    Honestly the black parking lot didn’t bother me. Where I live lots of places have a mix of concrete lots and blacktop lots. Same with roads. So it was good to me. But either way it looks good. The new addition of the gas station looks great. Those power polls look awesome and adds so much and every city has those and you never see them in LEGO cities. So bravo. Great city update.

    • @BevinsBricks

      Thanks man, Im with you I thought the black actually made the parking lot pop also. I think with a lot of things its people dont see cities done using black so it throws people off.

    Awesome city update Daryl! It's been a minute since I've watched your city updates and a lot has changed! I really like how realistic your city looks with all the detail and lighting! I think for the parking lot you should replace the yellow lines separating the spaces with white. Can't wait for future updates!

    • @BevinsBricks
      @BevinsBricks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, hope your doing well. For the parking Ive never seen anywhere by me anyway that uses white which is why Im leaving them yellow. I wish lego would make yellow for the road centerlines also.

    • @BevinsBricks

      I do notches by using 1x1 round plates, snot bricks for the wire I use either a headlight brick with an open back or snot brick with holes on both sides. I do drill holes in 4x4 plates for my lamp posts and to install the magnetic connectors in technic bricks.

    For the gas station for added realism I would pop out one or two of the 2x4 tiles and replace it with a 2x3 and a 1x1 with a small plant piece because whenever you go to a small town gas station always in one spot there is a patch of grass spouting in the middle of cracked concrete!

    You could put a billboard at the backside off the gas station. I think it would fit there because people can look at it when entering the station by train. I would recommend the decorated reddish brown 8x16 tile from the once upon a time book.

My only gripe is with the parking spot, which seems kind of weirdly uniform with those 4 bushes and 3 trees perfect centre. it would make a huge different with something a bit less symmetrical, maybe even a larger tree in the corner? idk. it looks so cool. keep it coming 👍

      @@BevinsBricks agreed. 2x4 would be too wide. Hopefully they end up coming out with one. I guess the only other option would be custom stickers (if that is something you would want to do). If not, I think it looks perfectly fine the way that it is. It’s such a small detail that most people wouldn’t notice

    Lately I've noticed clips of audio being too aggressively spliced together. Sometimes a sentence can't even finish before the next one starts. Generally one should leave a longer and more natural gap between two clips or when removing parts of one, otherwise it becomes very unpleasant to the ear.
    I do enjoy this video series. The vintage style architecture and custom lighting is very nice.

    • @BevinsBricks
      @BevinsBricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually do that on purpose due to some classes I had taken for editing on youtube. They claim leaving pauses makes people loose interest. So I try to keep pauses short. I will note that and work on it though. :)

    • @FactorySoylent
      @FactorySoylent ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BevinsBricksYour classes are correct. If you leave a five to ten seconds of silence, that's not good. Many channels in hobby genres make this mistake, and that emptiness is bad editing. But a space for something that's similar to a normal breath is not unwanted either. If you listen to most of your video, you speak with a normal pace and rhythm, and that is good and enjoyable to listen to.
      The cuts if refer to do make me pay attention, but only to the fact that it sounds artificial. Especially when words literally overlap, or when one part ends low, and the next part is immediately high, with no natural transition. My attention is then only drawn to the audio editing, not the Lego.
      I'm not telling you to stop editing out long pauses where you're thinking of what to say next, or taking out parts where you say something you feel is a mistake, but just make sure that what you leave behind fits together naturally and sounds like human speech. Some audiences do like that fast paced hyper-cut style, but I'd guess your audience enjoys something that fits naturally and well together, not something that is cut, filed, and super-glued. (Maybe they'd accept a few machine drilled holes for electrical wiring!)

    • @BevinsBricks
      @BevinsBricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FactorySoylentlol, yes and I do the machine drilling also 😂

    • @FactorySoylent
      @FactorySoylent ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BevinsBricks I know, and that's fine. The results speak for themselves, and I think everyone agrees the lighting in your city looks great because of that. But those magnetized bricks are a pretty nice innovation. It's cool how your modular city can actually be truly modular, and not have every section be connected to each other in a spaghetti mess of wiring!

      I think you should extend it towards the tracks and have it be a place to unload and load trains. Could work nicely. However, the passenger station down the line might be a small problem. Eh, that's how it goes IRL in America if I'm not mistaken.
