Me and my cousin played the shit out of revenge. We bought that and warzone on the same day. At first glance warzone seemed much better. After about 5 minutes we realised wcw/nwo revenge was the best wrestling game we’d ever played. Great episode mate.

Better than No Mercy, too. No Mercy’s running grapple (among other gameplay additions) disrupted the game balance, the framerate went from not great to horrible, and the (arguably) inferior roster made it less enjoyable overall.
Another amazing installment. This is my favorite so far of the WCW series, appropriate since both these games were awesome. World Tour is much like a prototype version of the engine for N64, but by the time they got around to Revenge, they polished it up into an amazing game. Even as a die hard WWF fan back in 98 and 99, I knew these were miles ahead of Warzone and Attitude (even though I may never have admitted it then haha). Great video, dog!
Great vid. The N64 era (world tour / revenge / wrestlemania 2000 / no mercy) is definitely my favorite. One thing i really liked that was added in Revenge was the replays on some stronger moves and finishers, really added a lot to the presentation.

My brother and I were only able to play WCW/NWO Revenge at our neighbors house, so it made it extra special whenever we could play it with him. We had No Mercy and WrestleMania 2000 already but not Revenge. Fortunately, whenever everyone else moved onto new consoles, our neighbor just gave us the copy of Revenge. One of the best grabs ever
1997 is still my favorite year of my life. I was 17 and it was the best summer ever. I actually had a Saturn and play Word Series Baseball and Madden. But had a 64 too and played the WCW games. Oh, and that summer was the first time I got laid!
So each guy has a special move in almost every position. Flair might not have the figure 4 in the front grapple, but he sure does at the opponents feet while the meter is flashing. If you did a rear grapple with sting you’d get the death drop.
Got my n64 when I was in the 6th grade and this was one of the very 1st games I got wcw vs nwo world tour...still have it today and play it from time to time...great game...revenge was just BEYOND AWESOME

I'm captivated by all your videos. I love that you actually show gameplay footage while you're talking. The audio of your voice is really good. I also agree with most of what you say. In the video discussing your favorite stages from Mortal Kombat my pretty much agreed with all of them. I love the Mortal Kombat history series and I'm loving this one so far. I loved the Smackdown versus Raw one as well.
Thank you so much for covering the N64 WCW titles. 'World Tour' was one of the first N64 games i got alongside Turok when i first got an N64 as a kid for christmas. The gameplay was so fluid and addictive. But i agree that WCW/NWO Revenge took it too a whole new level. That intro still gives me chills to see it again. :)

Great video - thanks for taking me back to the 90s. I remember playing 4 player rumble with my friends and getting Goldberg as the last entrance and clearing the ring. Best time ever.
I got an N64 on my 13th birthday with Goldeneye 007 and Wave Race 64. Later on, I got WCW World Tour, then Revenge, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time and probably Majora's Mask last, among various others. Then, on my 16th birthday, I got a PSone for $99 just before the PS2 came out, and was able to catch up on all the good psx games I missed for cheap, or just borrowing from friends. It worked out pretty good for me, I feel. I also had Warzone and Attitude on N64, and loved those games, even if looking back they weren't all that great, but the CAW and going up the ranks and earning points was pretty awesome back then.
Revenge is still me of my favourite wrestling games of all time. The soundtrack is amazing and you covered stuff I didn’t even know about, like the different finisher options. This system is one of the best for wrestling games. It’s also still cool to find out the different wrestlers that the generic characters are supposed to be
The rundown of this video pretty much sums up my entire childhood. Nostalgic. WCW/nWo: Revenge, WWF No Mercy, WCW vs. nWo: World Tour, and WWF WrestleMania 2000 are four of the greatest wrestling games ever. AKI was the holy grail of wrestling game developers.
It's absolutely mind blowing how authentic Revenge was for it's time. They could've easily shipped it with the bare minimum like they did with World Tour and it would've sold well regardless because of the boom period, but this game was a labour of love from the devs. Full entrances, exclusive animations and taunts for the wrestlers, creative finishers as well as accurate PPV arena's and sets. Funny to think the Smackdown games wouldn't completely catch up in this regards truly until Shut Your Mouth.
I was a WCW kid and N64 kid! It was the best of both worlds for me! I was pumped when I saw the tv commercials for Revenge in 1998! It was a great time to be a wrestling fan!
Another great job! I remember playing 40 man battle royals and going crazy everytime you came back as some random wrestler. It was such a great time. Keep em coming brother!

Finally! Awesome episode again dude. I was lucky enough to be an N64 kid. I had these and man... This is where i really fell in love with wrestling. Wrestling was rarely broadcasted over here in the netherlands so this is where my imagination came to life. Great games.

Awesome as usual my brotha! Watching this brought back so many memories of playing WCW/NWO Revenge. I would use the costume change feature to take some of the weird random wrestlers or guys who had recently left WCW in real life, and turn them into new wrestlers that had just shown up on TV (example: I turned the Giant into Sid Vicious after the former became Big Show in WWF and the latter showed up powerbombing and chokeslamming the crap out of everyone). I also had a weird thing where I had to win each championship as the person who currently held the title in real life, and when someone took the title from them, I had to beat it again as that person, that way when you went to the selection menu, you'd see the current champ holding the belt. I know I'm weird. LOL... Thank you again for bringing my childhood back to life! Rock on!

The video I’ve been waiting for since I watched you first wrestling game vid - and definitely did NOT disappoint! I went back to play Revenge after I got WWF No Mercy cos we had a massive batch in Australia where the game deleted your save file all the time.
Nailed it. The jealousy was strong with me when it came to N64's wrestling games. I was a Playstation kid, but so were all my friends. So where did I get my WCW fix? The game setups in Best Buy, Target, and Circut City. Revenge, tho. Full wreslter entrances blew me into the next life!
When I was 11 or 12, I asked my mum to get WCW/nWo Revenge on a whim. Being as awesome as she got it and even though I had no idea what was going on in WCW at the time, I was blown away. Still probably the best Wrestling Game I ever played, though Smackdown Here Comes the Pain is a close second. I dare you to touch the ECW games by Acclaim. They force you to love em, like you were a hostage held for too long in captivity
Awesome video i didn't get to play these games tell 2000 when i got my first N64 but they are so awesome and i still own copy's of theses games now and did you know in WCW vs. nWo World Tour you also see stings face paint wear away and you can rip the front off the mask wrestlers eye gouge move syxx is the one that can do it easier . Also in WCW/nWo Revenge if i remember correctly 3rd and 4th player can use managers in the singles matches During gameplay press Z on the 3rd & 4th controllers and you should be able to use them. :)
You know what's funny, I've never actually seen the masks come off or the face paint smear. I've heard the rumors over the years for sure, but I've never really seen it.

I owned wcw nwo revenge and man I loved that game. Spent hours on this game. We played it so much we burnt the cartridge out. Literally stopped working after well over 10 years of play. My all time favorite wrestling game. Really solidified my fandom for wcw. Made me love ultimo dragon. Very very fun game and many great memories

A couple of the funnest n64 games ever..these games and especially revenge really catapulted the wrestling games. It made it simple enough to understand the controls but challenging enough to keep u entertained. The glory days👏👏

My Goodness This Bought Back So Many Many Great Memories on my N64!!!!! I remember play in WCW vs NWO World Tour for the first time at the time I was deciding weather to get the PlayStation or the N64 and when I played WCW vs NWO World Tour for the first time I knew a 64 was my route to go and I'm so glad I did.
My all time FAVOURITE wrestling game! My childhood consisted of finishing school on fridays, getting home at 4pm, killing time til Nitro came on at 9pm (Nitro n Raw was shown on fridays in the UK on satalite) spending time on Revenge for 5 hours before Nitro for nearly 2 years straight was the highlight of my early teens. No other wrestling game has ever came close to Revenge, this definately set the benchmark for all other wrestling games that came after this release.
Good LORD, WCW/NWO Revenge seemed like a damn fun game during the 90s! Nice review of this part, Mr. 616. I also like how you’re a PlayStation fan as well since I always played on my PS2 during my childhood years. I’m looking forward to what you have to say the fourth part of this review series in regards to the WCW games. Although my all-time favorite is still Here Comes to Pain, I’m fairly certain Revenge would have been a top favorite of mine if I was born a bit earlier in the 90s instead of 1999.

I got an N64 on my 13th birthday with Goldeneye 007 and Wave Race 64. Later on, I got WCW World Tour, then Revenge, Perfect Dark, Ocarina of Time and probably Majora's Mask last, among various others. Then, on my 16th birthday, I got a PSone for $99 just before the PS2 came out, and was able to catch up on all the good psx games I missed for cheap, or just borrowing from friends. It worked out pretty good for me, I feel.
I also had Warzone and Attitude on N64, and loved those games, even if looking back they weren't all that great, but the CAW and going up the ranks and earning points was pretty awesome back then.

Revenge is still me of my favourite wrestling games of all time. The soundtrack is amazing and you covered stuff I didn’t even know about, like the different finisher options. This system is one of the best for wrestling games. It’s also still cool to find out the different wrestlers that the generic characters are supposed to be

The rundown of this video pretty much sums up my entire childhood. Nostalgic. WCW/nWo: Revenge, WWF No Mercy, WCW vs. nWo: World Tour, and WWF WrestleMania 2000 are four of the greatest wrestling games ever. AKI was the holy grail of wrestling game developers.

I love the WCW vs NWO world Tour and Revenge. Great games for the N64.
It's absolutely mind blowing how authentic Revenge was for it's time. They could've easily shipped it with the bare minimum like they did with World Tour and it would've sold well regardless because of the boom period, but this game was a labour of love from the devs. Full entrances, exclusive animations and taunts for the wrestlers, creative finishers as well as accurate PPV arena's and sets. Funny to think the Smackdown games wouldn't completely catch up in this regards truly until Shut Your Mouth.

I was a WCW kid and N64 kid! It was the best of both worlds for me! I was pumped when I saw the tv commercials for Revenge in 1998! It was a great time to be a wrestling fan!

I was lucky enough to be an N64 kid. I had these and man... This is where i really fell in love with wrestling. Wrestling was rarely broadcasted over here in the netherlands so this is where my imagination came to life. Great games.

Awesome as usual my brotha! Watching this brought back so many memories of playing WCW/NWO Revenge. I would use the costume change feature to take some of the weird random wrestlers or guys who had recently left WCW in real life, and turn them into new wrestlers that had just shown up on TV (example: I turned the Giant into Sid Vicious after the former became Big Show in WWF and the latter showed up powerbombing and chokeslamming the crap out of everyone). I also had a weird thing where I had to win each championship as the person who currently held the title in real life, and when someone took the title from them, I had to beat it again as that person, that way when you went to the selection menu, you'd see the current champ holding the belt. I know I'm weird. LOL... Thank you again for bringing my childhood back to life! Rock on!

The video I’ve been waiting for since I watched you first wrestling game vid - and definitely did NOT disappoint! I went back to play Revenge after I got WWF No Mercy cos we had a massive batch in Australia where the game deleted your save file all the time.
I think the save dump problem with No Mercy was super common, unfortunately. And I'm glad it lived up!

Nailed it. The jealousy was strong with me when it came to N64's wrestling games. I was a Playstation kid, but so were all my friends. So where did I get my WCW fix? The game setups in Best Buy, Target, and Circut City.

When I was 11 or 12, I asked my mum to get WCW/nWo Revenge on a whim. Being as awesome as she got it and even though I had no idea what was going on in WCW at the time, I was blown away. Still probably the best Wrestling Game I ever played, though Smackdown Here Comes the Pain is a close second.
I dare you to touch the ECW games by Acclaim. They force you to love em, like you were a hostage held for too long in captivity

Awesome video i didn't get to play these games tell 2000 when i got my first N64 but they are so awesome and i still own copy's of theses games now and did you know in WCW vs. nWo World Tour you also see stings face paint wear away and you can rip the front off the mask wrestlers eye gouge move syxx is the one that can do it easier . Also in WCW/nWo Revenge if i remember correctly 3rd and 4th player can use managers in the singles matches During gameplay press Z on the 3rd & 4th controllers and you should be able to use them. :)
You know what's funny, I've never actually seen the masks come off or the face paint smear. I've heard the rumors over the years for sure, but I've never really seen it.

I remember the pain of being both a PlayStation and WCW kid during this time all too well. Seeing world tour and revenge in the game magazines was like a kick in the nuts when we had to settle for nitro and thunder.

Oh man i remember when wcw vs the world came out. I was hooked on it, then i played wcw world tour and i was even more hooked but i never had a 64 until it became out dated i just played my friends
I owned wcw nwo revenge and man I loved that game. Spent hours on this game. We played it so much we burnt the cartridge out. Literally stopped working after well over 10 years of play. My all time favorite wrestling game. Really solidified my fandom for wcw. Made me love ultimo dragon. Very very fun game and many great memories

A couple of the funnest n64 games ever..these games and especially revenge really catapulted the wrestling games. It made it simple enough to understand the controls but challenging enough to keep u entertained. The glory days👏👏

My all time FAVOURITE wrestling game! My childhood consisted of finishing school on fridays, getting home at 4pm, killing time til Nitro came on at 9pm (Nitro n Raw was shown on fridays in the UK on satalite) spending time on Revenge for 5 hours before Nitro for nearly 2 years straight was the highlight of my early teens. No other wrestling game has ever came close to Revenge, this definately set the benchmark for all other wrestling games that came after this release.

I also like how you’re a PlayStation fan as well since I always played on my PS2 during my childhood years. I’m looking forward to what you have to say the fourth part of this review series in regards to the WCW games. Although my all-time favorite is still Here Comes to Pain, I’m fairly certain Revenge would have been a top favorite of mine if I was born a bit earlier in the 90s instead of 1999.
