AAAA Ehh? They could allow player testers outside their realm of Ubisoft influence to test the game. Disney with The Acolyte made me forget Star Wars. A new season of The Mandalorian with the original writers and original cast is the only thing that will save the Star Wars franchise.
Star Wars used to feel special, used to really feel like an event. But since the sequel trilogy, it's been one thing after the other. With very little bright spots in between.
Ubisoft should sue Disney for destroying the brand. If Disney made anything good in the last 3 years there would be tons of fans excited for a so-so Star Wars games. Also, there’s just too much to play.
It wasn’t about the character design. It was people pointing out the issue that it seemed to be yet another example of the creators involved were once again worried about identity rather than making a good game. It seems they were correct. To say people don’t like the character designs and that was the issue is not accurate.
We had 1133, we had a Boba Fett game, AND we had a Mando game just cancelled. It's almost like the gaming industry and those who make major decisions are REEEEEEETTTOOOOOODDDDDDDDIDDDDDD.
I feel like people dont understand how the words, attract, attractive and attraction are connected. You want to attract people to your games, then make your game attractive. Its pretty simple. If you are making a product what words do you want your product to be associated with: Attractive, intense, repulsive or mundane. Just like James Bond, the series wouldnt work if he just looked like an average joe. Or look at Sonic, if they released it with the original design, the movie would have flopped hard.
@@RhythmGrizz it was definitely weird looking, and is one of the many examples of people being bad at their job, which is probably worse than simple bad character design
The problem is not that Kay is ugly. The problem is the actress that played her is good looking. They could have used her actual face, but oooooh, no... She needs to be plain looking, lest the males get aroused. The game is enjoyable, particularly if you are a SW fan, but there aspects to the whole project that are also highly questionable.
@@sebastianriveros2975 Yeah, it's an overcorrection of the 2000s when they were super into posting hot chicks everywhere, when people were super into lesbians, and that was an overcorrection of the 80s, when there was still a conservative Christian influence, satanic panic and whatnot. That pendulum always be swinging
Thank you for pointing out those “positive reviews”. The bias was go obvious and I’m glad that people are not listening to them anymore. People are tired with the lies. I hope that companies realize that.
Ever since Disney bought out Lucasfilm Star wars has been going deeper and deeper into the toilet and we're seeing it real time. What a time to be alive
"Are you surprised that Star Wars Outlawz flopped?" No, no we are not. There was every indication based on multiple media sources showing the game before release for us to know it wasn't worth our time/money/energy.
Its actually decent... but, im actually playing days gone right now and the gameplay, stealth, shooting, story, graphics and bike driving is 100% better.
Absolutely!! Why didn’t they make a Han and Chewie adventure with the Millennium Falcon? They could have incorporated the back story from A New Hope, with both the Kessel run and dumping Jabba’s cargo.
I don’t really even think it’s Ubisoft’s fault lol Star Wars has been HEAVILY mismanaged. Had this game released back in 2015-2017, this game would’ve sold 8-10mil+ units. No one cares about Star Wars because of the bad amount of garbage coming out. No one liked Acolyte, BoB sucked, Kenobi was a dissapointment, Ahsoka was mediocre, and Mando fell off.
I liked Acolyte. Ok. Third episode was epic 💩 But towards the end it became really interesting. Having heretic force users start a cult is not really that far fetched at all. After all it was the jedi who were the a-holes in the show and gave a good reason for sith to exist. Jedi are guilty of the same thing as the sith. Too much power in the hands of the few. So. Yeah. They explored a taboo in the franchise and I was positively surprised. This coming from someone who pretty much dislikes everything after Return of the Jedi from the 80’s.
Everything has been female centered too. I'm not saying this is a bad thing in and of itself but when it's all female, and the shows haven't been that great, you start to notice a pattern. Then you see another female centered star wars product, in this case a game, and you can't blame the fans for thinking it's more of the mediocore same (and sounds like they were right in this case too).
I never pay full price for Ubisoft games, as a general rule. Here in Canada, new games cost $80-90 for the base game, so after taxes they're $100, especially on PS5. I always wait a couple months and get them after a few patches, and on heavy discount. I've also seen clips of the ridiculously bad enemy AI. Players hiding in a small patch of tall grass, shooting an enemy in the face right in front of their colleagues, and then the other AI pretty much step on Kay as they search for her, but don't seem to find her. Also 6:54 is a prime example of how bad it is.
Don't worry, the Black Friday special, which includes slave Leia bikini skin for Kay, and the DLC, Deathstick Dealer, will definitely pull this game out of the dumpster.
There are more smugglers in the world than just Han Solo my dude. And she's not supposed to be as good as Han Solo not even close. She's more of a street rat rookie type trying to make a name for herself. It doesn't even act like Han Solo at all
Yeah I've played the game too but thankfully got it as a gift from my siblings and definitely feel bad about them wasting their money. Even now the pop-ins frame drops and lagging are still there when I tried to see if I could bring myself to finish a mission in the game and couldn't bring myself to do so. Sad to see that the only good game I got recently from Ubisoft is Prince Of Persia:The Lost Crown. Sadly the Ubisoft gamers remember fondly from the 2000's is no more and all we have is.....this company. Hopefully some outside buyers purchase Ubisoft fire the upper staff and start over and hopefully we gamers see the Ubisoft we remember years ago make a come back.
The maps are so incredibly beautiful! It’s such a shame they can’t get characters and story’s right. Currently forcing myself to finish avatar. Stunning a map on ps5 is keeping me going
I played 60hrs. Loved it. The enemies are dumb at times but that’s the only issue I’ve found. Also I highly disagree with the all too popular phrase “bad writing”. Kay has an evolving relationship with with just about every character in the game. She goes from loner only looking for the big score, to her team being top priority and risking everything in the end to save a droid. It was awesome and heartfelt. It’s a shame we have these groups that seem to be programmed to be super harsh and hateful towards anything Star Wars and/or Ubisoft related with very few exceptions. I played and platinumed Wu Kong, Astro Bot, and Outlaws, and I can say that it’s rare to have one banger after another these days. I’m also willing to bet the people that jumped on the Wu Kong hype didn’t even finish the game or at least play all the side content. And the ones not giving this a chance most likely haven’t even tried it and or have also not done everything, which is sad because the side content for Outlaws is almost the best part. But hey, we live in a world where biased opinions, disregard for facts, and hate run unapologetically rampant and Fortnite and sports games are the most popular, so I don’t know what I expect. Society sucks.
I think the main character's story just seems uninteresting for a lot of people to put in 20 hours into. Had they just made it a story about Han Solo before the events of A New Hope, I think a lot more people would have been interested and forgiving of said bugs/glitches.
I hate that it’s just a bunch of executives that’s bringing all this bs to the gaming industry, wish we could go back to the said of good competition, like the ps4 days when we had good games coming out all the time, man it was a good time to be a gamer
i don't think its just outlaws not selling, recent reports in media say that in general these triple a big budget games are not selling, the only reason why they costs so much to make is the salaries they are paying the devs, i think devs in the industry will be getting pay cuts within coming years..
Rejoice my children, a exciting month has begun: After 2½ of Switch Pro rumors, followed by another 2½ years of Switch 2 rumors, the curtains will finally be pulled back and Nintendo will at long last show us their next-gen console.
I don’t know much about the game, but look at the way the character swings on a rope in the one clip shown in this video, followed by very clunky, unpolished, unappealing UI. This is meant to be a triple a game and the little things are very important.
I’m still playing it here and there but it’s difficult to love it. There’s so many quest breaking bugs, the protagonist isn’t interesting or relatable, several gameplay mechanics are just annoying or frustrating. There’s good things, the environments are beautiful, but it feels like a wasted opportunity to make it a proper RPG with character customisation and let *them* be the outlaw, not Kay Vess.
Star Wars has really become a shadow of what it once was. Since the late 90s Lucasfilm has struggled to connect with its fan base, and in some cases absolutely aggravated them. Yet they still try and tell everybody how magnificent it all is, and nothing is their fault, that it is the fans who are the problem. The thing they need to remember is it's the hardcore fans who keep the franchise alive, not the politically correct generation.
How come nobody talks about the fact that Ubisoft games go on massive discounts in a short period of time. There is so much to play out there and as much as I want to play Outlaws, I am willing to wait a month or 2 and get it heavily discounted.
This is the game that some gamers paid over +$100 for the super whatever edition for early access, just to be told to start all over because of a bug/patch 😅

This is why we do not need the KOTOR remake because of all of the BS that Star Wars Outlaws is dealing. Worried about how Indiana Jones is going to do
I just want a remaster of Prince of Persia The Warrior within one of the best games ever made music and gameplay wise
I remember a commenter saying how could Ubisoft screw up stealth on a videogame when they MADE ALL THE SPLINTER CELL GAMES!!!!
they fired all the men who wrote the code 🤷♀
My guess on that sentiment is that the devs that worked on those great games are no longer there and were replaced with cos playing devs
@@unknowngames9959 cosplaying devs i'm crying hahah
Ubisoft should sue Disney for destroying the brand. If Disney made anything good in the last 3 years there would be tons of fans excited for a so-so Star Wars games. Also, there’s just too much to play.
Hate the saying all you want people but it’s true Get Woke Go Broke.
It’s literally not. Change the protagonist to a straight white male and literally nothing about this game gets better.
God of War: Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2 went "woke." Care to explain?
It wasn’t about the character design. It was people pointing out the issue that it seemed to be yet another example of the creators involved were once again worried about identity rather than making a good game. It seems they were correct. To say people don’t like the character designs and that was the issue is not accurate.
We had 1133, we had a Boba Fett game, AND we had a Mando game just cancelled. It's almost like the gaming industry and those who make major decisions are REEEEEEETTTOOOOOODDDDDDDDIDDDDDD.
Btw anyone here getting the Patrick Star game on Friday?
I feel like people dont understand how the words, attract, attractive and attraction are connected. You want to attract people to your games, then make your game attractive. Its pretty simple.
If you are making a product what words do you want your product to be associated with:
Attractive, intense, repulsive or mundane.
Just like James Bond, the series wouldnt work if he just looked like an average joe. Or look at Sonic, if they released it with the original design, the movie would have flopped hard.
I don't think Kay was ugly, she is presentable, but what I did see were terrible facial animations
Which you could absolutely say looked ugly
Thank you for pointing out those
“positive reviews”.
The game was made by Ubisoft, it was bound to fail. I don’t know how they’re still in business tbh.
"Are you surprised that Star Wars Outlawz flopped?"
No, no we are not.
There was every indication based on multiple media sources showing the game before release for us to know it wasn't worth our time/money/energy.
Journos actually think that they can gaslight people into buying games like as if everyone who games was born after 2015.
Its actually decent... but, im actually playing days gone right now and the gameplay, stealth, shooting, story, graphics and bike driving is 100% better.
Paying off reviewers only works if consumers actually trust the reviewers.
When I play a Star Wars game I want to play as a Sith, Bobba Fett, or Luke Skywalker or Han Solo, so I did not buy it 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely!! Why didn’t they make a Han and Chewie adventure with the Millennium Falcon? They could have incorporated the back story from A New Hope, with both the Kessel run and dumping Jabba’s cargo.
Don't you realize the Force is female. This is why we can't have nice things. 🤬
You didn’t play many Star Wars games then, did you?
No Man's Sky has given devs that "I Can Fix Him" mentality for any and all flops.
WHY???? CUZ STONE COLD SAYS SO!!!
I don’t really even think it’s Ubisoft’s fault lol
Star Wars has been HEAVILY mismanaged.
It is though, Ubisoft ran the open world slop formula into the ground
Everything has been female centered too. I'm not saying this is a bad thing in and of itself but when it's all female, and the shows haven't been that great, you start to notice a pattern. Then you see another female centered star wars product, in this case a game, and you can't blame the fans for thinking it's more of the mediocore same (and sounds like they were right in this case too).
The Jedi series was SO GOOD that people had high expectations for this one. It's a shame because it could have been so good too.
*insert everything is fine meme
Remember when Space Marine 2 sold 2 million units in like the first week.
You keep mentioning a crash, and none of this stuff is related to a crash.
No one wanted a female Han Solo rip off.
There are more smugglers in the world than just Han Solo my dude. And she's not supposed to be as good as Han Solo not even close. She's more of a street rat rookie type trying to make a name for herself. It doesn't even act like Han Solo at all
@@captainfach Hence Han Solo "rip-off".
You’re riding the fence when you say you’re not taking the culture war aspect into account. It’s DEFINITELY a factor.
No, he just has a brain.
yup
How is it a factor are you saying that he should actually give people recognition for not liking the character because she's not a model?
Get outta your echo chamber for just one minute.
No one should be surprised here, this is just confirming the bad dream we thought this was gonna be
Ubisoft Needs to Revive The Watch Dogs Series
That Jason S convo was hilarious on the spawncast!
I hate that it’s just a bunch of executives that’s bringing all this bs to the gaming industry, wish we could go back to the said of good competition, like the ps4 days when we had good games coming out all the time, man it was a good time to be a gamer
All these gaming journalists MUST BE getting $$$ for their reviews from Ubisoft!!
We're not in a video game crisis....people are starting to get over the GARBAGE GAMES that are put out now that's all
We didnt abandon Star Wars, star wars abandoned us. Gen x
Episode 4/5/6 =Gen X
Episode 1/2/3=Millennials
Episode 7/8/9=Gen Z
If you had high expectations from the beginning… you weren’t paying to Ubisoft nor how the Star Wars franchise has been managed.
Year 2024 will be remembered as The Year of Flop Games. What a Flop Show!
Or the year one of the best games of all time was released pessimist😢
i don't think its just outlaws not selling, recent reports in media say that in general these triple a big budget games are not selling, the only reason why they costs so much to make is the salaries they are paying the devs, i think devs in the industry will be getting pay cuts within coming years..
Rejoice my children, a exciting month has begun: After 2½ of Switch Pro rumors, followed by another 2½ years of Switch 2 rumors, the curtains will finally be pulled back and Nintendo will at long last show us their next-gen console.
Didn't I see u on the other guy's channel?
How did you come to that conclusion?
The girl boss killed it
I don’t know much about the game, but look at the way the character swings on a rope in the one clip shown in this video, followed by very clunky, unpolished, unappealing UI.
You literally muffle someone’s voice when they are wearing a helmet by placing your hand over where their mouth would be.
Just like disney people are legitimately getting paid millions to ruin star wars and other properties...is that a skill??😶😮💨
