Very relatable. Two years ago I started theatre lessons to de stress from work. I also learned a great deal about leadership, being really present and establishing connection!
This was very entertaining (I had no idea about all those CEOs!) but I can see how, if you don't have a passionate hobby, you might wonder "so what?". Luckily I do, it gave me a new push to keep up with mine.
I used to play the piano but took a break because work got crazy. Now it’s so hard to get back to the level of skill I had and I don’t like playing if I’m not good enough and I miss it :(
Nowadays anything can be a subject for research and expected to be taken seriously. So hard working entrepreneurs also have the need to sometimes distantiate from work and have some kind of personal exhistence apart from the professional environment? Wow... who could have figured that out?
Any leadership talk can be seen that way. "So leaders really need to connect with their people?" or "Leaders need to show they are vulnerable?" go figure, and so on. I think she's explaining how you can use it and when it works.
it all comes naturally if you put your heart into it, thats right.
She certainly got a point with this. leisure is important
I like it that this is not about more time off, but that we should use the same amount of time for a passionate hobby instead of just chilling.
I completely agree. I’m so happy when I’m sailing and it just makes me happier and calmer and better at work after the weekend.
I recognize much of this from my earlier days when I almost gave up on management. It's good advice, young people take heed.
Key takeaway: don't be afraid to be passionate outside of work!

Self-complexity and serious leisure. Got it.
I love this woman's voice.
Emilia is a great educator. I would love to have her as my teacher.
