He is the reason Lego has an Architecture line! He did the first designs for the Chicago Hancock tower, and New York Rockerfeller center ones and he did them as tall as your building is but then also the scale models he used to sell at conventions. LEGO hired him and the architecture line was born.

Far from it, but I have been in the hobby for almost 30 years. You can amass a lot of parts in that amount of time.

Bricks are bricks to me, Lego fitment is the best but offbrands are amazing as well. This building is 100% lego yes, but on filler buildings like the grey towers I have all the floor plates that are 32x32 in size are off brand from brickyard. I have started checking out some of the parts on webrick and such also and have been very pleased with the quality. To be in the hobby these days you got to look at all options. Because your right Lego has gotten very expensive. Im lucky as Ive been in the hobby for almost 30 years and have amassed a large amount of official parts in that time. I also recently started making and selling custom printed parts and I use offbrand parts to do that.

Thats how I feel so I totally agree. But you always have those that want to say you cheat or are using something illegal. To me if it fits and it works, use it.

Thanks, to me its a great way to add detail, as many parts have unique undersides. As for the illegal part. I think some use that as a way to devalue a build but others very well may be envious

Thank you so much I appreciate it. I love the building and have seen many other flatiron builds that could easily be done on a much smaller scale. One of my favorites is in Canada and its colors scheme is dark red and dark green.

Im going to brick build them. I have a large bag of tiles already sitting at the base of it as well. Still some trial and error to do to get them installed.

One stud into a single technic hole is legal but multiple studs on a single plate into multiple holes in a single brick is illegal technique.

I never felt it was illegal as I see no stress on the parts. But I always get comments on how it is, so I figured it was worth mentioning 😀

Thank you so much, when doing builds like this, its a lot of trial error to see what you can and cant do. I have 2 small spots on the building Im not super happy with and will probably change later. But wanted thr structure finished so I fudged them 😆

Yeah, I need to make the cap and build the final floor. Its not visable from the street, but it would make it a lot easier to do things like that.

Avengers has just been relocated to the floor with the daily bugle. :) not destroyed though.

@@BevinsBricks no. I got nominated for best landscape but didn’t win. It was fine. It was just cool to get nominated. First show ever and now there’s no holding back. Bigger and better haha
