The railroad crossing I go to is East 305th street in Willowick Ohio USA, when an eastbound freight train is going too slow, the gates will sometimes time out
That level crossing issue at Merri wasn't a power outage. It was a track circuit failure that was affecting the level crossing and holding the automatic signal at stop. Driver performed rule 1, section 3 to pass it and continued on.
Not sure I'd class a timeout as a malfunction. And the crossing remaining on at Cliff St., Portland wasn't a malfunction either. I mean it's a teardrop bell, holding on for dear life and it's gonna keep going for as long as it possibly can. :)
I guess it depends what you would call a malfunction, in my opinion it is when a crossing either is broken or goes off without a train passing though Portland, I think it’s operated by a Ute that follows the train, so there’s a high chance the button didn’t work when the operator tried to turn it off, and because the circuitry is old it won’t automatically turn off
@@TazzieTransport I knew what you meant of course. It was just that to my way of thinking, the crossing is supposed to activate when a train approaches. But the train stops and after a time, the booms go up and signals stop - which they are designed to do. And then activate again when the train starts moving. So everything is working how it is supposed to, therefore not really a malfunction. But certainly an oddity. If you've watched any of the European level crossing channels, you'll have seen how the booms can be down for 5-10 minutes before the train arrives. And I understand why that happens, but how many drivers do? I think having them stop and restart later is a better idea.
Absolute buggers when the level crossings signals decides to malfunctions. The level crossing in Salisbury Adelaide's northern suburbs SA it's known for it’s boom gates to get stuck it frustrates the motorists.
Pyrenees Highway's Railway crossing doesnt look like it has any line going through it, unless Rainbow Road goes Through it & you see a bunch of nintendo charaters in go karts drive by. Edit: nvm theres a rail behind it.
This video shows which is the most abused level crossing in Melbourne. First the crossing is put on the removal list. Then the signage gets removed/stolen and now the light got open.
It’s really sad now neglected it is, like it’s always more and more broken every time I visit. I just went to get pics the other day and found the light open, wasn’t even planning on getting a clip lol
I saw a malfunction on Osborne Rd, North Haven in SA. The Railcar was at Osborne Station, but the crossing wasn't going off. No lights, no bell, no Boomgates.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻good video tazie transport❤❤

Love this vid
Westinghouse gate my favorite gate
4:58 ghost train maybe?
Looks like something is wrong with one of the Ruthven gate lights too - it's not shutting off fully. Maybe a faulty relay contact or something?
7:16 Barker technic bells
22:38 I think they forgot to put the crossbuck on the pole...
Great video

I find out why trains don't stop at East pakaham because
East pakaham station is closed
I'm guessing the Elmhurst malfunction is because the power failure caused the hold-clear solenoid to fail, thereby letting the gates come down?
Pretty sure the Swallow St one was a retrip
It may have been, but the tracks are only one way each way and it was a fair way off the sensor
Can you please do a video of the Worthing road level crossing please 🙏
I once saw the Maidstone Street Altona 1 malfunction one night
In the first one why the train not in circuit is it stopped so it can fix it🌋
When you finally get to call the crossing fault number
💀
I remember the first time I did, and I kinda freaked out lol
Hahahahahahaha
19:19 Why a UK Crossing bell in backround
That's just the pedestrian alarms
What’s wrong with second one?
The timeouts are not malfunctions they are setting in the circuits
0:01 #1 Not a malfunction.
2:40 #2 Not _necessarily_ a malfunction.

@@TazzieTransport if this continues, the lxra wont even need to do boom gate removals since everything will be stolen or broken by 2025

Interesting!!
@@TazzieTransport Sure is. I was on a nearby bridge, and noticed something off.
If the train wasn’t moving it won’t turn on
I like malfunction but I don't know how to pronounce it
What's a malfunction and how to pronounce it
😂
😂😂
Funny.
People would use trains more if people weren’t idiots around level crossings
👍🏻❤️😊😊❤👍🏻
Aaaah crossing signals drunk
