City looks great so far! With the space between the new police station and cafe corner along with the tunnel in the barbershop/detective’s office modular, the space behind those buildings could make for a great alley scene. Possibly a courtyard with benches, tables, and greenery
Hmm I like your thinking. That could really be a great idea. I WAS THINKING SQUAD car parking between the hotel and police station. But may change that
I have to say, I really loved your last city but man I think I love the city even more. I really enjoy the small town feel and the details you put into this one block. It’s rare to see parking spaces, flags and so much more. I’m extremely excited to this city grow. Also, as far as you posting videos on this channel about the build, I am good either way I will watch both channels.
Thank you John I appreciate it and I think a lot of people don't realize I have a second Channel even though I try to say it is why I was asking about the videos here I just don't want to over post and destroy the progress I'm making with this new channel so far.
I've seen a ton of lego cities but this is looking to be the best one by far. Theres so much attention to detail and i'm here for it. Keep up the phenomenal work 🙏
City's looking great!! I'd love to see the building moc videos on this channel as I'm sure I haven't seen all of them. Also I don't believe I've ever seen a Lego water tower before. Very nice unique small town elements used in the background
Thanks, I may start posting them all here and change my primary channel all together. As for the water tower still trying to decide which version im gonna run with. :)
I was so sad seeing your old buildings crushed, but I absolutely love the start of your new City. Your newest MOC's are absolutely stunning. I especially love the back side and ally ways of your houses. They deliver so much details, which is awesome. I love it!
I would love to see the videos of the buildings here! it’s pretty cool how modular you make everything, even the lighting. Everything looks amazing so far, I love how much more depth and detail lights add to a city. I’m not sure what your final plans are for the city, but I think it would be pretty cool to have some action, like maybe a bank robbery, or car chase! Thanks for the update, and i can’t wait for the next one!
Awesome I will start posting some of those here soon as well. The lighting can be very tedious but to me it's worth the work because of the amount of realism it adds to a display. As for my plans with the city they just kind of come as I go LOL. I would like to have at some point at least one building catching on fire with ambulance and fire trucks coming to the scene for a rescue and other small scenes like that going on throughout the entire display.
Absolutely LOVE IT!! I was so happy when you made the decision to start over and I love the choice you made to start building slowly. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Thank you so much. I am making myself focus a lot more in Finnish each area before I move to the next. The problem I had with my last city is I was always in a hurry to make a video so I was always rushing projects. The end result being an okay City, but one that I really wasn't happy with.
@@BevinsBricks I can see that… don’t get me wrong. I absolutely loved your last city and I think you’re hands-down one of the best builders on TH-cam but this time you’re you’ve narrowed your focus and it’s really improve the quality of work. It’s definitely hands-down the best way to go and it really shows in the work you’re doing.
Awesome, seeing you in your early stages of a city build is so inspirational, and a mere dream to me at the moment. Looks amazing, love the detail and thought your giving to your process
Really great progress... love the different light temperatures and the alley ways and the backyards look fantastic, too. It's really inspiring for my own city projects. Thanks for your awesome work!
Looks awesome Daryl. One thing I found to make dusting much much easier, I also tiled off the roofs. Makes dusting the roof tops a breeze without all of the studs exposed.
Yeah, this is great im so excited for the city to come together!! Also, I reckon you should put the general store custom building directly next to the court house on the right side. ; )
I had debated that but I think for now I'm just going to stick with what I have as I'm going to be bringing some buildings around the back side but I'm still trying to plan it out in my head and how I'm going to accomplish it as I would like to do it on a 45° angle. But still have a lot of plans in the works.
Because it's you (and I may do it also being an electrician) I think you should have some overhead electrical service. It'd be really cool to see the wires going to the tops of your meter base weatherheads. Even if it was just in the "downtown" or old town section of town. You could also put a little power section that shows where it goes from overhead to underground. LOVE the city man! Thanks for the vids.
Lol, I have been playing with that very idea. Even considered making the wires have actual power too lol. Trying to figure the best way to get the wire to hang naturally .
Hi Daryl! This video is great! It combines all of the improvements you have been making over the years into one super instructional video! You are my LEGO hero! 🦈🦈🦈
Lol, this is exactly where I’m at! It’s easy to drop a building anywhere but to me it’s the road that’s the main feature. Like you said, there’s parking spots and not always a sidewalk plus these new street cars are 8 studs wide. Yes, it’s costly for a road but there’s so much detail with the road which is the cherry on the top. The rest just falls into place unless you’re running a train track. That needs laid first in my eyes then everything around that.
Wow this section of the city looks amazing so far. The buildings look fantastic together and really capture that small town feel. The Lights just make everything come alive and add so much the builds. Can't wait to see what's next. Awesome work buddy.
So far this is the most down to earth looking Lego city i have seen. And i mean that as a compliment. All the other cities i follow have an element of "this would look great here! Also let's add Spider-Man!" Heist scenes with money launders jumping roofs, an American Diner next to medival castle ruins. Don't get me wrong. They look great and are fun to watch. But this has the feeling of an actual small city so far and that is really refreshing. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, I took that as a compliment 😀 most city builders on TH-cam just grab a set slap it in the city and call it a day, so I totally get what you mean. I'm trying to add as much realism as possible to my display. I treat it more as a model hobby than I do Lego :)
@@BevinsBricks That is what i took from the video. Your balance with detail is amazing. you know when to add details but also when to stop. Also they made me picture real buildings. The cage thing around the ladder made me pause for a second and think of a building i might have seen in a movie once. It was attached to a somewhat older building, not really the most modern area. that paired with the style of the hotel and it's LED sign. You know the movies set in the 80s with sets of buildings build probably sometime in the 30s and having some sort of rundown charme to it? I really like your mocs and the work you do with the lighting in your city. I think you could try adding some fire hydrants on the street and sewer covers on the road. It had impressive detail.
I love the small-town feel of this street, and all the lighting is fantastic! I had an idea for the cars: Inductive power. If you use inductive power, you won't need to run wires into your cars, thus, they can be moved easily. Brickstuff has a demo on their channel if you need an idea of what I am talking about, and adafruit has the supplies if you wanted to try it.

just found this channel, making a home city of my own, wanted to get lights (for fun) never seen a channel have lights in their cities, this is amazing...
I love the more slice of life style of this part of the new city, as opposed to the bit intercity with skyscrapers and highways. I love the skyscrapers, don't get me wrong, but this is a nice change for sure!
I'll still place some.skyscrapers on the far end of the table. But want to focus more on small.town types of builds for now. Including some industrial stuff soon.
Someone finally added a Lego water tower to there Lego city I have been waiting a long tim to see this happen. That’s what have planned for my Lego city it will be different but love to see someone do this. Amazing Lego city update!
Have you ever looked at using induction LEDs? feel like this would be a great way to have lights in cars, have coils hidden under the road and no need to run wires and "tether" them to the roads
Please keep the link to the power supply pinned to the top. I plan on purchasing one this weekend. I also plan on buying some lights and will get the Tester at the same time.
Looks amzing holy cow, I think you can surpass Bricksie with how your lego city is coming along, later in the coming future. Hope to see you grow huge 👍
The detectives office just looks right where you put it in your city. Once I get the jazz club sometime between February and April 15th, my plan is to go lego store detectives Office, jazz club, Diner police station boutique hotel if I have the room. I know my back table can do 4 32 by 32 baseplates, no problem, and if it's needed, I am ok with moving my corner garage. I've never been a big fan of that set, so I am ok looking at the back of it as I walk past my city to my ps4 and batman/ scooby doo movie area.
@Bevins Bricks I feel that the 2nd and 3rd floors of the set didn't fit with the overall feel of what Lego was going for. I like the vet clinic, and the apartment is actually one of my favorite apartments Lego has ever done in modulars. It's just doing both on top of an auto service doesn't work for me.
Love the new city Daryl. How is the new channel coming along? Im hoping it’s going well. And I know you are experimenting with the amount of videos but I need more lol
Thanks man lol, yeah so far the new channel is doing awesome. But yeah still on a major learning curve. I can say view wise my new channel only have 2k less views than my old one for 30 days. Which is very impressive to me.

The progress is amazing and the lighting takes everything to the next level. Have you watched videos from Brick World? He lights his vehicles using the wireless connectors. I remember you saying they weren't very reliable for building connections but I wonder if they would work for the vehicles. Just a thought.
Can you put a contact plate on the street in various spots to place the cars on instead of wiring them? Then you can have a contact plate beneath all cars, move them around in the city to different spots and they'd still easily light up.
Thanks, The noise is probably a bad thing for the hotel but at the same time I looked at it as people might want to stay at the train station to go travel or people that just get in town need a place to stay.
Hi yeer man. Harray the city back in red building stage. 👍🙂👌I be doing same in next few day s. Pulled up my city in 4 so hr s pack modules in tubs moved house in two days. Now to ree build. Got the table s ready. To lay the plates and road plate and train tracks. And moduler an sets.landscaping. 🙂
Youve mentioned small building area and large building area but I was curious what you meant by that, I assume this vintage 1900s sector is the small building sectio of the city? Do you plan on eventually building a very modern section akin to nyc (just an example of a city off the dome lol) or are you keeping this aesthetic throughout? Im sure youve laid this out somewhere but I mustve missed it. Of all of the lego cities on youtube you and brickcrafts are by far the ones I look forward to the most, full custom buildings is an insane commitment to vision.
Yes,.if you.had seen my old city it was filled with skyscrapers. I still have several of them built, they just need finished with interiors and lighting. So that is the large area I refer to. With the small town space I'm working on being a more rural main street type of setup with houses and industry for people to work. :)
I use 6 wide as I feel 8 wide are too large. Even though 8 wide cars look so much better. But I would have to increase the size of every building to make an eight wide car make sense. My city name is Angelville named after my wife.
@@BevinsBricks th-cam.com/video/He-RVO5slG8/w-d-xo.html at about the 6:00 mark, tail lights, headlights, even a sound system. Super sick. Thought it might give you better options so as not to be stuck on the grid with vehicles at least.
Haven't found a good deal on those yet, if I ever did though you are absolutely correct those would save on parts. I currently have a very large Surplus on dark gray brick
I don't use the kits so when a area is finished you don't see the wires. The lighting kits you buy though yes wires are everywhere. Lighting isn't for everyone though. It is time consuming. But I'm an electrician and to me it's required :)

It's always fun to do a reorganization of a city sometimes it gives new inspiration too
Your electrician skills comes in handy not to use them 4:43 “ugly aftermarket kit” lol. I like the way you built the X ing paint into the road
Yeah those kits make a huge mess.
Just got a notification. Video is 5 days old, thanks algorithm
Sounds about typical for my channels lol
2 Questions: Are you operating six wide or eight wide cars in your city? What is the name of the town your currently working on?
I use 6 wide as I feel 8 wide are too large. Even though 8 wide cars look so much better. But I would have to increase the size of every building to make an eight wide car make sense. My city name is Angelville named after my wife.
Could you make a video on how you light your cars (and run wires to them) as I am interested to see how you do it
I will be showing that in the next city update video
@@BevinsBricks can’t wait
post the building vids here too pleese
Did I miss in the video where you source your lighting connectors? I have never seen a male to female wire for sale anywhere.
thats on my other channel th-cam.com/channels/V0ncTOFl5Sg53sLNGxvi6w.html
Check out G-town Brick's channel - he got a car light and sound system that is not hooked up to the grid. It's awesome
I will have to give him a look.
@@BevinsBricks th-cam.com/video/He-RVO5slG8/w-d-xo.html at about the 6:00 mark, tail lights, headlights, even a sound system. Super sick. Thought it might give you better options so as not to be stuck on the grid with vehicles at least.
Can you add an moc train to your city ?👌🏻
I am doing tracks and a train yes.
U NEED TO ADD A RR CROSSING GATE BY THE TRAIN TRACK1!!
If you watched the video you would know that is the plan !
Is it possible to hook up the lighting to a usb power bank kinda thing?
If you watched the video that is what I do :)
@@BevinsBricks I guess I missed it??? I only see the usb hub. Didn't see a power bank
How come you don't use 1x5x6 panels in your roads? I think they'd save you a lot of bricks.
Haven't found a good deal on those yet, if I ever did though you are absolutely correct those would save on parts. I currently have a very large Surplus on dark gray brick
Is that a water tower in the background 🙂
Yes, still needs finished though
when can i move in to this town? ❤
Need to put up some housing :)
Im not really a fan of oego lighting i will say it is really cool but i dont know how i feel about exposed wires and stuff
I don't use the kits so when a area is finished you don't see the wires. The lighting kits you buy though yes wires are everywhere. Lighting isn't for everyone though. It is time consuming. But I'm an electrician and to me it's required :)
@@BevinsBricks your so lucky im broke i got no money for legos i only have the boutique hotel i really want the downtown diner. Btw the general store is sooo cool i wiah it was a real set. It fits so well with the detectives office. I want so much but a 11 year old kid cant get nothing. My brother wants the jazz club for his bday and we are saving up for the diner.
Oh wow your going to put lights in the vehicles too, that will be cool and draining on your wallet
Absolutely, can't have a night scene without lighted cars :)
Amazing
Thanks
