We will see how underrated the new ones become, the old ones, especially the RSP20CR seems really criminally underrated. A shame that this model did not get a replacement. No more VH7 pickups. Instead they seem to have improved the body instead. Overall the new RSP humbucker versions seem to be a downgrade on the pickup front.

I have a riff really similar to that but more metally and what you played made me feel bad about mine 😭 I liked the shift in rhythm. I have some variation happening but hearing that makes me think I should add more.
I have the RS502-T in Bowden green that I bought in 2017 as my first "serious" guitar for around 600 € if I remember correctly. I tuned it to C standard and just can't go back, you can't beat the tone of P-90 with a gnarly fuzz in drop tuning ! It sounds fantastic both clean and dirty, though it can get quite noisy because eh single coil. The shielding job is absolute shit, there is barely any conductive paint, so you should consider upgrading that if you're concerned about 60 cycle hum or playing with heavy distortion. tl;dr : you'll love it!
The P90 one is my favourite one from the three. Sounds and looks awesome! Enjoyed the tones and the riffs. Thanks for the demo my dude. Now I have GAS ahahaha.

Those are retail prices and generally at market 20 percent less - other reviews are quoting market price in line with previous revstars - I have the same guitar as you as well a shop black with out the tail piece abs hotter nickel p90s - but always was sure a Japanese made one was gonna be a must for me and glad i waited …

I’ve always been intrigued by Yamaha guitars, particularly the old Les pauls and the rev stars I would love to try the p90 one out, although I’m not really a fan of 12in radius all my current guitars are vintage spec fenders so anything in the Gibson style realm is a big jump from scale length, radius, pickups & etc

Had a P90 one with flamed maple veneer denim colored top. Cool guitar, but heavy as a log… Seeing these are now chambered, I’m sure this is partially or mainly due to the challenge to get lightweight quality tonewoods these days for affordable prices.

I've watched like a shit load of videos about the new revstars and for some weird reason I always prefer the sound of the Element versus the higher spec models. I think its because of the ss frets, they sound very bright for my taste. Or is the pickups on the element to me the element sound like an Sg or a les paul maybe. Low output alnico PAF sounds and focus on the mid range. Am I going crazy here?
I‘ve got the RSS20 in green. It is a great instrument! The only thing I don‘t like, is the bit wobbly push/pull tone knob. Yesterday I‘ve had the chance to test the RSP20. Guess what? The same wobbly knob as on the standard model! In general, the difference in feel and quality was about 5% to me! What is your experience? Do you also have a wobbly tone knob?
What's the story with the gold top? Can it be purchased instead of returned? I don't mind contacting my neighborhood dealer to get one, but thought I'd ask. Cheers from Monterey, CA.

P90's are a bit noisy with distortions or fuzz. But ok with overdrive. But they actually sound awesome with high gain too. More clear. More punchy. My main guitar is a US tele with p90's. I have to managed to keep it quiet and silent while I'm not playing (beginning or end of the songs for example)
@@keramkaibukaj I already have a quite big pedalboard so I use the easy (lazy) way. Volume knob turned to zero or I turn off the dist (or the fuzz). In studio, you wouldn't give a damn about the noise, cause it is only present when you don't play and have high gain engaged . But in live situation, I guess a kill swith on the board or a volume pedal could be a good solution. Once again, it's only a (little) problem with high gain drive. They are still my favorite PU. Strong and powerful as HB (though not in the same way) and punchy and cutting in the mix like single coils. Oh I was thinking, I never used a noise gate but I'm thinking about trying one. Cause for using the volume knob or switching of the pedal you need to be right on time, especially at the end of a song. I don't want to scare you. It worth it. Not a big thing to deal with ! 😉

Wait what? the 1800€ professional is 2800 dollars? Aussie Dollars? Canadian? Hong Kong? And the Standards have P90s too, while the professional have VH5 versions too. Yamaha should have paid more for this and send you the whole line up for comparison … or at least just a bunch of P90 versions as those are the stars here anyway. And certainly at least send you a link to their whole line up. ;-)
The standard series is hardly too expensive! $800 for a guitar that needs no upgrades, unless you want locking tuners. Great pick-ups, stainless steel frets, carbon rod neck reinforcements, shielded electronics, focus circuit, mahogany body and neck, with a maple top and great build quality, not to mention, IMO a nice design. That's a deal!

I haven't tested that much, but from the ones I've done, pots really doesn't matter that much. I think there's a reason why all big brands just continue to use the cheap stuff. It doesn't matter as much as other things

Revstars are the most criminally underrated guitars today. Fit, finish and playability of those things is insane.

The standard version is available with p90s and no racing stripe.
