    It has been fantastic watching your progress on The Python over all this time. Every change has been satisfying, but the cumulative effect has been even better! Some of your changes were for style and preference, and others for practicality for it to fit in your city, but they've all been well thought out, sensible and very well implemented. Kudos Robin, you've done it again!

    Maybe you should replace the grilles on the side of the cab car with 1x4 tiles in black as there will be no equipment in it. Will you also add Jacobs Bogies to the locomotive? And will you add a polarity switch to the locomotive so it wont go in reverse.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think I need a polarity switch. This is all on one motor!

  • @Baconbs718
    @Baconbs718 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I think on the driving trailer you such just the smaller bogies so that locomotive look likes it has driven bogies and driving trailer non driven bogies like my teyvat class 137. The driving trailer and coaches have the bogies to each other and power car has bigger bogies for the traction motors

      Easily done if you wanted to do that!

  • @datguymiller
    @datguymiller ปีที่แล้ว

    I've mentioned this before, if there's a jaycobs bogie on one end it's on the other end, yeah on trainsets with jaycob bogies it's the bogies that connects them to the locos, the added weight increases adhesion to the rails along with smoothing the ride greatly (big railfan here)

  • @gaelgonzalez2193

  • @rbleisem
    @rbleisem 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Robin, it needs one wagon more, to really look good.
    Now it looks a bit too short.
    Will you look into adding a second engine or would that take too much wire?
    Because it would also let you light the tail lights as well, if you go that route.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, too much wire for not much benefit. It doesn't really need a second motor. Back lights would be great but it's a lot for that small detail!

    • @rbleisem
      @rbleisem 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobinHoodBricks So something for if instead of one extra wagon, you add, say, three to five, more?
      But then she gets a bit too big for your station, I recon.
      Also waaay more wires.
      As for your selling points in the trains, have you considered using those car doors?
      Put the fix-in-place stuff on the turning joint location and...
      Only need to place the storage racks to the side, so folks can pass by.
      Which would also solve that dept problem with that one car.
      Might even solve some problems with some of your other trains, their eating wagons.
      Say, will you re-up the engines on your freighttrain?
      Maybe add a few extra locomotives?
      Do think that you should place the loco's, that can be placed back to back, together, as a unit.
      Bonus if you can join that two into that freight logo color code, that you have a couple of tiles, off.
      Do look up the older lego steam trains with a engine, see if you can grap their drive beam side setup or not.
      If you can, think Garrett or Mallet or perhaps both.
      Do look up wind energy, you have today, three or four different setups, the standaard windmill, a vertical blade one, a horizontal blade one (that could fit on a roof top or edge), and a vibration one.
      Could maybe be a adition to your @sweat building?
      Trains generate wind, for one.
      Now I know you ain't going to create a train layout that is basically on first floor or rooftop, level.
      But if placed in the right corner, it could show off a nice former train/metro track, that is now a urban park or so.
      Unless you want to give your Batman, a hidout for his transport options.
      So, where are all the roof gardens?
      Have you seen the Shuri's Sunbird 76211 set, yet?
      Some fun part, there, like a light blue see true window version of the ones you used on this train or that part you used for you undersea-base, it's moon-pool (2X).
      Why don't you check it, to see if there is anything you like?
      Because some of the structual work might I think, work quite well for some train locomotive setup for engine cover to cabin, transfer.
      Say Robin, a question, where is the old city gate (and wall) of the old inner city of the town?
      Might be the place a big red door, on it's side, could be used as a outer defence shutter like door, with a metal grill plate behind it, for extra frustration and kill-box effect, before the more normal doors are put in place.
      Yes, see if you can add that Ninjago Temple Door to your Brick Nothing(?)Ham Castle.
      Bonus if the Forrestmen can be seen stealing the Ham, again.
      Bit of a shame you can't use some of the newer Castle set to create a inner city castle wall or so.
      Near the monorail station in the harbour section and the Bounty, might be a potential location, when you think about it.
      Find a few other locations and....
      Will you go for the Lego ideas Smithy, by change?
      Both sides need a place to get new weapons, from.
      Say, would my brickling gallery have some ideas for you to use?
      Even if you have to modify some of them, that is.
      Anyway, till the next time.

    Hi robin looking good ... Deff better now although on reflection I have 1 thing....
    I noticed it when you put in that Buffy section and now I can't un see it 😂
    😂😂
    It's the fact the figs can't see out of the the windows while standing 😂😂😂
    And if you reverse the black bricks above the window to the bottom it also raises them to the same hight of the doors ...
    You could leve the ones on level +1 and -1 because it's not as obvious there or just raise them in the buffet section....
    The other thing what sort of gripes me is that grill in the buffet car....
    You said you placed it more forward but why just not replace more of the grill for Windows ??
    It's not like you need it... And you can can ceep the arrow but like you said using the dark windows in place of that stripe.....
    That's just a few things I noticed.....
    Have fun building and see you soon

    I really dig the lime wedge plate giving that slice of color. Just imagine the buffet shelves as being able to swing up or to the side for egress. I like the little green switch indicator. Maybe on the back engine it could have a red one.
    What speed do you typically run the trains at? Full speed seems too fast to me personally, and it looks like it would be tough to catch much detail if they are going too fast.

    • @chrischristiansen6204

    You could call the service "The Python" and name the individual train "Monty".

    Train motors in general sometimes get a bad rep with the custom Lego train community because "they don't have any power." In truth, they have plenty of power at high speed, but very little at low speed. This means that while yes, they are underpowered for a slow-moving freight train, they're often perfectly adequate for a high-speed passenger train. And if you can squeeze their massive bulk under the tender of a streamlined passenger steamer, you should be good to go for high-speed service on any layout, especially large ones with wide curves and shallow grades.

    I recently watched a review of the 75955 Hogwarts' Express, a set I own but have never built. When showing the passenger carriage something bothered me about it. It was the sticker in the center that really made me notice the lack of detail. The whole carriage just looked flat and boring. I believe that I now notice this after watching your train builds and the attention to detail. I imagine that you would have recessed the sticker or framed it in some way. It's your attention to details that really make your channel interesting.

    When you do the interior, you really need a ticket person 🎟
    Also, I would style the bar and food section similarly to the APT trains, if you need some photos i can send them, or you could see it for yourself at the Crewe Heritage Centre.🚄
