What the other princes did to Jyggalag was truly horrible. Not only was he turned into what he hated most, but he was forced into a cycle where it happens again & again. Jyggalag, the Prince of Order, is turned into Sheogorath, the Prince of Madness... who is again turned into Jyggalag, the Prince of Order... and so on and so on... for all eternity. Each "personality" (manifestation?) hates the other with a passion, as they are exact opposites. Each one gets a fleeting taste of freedom only to be imprisoned again.
Sheogorath builds a great realm of madness. New era comes. For 24 hours Jyggalag manifests, destroys everything and tries to repair the order.....then Sheogorath returns and he is left with nothing. Even in the maddned state, he still made a plan AND IT WORKED AND HE STILL BEAT THEIR CURSE. I hope some time in the future they work together and just beat up other DPs.

Saddest part in the game, Uriel VII, Martin, the Cheydinhal sanctuary, even Lucian, all put to shame by this. You want sad you need to give your audience a loss of something that otherwise brings them unrestricted joy. It can’t just be person died, you feel sad now, you the player need to lose an emotional investment.
Its really funny when The Hero of Kvatch/The Champion of Cyrodiil spent the last days of the 3rd Era stopping a Daedric Prince to ending up becomming one 😂
Whether you believe that Sheogorath is sad in the way of a painter forced to burn his art, or if he truly cares about his followers, it makes no difference. This is easily one of the saddest things that ever came out of the writers at Bethesda's sick, sick minds.
@@dmitrorobinson8991 All Skyrim did was reference the previous game. The idea thar every protagonist did everything is ludicrous and nonsensical to me. Sheogorath would damn well know about the Oblivion crisis you know because he's a daedric prince and would be interested in the outcome like the other princes. He did create a portal to his realm during that time to begin with. Regardless there should have a Jyaggalag quest. Remember he was freed from his curse. He benefits from the greymarch being permanently stopped too. It could be argued he wanted that outcome to end the neverending cycle.

Rare example of excellent Bethesda writing
Rare? Or did you mean quality of this caliber specifically
I can't but imagine the voice actor when he sees the unflinching face of the character after working himself to exertion to express all the range of emotions
Sheogorath has the best looking character in the whole game
still a kino scene though
Wes Johnson probably finds it as part of the charm
Maybe I should reformulate the sentence. "I can't but imagine the voice actor working himself to exertion dubbing this"
wes johnson loves oblivion so i think it would amuse him
Seeing him so genuinely defeated was sad honestly. I know he eventually is alright, but this was a genuinely sad scene.
Even more sad when you realize that he really cares

Yeah, and when you start talking to him you can just FEEL that something is wrong. Like Jyggalag took him over already.
2:22 love the little detail of Sheogorath's colorful aura becoming pale and silvery while he metamorphs into Jyggalag.

Its okay Jyggalag. You're free now. We will take care of the Isles.

Dude, fuck Lucien! I was sadder during that questline when he forced me to kill the entire chapter.
That's the problem with a lot of writing now, authors don't bother to get people to connect to the characters enough before they're gone.

It's sad because Sheo and Jyg are speaking as one here. They both wish that this plan comes to fruition and they both think they failed.

And his subjects too

I'm still "not bitter" we didn't get a Jyaggalag quest or even a mention. Wasn't that the point of this dlc? Skyrim even butchered his design.
Sheogorath in Skyrim is the Champion of Cyrodil.
