I’ve been really happy with the lighting products I’ve bought from you and the magnets are great. Just when I think I’m getting to a point to take a break lighting my city, you share an awesome option like lighting cars that are movable and totally my plan to take a break. Lol excellent job
This new lighting and wiring system is an absolute game changer. Really looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labor as the city grows and evolves!
It really makes doing lights a snap, Thanks, having a lot of fun with all the new mods. Should be adding more buildings and the intersection in the next city update.
A lot of work but it is worth it. That lichting system of you works perfect. And a great suggestion of the watchers to move that train shed. It looks absolute better this way
The magnet system is pretty cool. I am already using those wireless power connectors for a while to connect the baseplates to each other. It makes the powering so easy and with a magnet it works even better I think. :)
The modular connectors are a great way to do it more affordable, but I love my magnetic connectors. Trying to figure out a way to make them more affordable, so always playing with new ideas.
These new modular circuit connectors are a game changer! Right now I'm running battery pack craft lights, and that's troublesome and limited. This is most impressive.
Thanks, yeah I can't stand using batteries. It's why I use the vintage train tracks also. My lights are all ran on a usb power supply, and with the connectors and the lighting system I sell it makes lighting buildings a piece of cake :).
Thank you so much I appreciate it, not a kid though getting old lol, 50years :) Still mentally feel like a kid 😆 I've been an electrician for 30 which is what gives me my passion for lighting.
The move does make the train station look great and raising the tracks for crossings is sweet. All the tracks where I’m from are all small, medium or large hump. Those lights add so much detail along with the tracks details. The magnetic wireless connecter was a genius creation. Looks fantastic man. Glad to see a new video.
Thanks John, hope things are going well with the new bricklink store also buddy. With the lighting products I'm blown away with the popularity of them.
This is such a brilliant idea Daryl! I'm definitely going to invest in this system when I get my lego city up and going. Your train shed and station are amazing also. It definitely was a good idea to move the shed back. Keep up the amazing work. 👍
Thank you so much, with the lights and magnetic connectors. I'm looking for a way to get them mass produced, as they sell out so fast and take me a lot of time to solder up. But I'm beyond surprised at the popularity of them. I never thought people would like them so much.
Thats a huge compliment thank you, as I enjoy brickcrafts channel myself. I will be adding a membership to my channel soon, the main benefit will be 15% off all orders on my website and free instructions. :)
Thanks, yes it's so nice to be able to just push buildings and roads together and not need to worry about wires and connections, and makes swapping sections out a snap.
I wish i could get 9 volt trains and tracks but besides bricklink i dont know what would be the best way to go about fonding some. All the train motors on bricklink all seem to missing pegs or so (no idea what aprt of rhe train motor that is unless its the fronts and back?)
Well honestly the best way to get the track if your willing to spend 1 to 2k is find a bulk used lot for sale on Facebook marketplace. That was how I got such a large amount. Bricklink will cost you a fortune buying from multiple places just in shipping. It is a good place to get started though. If you don't mind off brand tracks you can also buy trixbrix track as they sell 9v also. :)
Thanks so much, I came up with those because I was tired of having to reroute wires everytime I wanted to change something. They sell so fast I can't even keep them in stock.
Incredible commitment to get the wiring so clean and it works wonderfully. Also the train tracks are starting to look amazing ballasted. No idea why I chose black sleepers for mine. Might have to change that in the future. Great work as always Daryl
Thank you so much I appreciate it. Most people choose black for the sleepers on the track as it's usually easier to come by and less expensive so I don't blame you there. I have also seen people use light blueish grey and that looks amazing also.
I'm thinking about getting some of the lighting kits for some of my trains, is there a way to plug your lights into a PF battery box or will I have to accommodate another battery pack onboard?
Awesome, they are great for making the trains modular. As for the battery packs, I'm hoping to have a few more options available in the near future for pluging into the Lego power packs and using button cells, but currently yes the only option I have is using aaa battery box.
Yes there is added resistance with this type of connection but we are talking about 1/10 of an ohm. So even with 10 of these your now only looking at a total loss of 1 ohm. Not something work calculating for. 😀
Well I keep all circuits at under 1 amp of draw. Not worried about current drop as there isn't enough length in any circuit for it to be a concern. The magnets are rated for 5 amps and the wire is good for 3 at 5volts. At least I have tested it at that current. But I still only run 1 amp per circuit as my power supply is rated for 1.5 amps per port. Quick rule of thumb, 100 leds is 1 amp 😉
Oh I'm sure all companies will come out with versions of it at some point. Just a matter of time. But that's a good thing, make people think and get creative :)

Thanks, I did look into getting a patent but after talking with an attorney and them explaining the costs and how easy it is to get around the patent it's not worth trying it. As the way they explained it all a company would need to do is change the plug type or wire or installation point and i wouldn't have a case and if I was to cover all bases it would cost me roughly 1k per patent.

That's all pretty great. Do you have any plans to do any vertical magnet connectors? Like, where you can take a floor off a modular building and not have to disconnect the lighting?
I currently offer the modular building connector that does that, and it's also what I use for the cars. I am toying around with a vertical magnet but it will cost more and it will be 1 brick tall, which would make it less convenient for buildings.

Hello Peter Yes I do offer flat rate to the UK for 17usd no matter how much you buy. With the mils connectors I'm hoping I will be able to stock them again in 2 weeks. The problem I have is my supplier runs out of them fast sadly. Seems to be an issue with several items. I will also make a post in community tabs when they are back in stock. 😀
maybe, now you have more space in front of the train station and 4 tracks, make two more platforms between the tracks and a pedestrian bridge over the tracks from the train station platform to the other platforms? cast iron inspired?
Your 1x2 brick magnetic wire connectors are a great idea. I foresee other brick lighting companies creating similar connectors once the word is out. But I believe your wired magnetic train couplers are going even more popular once you make a video about them. I would create a healthy stock of those before making that video.
Thanks and yes I do expect other to male and offer them as well. Which hopefully with be a good thing. Maybe others can come up with a more affordable solution. On the train connectors I currently have about 50 made and trying to get another 50 and plan to include the use of them in my next city update :)
Thanks 😊, I like to do a combination of both as I have every modular building ever released and love them. But still enjoy doing mocs as well. Usually my mocs tend to get a bit large though lol.
@BevinsBricks yes sir. I've been following you from my first day back into LEGO 4 years ago. But you do make some great MOCS, and I love the smaller ones just as much.

The magnets are definitely a revolutionary concept! I love how smooth it works out and makes for such a great night scene in the city.

@@BevinsBricks Haha, that just shows you created a great product. High demand on something is always a double edged sword it seems

Bevins Bricks is truly on another level. Can't wait for the next update
Thanks so much, trying to actually get more work done on the city lately. Hoping come spring I can post more regular updates. :)
Just looks so good in the city an the magnets🤩
You are truly one of my favorite Lego youtuber😉
Thank you I appreciate that, I'm gonna work in a intersection and get more buildings placed for the next update.
well, I know what I'm doing once I get around to adding lights to my city. That is such a genius idea! Many many kudos to you.
Thank you so much they can be a bit figety but using the friction pins helps a great deal.
I really like the magnet connectors. I'm way to ADHD with my city and love moving things around. That is the biggest reason I avoided lights.
Thanks, yeah the way most companies sell light kits was a big reason I didnt like them at first myself. But I cant get enough of lights now.
Love seeing the city updates Daryl!
Thanks, hope to make them more often once fall gets here
