@@debjorgo It was at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. I was there, but it wasn't as much fun as you might think. They weren't just shooting a video it was a movie and they kept stopping the show for retakes and there were a lot of time between songs as they changed out musicians and such. @@empire7179 First? Always hard to say. Also, jump blues can be argued to be rock and roll. Ike Turner’s Rocket 88 was either the first or second Rock n Roll tune. When you realize that Chuck Berry, Ike Turner, BB King and a whole bunch of others were orbiting Memphis and Chicago, it’s hard to think of Rock n Roll as anything more than a jump blues marketing device.

He is so fun to watch, I love the comedy spin he puts on all of his songs. He was such a personality. There is no one like him, one of a kind. He was the King of 1950's guitar music in my book. Many other guitarist through the decades have copied their styles and riffs from him. He was a great inspiration to a lot of the British groups that came out in the 60's like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Keith Richards is the guitar player in the Rolling Stones and is known for being very inventive. In the video he is the one playing quietly in the back wearing a suit. I think he was happy to just be there playing with his hero. Probably if video had more of the show, we would have see them playing together. A fun fact in the movie Back to the Future, Marty McFly played by Micheal J. Fox is imitating Chuck Berries style when he plays the guitar at the end of the movie, also doing the duck walk. Its really funny. :)

Sweet! Chuck Berry was 60 years old there. In fact, the concert was held to celebrate his birthday in 1986. The clip is from the movie "Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll". Yes, that's Keith Richards, and Bobby Keys on saxophone. The backup singers were Etta James, Julian Lennon, and Linda Ronstadt. Chuck Berry created rock and roll (along with Little Richard and Elvis Presley among others). When you're ready for more from him check out some of these classics -- "School Days", "Rock'n'Roll Music", "You Never Can Tell", "No Particular Place to Go", "Promised Land", "Around And Around", "Back In The U.S.A.", and "Little Queenie" along with many others.

Don't miss another outstanding performance from this same concert. Here, Chuck Berry plays guitar as great as usual... while Linda Ronstadt belts out Chuck's great "Back in the USA" lyrics. Chuck even duck walks around a dancing Linda. Linda sings her heart out with that wonderful, unique, strong voice of hers. It looks like Chuck really enjoyed how well Linda sang his old hit. And Linda was obviously enjoying every second of it too... Her arm motions are a real hoot. And Keith Richards adds a great guitar riff. My favorite part: When the St Louis audience goes nuts and Linda flashes her million-dollar smile.

"I was campaign shouting like a Southern diplomat." lmdao. Saxman is Bobby Keys, Keith's late longtime friend, sax-player and partner-in-crime, since 'Live with Me' from the 1969 Rolling Stones album 'Let it Bleed', and most famously 1971's 'Brown Sugar', one of several star turns by him on 'Sticky Fingers. Resume? Whoa!!
Keith, the other guitarist onscreen, is the acknowledged soul of the Rolling Stones, and Mick Jagger's songwriting partner for nigh-on 60 years; he has always proudly worn his stylistic debt to Chuck.
The film, 'Hail Hail Rock and Roll' was an idea that grew out of a desire to celebrate Chuck's 60th birthday. Star-studded event(s -2 concerts were staged and/or shot). Keith and Chuck co-produced the film, Taylor Hackford directed. On YT and Amazon Prime.
Glad you enjoyed, it's a joy to share with friends, family. We're that. Love you too, thanks for being you, doing what you do. Cheers. D

Keith is the wild haired guitarist. He produced the show n put the band together bc he loved Chuck n made a career off Chuck’s rhythms.
The sax is Bobby Keys, a Rolling Stones regular all star.
The rest of that documentary is cool!
Chuck was the beginning of the Classic Rock n Roll guitarists.

Keith Richards ( Guess we'll give him rhythm guitar on this one )
His full time gig is playing lead for Mick & Rolling Stones, he jumped for a chance to work with Chuck ✌😎 If you watch the documentary about the whole behind the scenes practice & work up for this performance Keith had the patience of a Saint working with Chuck...
( who is known for changing songs mid stream & wanting things just right 😉)
In the end it all worked out for the best... what a show ! 😎🎸

He invented rock and roll music. He never got recognized for that. He is so amazing. He also invented the duck walk. Keith Richards is a guitar player.

The Sax player was Bobby Keys. Kieth is playing guitar. They were born on the exact same day, Keith near London and Keys near Lubbock, Texas. Bobby Keys while not an inner core member of the Rolling Stones played on a lot of their albums and is part of the touring group. Kieth Richards is one of the co-founders of the Rolling Stones and the man who inspired a million memes. It's time we all thought about what kind of world our grand-kids are going to leave for Kieth Richards.

I'm so happy your channel was suggested to me. I've been binge watching all morning! You should look at Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven. Beautifully written in memory of his son whom passed away in a tragic accident. Tear jerker alert!
