That is an insane quote. You cant even justify the rest as labor. This is small/easy job that would only take 30 mins tops. She's lucky she found an honest mechanic to handle it.
I just finished changing the spark plugs on my girls 16' Elantra, those things were brown and the tips looked almost rusted/corroded. My spark plugs were "pre-gapped" as well but I double checked them just to be safe...1 out of the 4 was gapped correctly. I had to adjust the other 3 (btw for the 16' Elantra it's 0.044). I did it one by one as I didn't want to leave an open cylinder. Super easy and I like how detail you are sir. Great job.
$76 for an air filter, over $70 per spark plug, over $200 per coil pack and $100 for shop supplies? What a bunch of scammers! How these shops even survive is beyond me!
Pep boys quoted my daughter 340 dollars for sparks plugs replacement on her 2021 Elantra. It took me 20 minutes to do the job and $40.00 for sparks plugs
Hey man, great video. I'm definitely subscribed. Didn't know it was that easy. That quote is definitely an inflation quote. Thanks for the video man. Question, is it always nessesary to change the coil packs when changing the spark plugs? Can they not be reused?
$1800 for sparkplugs, coilpacks, and air filter?! That shop has to be the biggest scam ever I had to pay $700 for a shop to "fix my ac" and they butchered my fuse box and never fixed my ac. But this is a new record
Silly question, as I'm no mechanic, and I want to try this on my own. What is the tan piece on the end of the socket piece to pull out the spark plug? Thanks in advance.
I was using a magnet to pull out the spark plugs after I loosen them. The spark plug socket has a little rubber piece inside it that usually holds on to the spark plug after you undo it 👍👍

I know, I was shocked on how much they wanted.

I definitely agree on checking the gaps 👍👍

Thanks for the sub!
No, it is not necessary to change the coil packs when you change the spark plugs
The person whose car I was repairing wanted to replace all of them because one went bad 👍

The easiest tune-up ever it only took me a half an hour from start to finish
$100 of that $1,800 estimate was for the air filter which took seconds to put in
thank you for this brother, by chance did you have to adjust the spark plugs?
The spark plugs came pregapped 👍👍👍
A shop told me $3000 for a tune up. I have a 2015 Hyundai elantra. Just hit 100,000 mi
Did those Duralast coils work out ok? Some people were saying they weren’t “good enough”. But if they work, I’ll get them.
They worked great 👍👍
Whats that lube you're putting inside the coil packs and do i need to use it
Dielectric grease, it👍 is good to use on automotive parts then maybe exposed to water
@@1020autorebuild thank you. Getting ready to change my plugs and coils. Good thing I decided to watch a video if not I would have not used it
