- Take a few flying laps of the Valencia MotoGP Circuit on Ducati’s latest superbike, the 1,103cc Panigale V4. Is it fast enough to make Zack squeal?

It's another new-bike ride with Zack! This time he flew off to Valencia, Spain, to take a spin on the production-ready version of Ducati's new Panigale V4. For someone who has never really gotten along with a Panigale superbike, he seems pretty stoked on sailing down the front straight and carving through corners on the new V4. Then again, a sunny day on a MotoGP track is probably enough to make almost any gearhead smile.

I really don't understand how this channel is only at 320k subs you guys make such awesome videos in many regards. Lot of tech info, great descriptions about bikes and talking points and just the way you guys make them like the video with the Panigale V4 in the rain, with the awesome camera views etc. Lots of respect you guys are killing it!

Wow Zack great video notice the wheel wobble on the handlebars that I get out of my 1299 when coming out of corners that just tells you you're still alive. LOL. Can't wait to see you write it on the street.

At this presser or just in general? I mean I've seen a lot of 300 vids, I'm just saying that even 288 is fast. The fastest I've ever gone at a track was 160 (257 kph) at the Mid-Ohio in a car and that felt pretty quick. I can't even imagine 288 or 300 on a bike. I'm not that good
Beautiful bike, awesome riding. But I'm a little torn on the sound of the bike. Honestly I'm a bit disappointed, maybe my expectations were just a little to high. It sounds decent but I think Aprilia still wins in sound department at least.

Ya gotta love that new Panigale. I'd never turn that bike down. I do like the exhaust note of the RSV4 or R1 more though. But that's just nitpicking.
Not the best sounding v4 , Aprilia takes that honor but great review. Ducati needs to get a street fighter version as soon as possible!

Probably A HECK OF A MOTORCYCLE . . . Still can't warm up to the looks, specially those massive triangular air intakes which do not follow anything else on the bike.
Same for the mess of lines and sections where the frame, rad air outlet and tank side cover meet.
AS-IS I would take a current Gen R1 or RSV4 over it.
Maybe with time I'll warm up to it . . . maybe.
I hope the next Generation looks WAY better.
The engine sounds too much like a 2 cyl Super Quadro.

Great job man! Looks like a blast. Anytime I see these track videos it makes me think my ZX14R is a touring bike, lol. I've got a couple herniated disks in my back though, so the wheelbase and weight help out quite a bit for me. Rather stay riding, than not. :D

I love Ducati’s. I always have. I like the Panigale R,I had it before I Dream about the Desmosedicci but I can’t afford that bike,...to much $$$$,.. But I’m definitely Buying the V4
As much I I like the looks I would not spend over 20k on a bike if it just has one purpose. SPEED. The sport touring bikes likes Kawasakis new h2 sx can be used to go long distances and go fast. And the fjr1300,concours 14 and Honda goldwing Can be used for daily commutes and will last ALOT longer. But hey if you're rich why not lol.
Wow! Such an awesome bike for track work. I can't even imagine trying to keep that thing in check out on public roads. The 2-cyl Panigale felt like too much when I test rode it. Personally? For a sportbike I am no professional racer, would probably stick to the "little brother"... the "little" 959 Pani has more power and capabilities than the 916, 996, and 998s I (still) lust after. The V4 is super-cool, nonetheless. Just way more bike than I will ever be able to use.
@Zack, great review. What would you say about the new riding feeling coming from this Panigale V4 compared to RSV4RF, R1M, S1000RR?
Cool to see it naked it's a shame they couldn't design some better bodywork, it just looks like a plain old VFR (Sport touring bike?). Watching the last Ducati V4 video I saw my father properly angry for the first time and using some strong words when Ari claimed the 851 was Ducatis first sport bike with the rest being more like touring bikes haha

You got lucky again to ride this bike. :-) I saw your other video "007 style" to ride it in the rain. I was surprised with how the bike sounds and how good the instrument panel is. Easy to read and good size. The frame brings me thoughts of a Japanese bike, which is a good thing. Have fun and stay safe!

Fucking hell that looks fast. I crap myself when i hit ruts going 60km/h on muddy roads.... i cant imagine going 280 or 150 while leaned over, hitting curb stones
Doing a review and making intelligent observations while going 100+ mph around a track. Honestly just as impressive as the bike.
The bike looks nice and all, and the video is great. It also looked like you had a bunch of fun doing this, so that's all good. However, I just think the track looks so boring - or is it just me? There are no changes in altitude, and in my opinion not enough grass/dirt spots. Everything is asphalt, so it doesn't really matter whether you stay on track or not, you're going to get saved no matter what. I am not in any way familiar with the Valencia track, so maybe this is just part of many available tracks on Valencia? But I think the test drive would be more trustworthy if the track had the above mentioned conditions.

I'm hearing 80 miles per tank on the 1299, and wondering just how low that number can go.
Must be fun spending $30k on a bike, having to let it sit in a garage somewhere until the weather is good and you have time to ride it, then finally taking it out for a ride and having to stop every hour to fill the tank.
Given the rate at which decent bikes are getting stolen these days, buying one of these and riding it out on the street is like putting a massive target on your back. "Would you please follow me until I run out of gas and then steal my bike?" The odds are no worse than 4 to 1 that the rider would have to stop to get gas in less than 20 miles.
Zack, what do you think of the response time of the screen? On video it seems like the speedometer is lagging a little behind or somthing. If you watch the screen on the 2018 Street Triple R/RS you can see it seems alot more responsive.
Is it really slow (ish) or is it just me not seeing things right?
Unreliable, overpriced bikes, that pretty much sums it up...plus...Ducati considers ethanol to be a gas additive and its use voids the warranty, good luck with that.
Again and then at some other time; can't help but wonder how could you talk that much while wringing those bikes, either at the track or street with your commute... That's kind of amazing, I think! 😂😂😂

I've ridden this course but of course never on that bike. VERY well done Zack, informative and authentic.
Would like to see him hot lap all of the top tier performance bikes on the same track and compare times and when I say hot lap I mean 10 tenths, Zach courts is a former professional Motorcycle Racer right? He is obviously very fast. I heard that somewhere but I'm not sure as to whether it was moto GP or a different league not very educated on motorcycle racing though I would like to get more educated on it.
i so wished it sounded better. more like a 4 cylinder bike than a 2. slightly disappointed in that aspect. i would like to have some pantomime with such a high end and super performance bike.

Soo expensive and overpowered for the street though. I pray Honda makes another small 500 V4 or even better a 300 inline 4 with super high redline and weight of a feather. Any day over this.
Great bike, however, most bikers who ride this Ducati, in a urban area, would end up killing themselves. Sorry, unless, you are really a skilled track racer..stick to a bike you can handle.
Finally! No longer a compromise on chassis design due to the too long and tall motor. Center of gravity higher in the frame allowing a better roll center. A longer swingarm with a much better pivot location to keep the front end down and with an optimized geometry, the infamous Ducati low side should become a thing of the past.

please correct me, is there a standard Panigale v4 2018 and also the Panigale v4s 2018 which has the full ohlins electronic suspension. no one seems to know!

counter steering in these videos always confuse me, as far as I know if you are turning right you push the right side of the handle bar slightly forward as you lean towards the right , so the wheel turns a little to the left and you dip into the turn, but when I see videos online some people look like they're doing it and some look like if they are turning right they are pulling on the right side of the handle bar down and in a little, Zack could you tell me how you do it? cuz it may just be the point of view in the video that makes it look like that, I took my course and I passed pushing the right side forward a bit as I first described, I found that when I was pulling down into the corner It was like I was fighting the weight of the bike alot more.
I would love to talk with the engineers that made the timing decision. The whole point of having 4 cylinders is to make more constant power, according to your description they made a 4 cylinder L twin.
Dont like the sound, RSV4 has much better sound!1299 has better dash ( easier to read) and big red shift light

Great work by Zack, as always, but not at all happy with the footage of the motorcycle. I really wanted to get a closer look at it, honestly with current shots is exactly like the Panigale
within reason, there is no such thing as braking too early on a track, you earn your ability to control those brakes more when you allow yourself to broaden your braking gap, making more agressive turns and better lines on the track, at least, that's my opinion
