan have hotspots too as well as HF radio and SDRs. Keep up with the excellent videos though! 73 de M0RLF
