I just had my first one ever today for De Quervain's in my left hand. The initial entry wasn't so bad, but when they hit the tendon that was the problem... For the 54 years I've been on this earth occasionally getting shots, that was the most excruciating experience I've ever had, bar none. Fortunately, the cortisone seems to be taking hold a lot faster than they told me it would. I'm actually able to use my left hand again. Hopefully I won't need to have another one when it wears off six or so months from now; I've already got enough problems with arthritis and disappearing cartilage without having to deal with weakened tendons as well...
I had a sports medicine book and it was written that some pro basketball players would had ankle sprains got several cortisone injections over time resulting in a destruction of the ankle. My PCP advised against cortisone injections. People that are unlikely to spend time rehabbing want quick relief.
i'm suffering trigger finger and was admintered cortisone before it is very effective only a matter of minutes the pain removed.. is cortisone same with kenacort ?
When cortisone injection effect starts & how long it’s effect remains? Does it hurt? & what can we do if it’s hurt? Please reply to my questions 🙏Please reply to my question
DEXAMETHISONE INDUCED ADRENAL SHUT DOWN IS MURDER? FDA NEVER APPROVED STEROIDS YET THEY IGNORE IT EITHER FROM IGNORANCE OR PROFIT. KILLING THE LESS LIKE.YET DOING IT IN A TORTURE TYPE WAY.
So why did a hand surgeon gave me a cortisone injection to the wrist? Did he not know it’s going to be risky and the wrist is too delicate for that? I had a severe soft tissue atrophy after getting a cortisone injection for ecu tendinosis. Wish I knew better. Many doctors out there just have no clue.
I wish he was my doctor. He literally answered every question I had.

Blind injections should not be done. This is 2022🙄 ultrasound guidance was not used for me & damage was done

There was no mention of drinking or smoking after the injection
