X Men Mutant Academy was so Good played a lot of it back in the day on ps1. I liked the cheese of Backyard Wrestling 1&2 its not for everybody but it is what it is. The 2nd one has more depth to it than the first game. Plus the inclusion of wrestlers like ECW's Sandman Sabu, an New Jack also Sonjay Dutt of TNA an now AEW is really cool to see. It makes me think of what a third game would have been like on newer systems like a ps3 or Xbox 360. WOW I didn't know Jeff Hardy was gonna be in the game an CM Punk that's crazy. I had so much fun with the BYW games back in the day with my friends, I remember playing this around the same time as the suffering and urban chaos riot response. I was about 17 and was at that age where I could afford my own games and didn't need to wait for Christmas or birthdays. I remember when me and my friend recognized Sunrise Adams from a porno VHS that got passed around our little group 😂😂 That Kevin guy was at the ICP London show I was at, he kept coming on stage talking to us about how crap the UK government is and stuff

Yeah, that game isn't NEARLY as bad as people make it out to be. It's no masterpiece, it's a 6/10 in my opinion, but there's some fun stuff to do in the game.
With this, TNA Impact, Raw 2 & Here Comes The Pain, Jeff Hardy has a lot of bad luck with wrestling game appearances. As for the game, I grew up with the 1st Backyard wrestling title. I played it a bit, as well as Backstage Assault, but it wasn’t as fun as the SVR games. I still played them, cause I got them both as a gift from my grandma. I love my grandma. ❤

I’m so happy Nick Mondo got to be in a wrestling game, even if it’s Backyard Wrestling 2, he deserved it so much. Dude was ridiculously underrated and is one of very few early Deathmatch scene wrestlers that can could work at today’s standard and thrive. If he had started a few years later he would’ve been a star of the X-Division for sure.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, that game was my first serious dive into the world of professional wrestling, so, naturally, I have a lot of nostalgia associated with it. It’s honestly really funny to think that I started watching WCW because of a game that most people view as an undeniable piece of shit, but I legitimately don’t give a fuck 😂 I was a WCW kid before I had ever even seriously watched the actual product, and it’s all thanks to a subpar video game. I don’t know about anybody else, but I personally think that’s pretty cool 😊

The wu tang game slaps but not alot of people know it came about bc Thrillkill was cancelled and they needed something to use the engine for so what better than a wu tang clan fighter Edit: im pretty sure the backyard wrestling games use a modified version of that engine

I used to watch deathmatch wrestling frequently as a teen. When I found the BYW games and started playing, I had so much fun. I didn't even really care about the quality, I was just happy to see my favorite Indy stars in a video game.
BYW 2 was fun. Was it crap? Absolutely! But ar the end of the day fun. I'm looking forward to GM Showdown season 2. Hopefully my boy Shawn Phoenix gets a big push this season

I own this game for Xbox. For a time, I convinced myself that this game was okay. A below average but “it has potential.” Then, after many years, I regained a copy of Def Jam: Fight for NY. After playing some of that, I realized that FfNY is pretty much Backyard Wrestling 2 but with a development team that was worth a damn. Better controls, better career/story mode, better character creation suite, more moves and FAR less glitches among other things that put it over BYW2 easily. This game is trash, pure and simple, and I haven’t gone back to it since. Did enjoy the cutscenes, though. Poor Kelvin. 😂 EDIT: Oops! Almost forgot to mention that the G4 video included on the disc was my introduction to the channel so that was pretty cool, too.
Yea but def jam doesn't have all the backyard spots that you can do here. The glitches was because there was so much freedom here unlike a regular fighter like def jam

New Jack was a damned psycho from shiving a dude he was working with, going into business for himself on Gypsy Joe, The Mass Transit incident, and let's not forget he admitted to trying to unalive Vic Grimes during a scaffold match. Only if you were unfamiliar with that body of work would you trust New Jack and even then... well... his erraticness would make you very weary.
I enjoyed the game back in the day. But I was disappointed that there were no unlockable characters or arenas. It's a bit like Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling. You get everything there is from the get go. Just cutscenes to look at doesn't do it for me.
Blitz just ended 4 months ago, dude. Like I've said many times, if we do a Monday Night Blitz 3, it'll probably be a Patreon show. The audience for Season 2 was much smaller than Season 1, and it was at a level that was harming the channel. I love doing Monday Night Blitz, so Season 3 is definitely possible, but it wouldn't be here on TH-cam.
This game was good however how could you have a sequel to a franchise that doesn’t have a triple threat , a fatal four way or a 2on2 that way this game could be on 4 players . Might seem a little ungrateful but those add on along with a backyard steal cage match or even a ladder match would’ve been a good addition.
I did a lot of a story mode with backyard wrestling to I got old lot of the Championships never really beat the game the game play was not good but it was alright that's what I get for my brother giving me this game for Christmas from Disc Replay

I enjoyed the game back in the day. But I was disappointed that there were no unlockable characters or arenas. It's a bit like Showdown: Legends Of Wrestling. You get everything there is from the get go. Just cutscenes to look at doesn't do it for me.

Blitz just ended 4 months ago, dude. Like I've said many times, if we do a Monday Night Blitz 3, it'll probably be a Patreon show. The audience for Season 2 was much smaller than Season 1, and it was at a level that was harming the channel. I love doing Monday Night Blitz, so Season 3 is definitely possible, but it wouldn't be here on TH-cam.

This game was good however how could you have a sequel to a franchise that doesn’t have a triple threat , a fatal four way or a 2on2 that way this game could be on 4 players . Might seem a little ungrateful but those add on along with a backyard steal cage match or even a ladder match would’ve been a good addition.
