I agree. He really did; however, this man is being questioned over a shopping cart that Publix hasn't even reported stolen??!!?? 😅 I wish they would've called emt's for a mental evaluation. He looked too well kept to be homeless and the contents of the cart were nicely stacked.... there is so much more to investigate than this. Personally, I don't think it's setting a good example for a ride along.

Publix is a privately held company that is owned by its employees, board members, and the Jenkins family. The company's founder, George Jenkins, believed that employees should own the company and work hard to make it better.

Technically not owned by the employees, it's just a screwed up marketing way to get your employees to PAY to work for you. Essentially, the stock is majority owned by the owners while they sell private stock to employees that must PAY for that stock. They even have rules that prevent you from selling that stock to ANYONE besides Publix.
So even if he "owns" it in any way, I imagine it's not to the level he thinks, just like people who have a tiny bit of stock in Disney don't own Disney

Disagree. Total professional. A police officer shouldn’t have to make themselves a doormat for the lowest among us just to do their jobs. They deserve respect, including from themselves. I thought his demeanor was clear, reasonable and relaxed, and which more of them were able to stay calm like this.
He also totally lied to the sergeant about what happened... The guy who was arrested was obviously insane, but he didn't have "balled up fists" or come at the officer physically. Edit: He did have balled up fists when he was bracing to be tased, but otherwise his hands were very relaxed.
I really appreciate that the cop didn't give in to the craziness and just stayed cool and calm.

He was real quick to pull out and threaten to use his taser though, over a shopping cart, when clearly dealing with someone with a number of psychological issues. The cop definitely could've been worse, don't get me wrong, but it clearly wasn't necessary in the moment and strikes me as the result of a power trip. That said, I am glad the cop chilled out and didn't actually force him on his knees or tase him for not getting on his knees - there are many videos where that goes the other way.
Officers of the law should be held to a higher standard and their eagerness to utilize force instead of patience and de-escalation when interacting with, particularly but not limited to, unstable individuals is a major problem. I'm just glad this particular officer didn't let those inclinations get the best of him in this case, but that taser should've never left its holster.

Even though the suspect was rough, the officer stayed smart and patient. Honestly, he has a lot more patience than I do, and thanks to that, no charges were brought against him.

I worked for a big grocery store chain. They have to order close to 50 carts each year due to theft . They have found the carts to be used as barbeque grills, dumped in canals and of cource the homeless mobile material transportation. The police normally never stop them even when they use crosswalks and the carts with name on it is visable . The other thing they donis remove the plastic name on carts and or use spraypaint to cover the name of store up. So they are not in possession of stolen property.Replacement cost in 2024 was 280 per cart .
