    The inaccuracy here is that the Spanish troupe was more or less 60 but they were also joined by a huge number of Visayan soldiers from Rajah Humabon, Lapulapu's nemesis.

  • @lex4422
    @lex4422 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Other narration included Rajah Humabon's warriors accompanying Magellan's men. Lapu Lapu withdrew inland to avoid cannom fire and arquebuss fire. Malays are already familiar with gunpowder with their use of lantakas and other firearms. The withdrwal enabled Magellan to burn the huts in hopes to discourage the natives. This infuriated the batives more, Lapu Lapu withdrew inland and set an ambush. They rained fire hardened bamboo spears and arrows to overwhelm the Castillans and their allies.
    After their defeat, Rajah Humabon massacred the other Castillan in their dinner. Magellan's body was never recovered from Mactan and only a small crew went back to Spain.

    High tide can occur either once or twice a day depending on the location. The times of high tide and low tide will vary gradually across the 24 hours of the day and you need to have tide tables calculated on the lunar orbit cycle, the seasons of the year, and the rotation of the Earth, as well as the usual pattern of the tides from place to place based on the shape of the sea bottom and the tidal basin. So, it varies and you have to observe and/or compute it.

    Just to make things clear, a (Rajah) was the Paramount Ruler, while a (Datu) was a chief/lord that is either allied or subordinate to a Rajah. Other datus obeyed Rajah Humabon's order to convert to Christianity, while Datu Lapu-Lapu was defiant.

    low tide and high tide depends on the moon sometimes there is hightide and low tide starting from 3pm to 9 am but sometimes 7am to 4pm but it really depend on the moon did you when high tide your and you have fresh wound it makes your blood drops a lot more thats why when starting to lowtide from high tide the circumcision in old way is the best in low tide lol

    This is a more accurate depictions of Humabon and Lapu Lapu, too often romaticized as young muscular warrior leaders when in fact they might have been older men with somewhat prominent bellies.

    So no one answered their question about "high tide and low tide" basically google was explaining to them but they didn't let it finish, so basically the moon is the reason of the high tide and low tide. Moon has some sort of magnetic thing that pulls the water in where it was nearest, and since we're on the other side of the planet if you're experiencing the high tide it means we're experiencing low tide. Google the rest of it.

  • @G.J.G.P.
    @G.J.G.P. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    No, tide is created by the gravitational pull of the moon and has nothing to do with day or night time.

    (Figafeta) Spanish stories really just saving faces from the loses they've had like their defeat in Luzon Manila made up twisted stories about Spain selling Philippines to the U.S. w/c you featured earlier on your video, what's true is non of Magellan fleet survive or only 1 or 2 vessel that have return to Spain and their not likely to tell the king of Spain that they got beaten (massacred) by Visayan villagers, LOL it's the supremacy thing, from what I've heard there where Spanish survivors from this battle which they've tried to recover years after but failed because they been sold to the Chinese as slaves or for information.
    They've return to the Philippines after these and form a coalition with the Muslim from Bohol to attack and take Manila and there they've stayed, in those times there is no such thing as Philippines the islands where all separate country like the rest of southeast Asia but are all interconnected like relatives, the rest is history 👌😎👍✌.

    This is according to their account & why wouldn't they make Magellan heroic by telling their king that they were just vastly outnumbered. When it is known that conquistadors in the Americas always gather all converted tribes so that they can have a large force & conquer the hostile tribes, they were never able to conquer Muslim Mindanao & many visayas & luzon tribes converted to Christianity. There is a reason why kali knife & bolo fighting are still being used today by special forces & marines because their guns before did not make any difference againts the kali system

    There are 4 tides in 24 hours. It changes every 6 hours ish.
    This story is very inaccurate. The art is very inaccurate. The reason why Magellan lost was because of underestimating the natives fighting skills. The 200 or so tribes in Philippines warred all the time so their fighting skills were at a high level. When the Spanish went to Mexico the natives there at the time only had obsidian weapons. So the Spanish were able to wipe out their military. They thought it would be the same in Philippines. Also there were no fat Filipinos back in those days because every one had to work manual labor for their food. Lapu lapua sword there was upside down and not every one wore gold. Classic Filipinos are highly practical before comfort and art.
