If there will be water next to the racetrack you could do a small nod to how Formula1 in Monaco was in the 50's and 60's. They only had haybales to block drivers from driving off the pier into the water. A few drivers have gone through those barriers and driven into the water, there are some spectacular pictures you can find from 1965 where a car is mid-air taking a nosedive towards the water having gone through the haybale barriers, so you could just put a car in the water then.
An idea to do... you could have a lorry trying to do a U-turn at one of the road closers. Would be a funny little scene with a very angry driver who forgot about the race.
This is the annual race called The Brick Darby 5000, where all the people in Brick Darby race to escape and migrate to BrickNottingHam, only the first 3 racers get to move there.
I was going to say get black track, but that pan over it after you got it in place looked really good with purple! Adds even more color and pop to the area!
Race track looks amazing. I think black or even red roller coaster tracks would look better on the bridge. I love your use of the stickers for advertisement, adds so much detail
Add black tiles on the railroadcrossing to make skidmarks, or maybe some skidmarkstickers, or a mix of the two😊 Also: the colors on the monorail infastructure should correspond with the tram on that part of the line, the stickers from 60097 are transparent so should be doable😊
Yeah it's a toss up between one set of colours for the whole network or one for each line. I went for the former as what if they share a stop? Half red, half orange would look bleurgh!
@@RobinHoodBricks make one platform for each line on each side maybe, in my opinion you should have one big terminal for all lines where all trams travel to, like on the overpass over the main station, with tracks on either side, hard to explain it in a understandable way in a youtube comment😉
On the first corner of the race track, it goes suddenly 90 degrees. I think they would try and "curve" the road with hoarding or tyres to highlight to drivers there's a bend, could add multiple Part 30258pb001 behind. Could do this with multiple hinge plates? Have you got plans to add more barriers. I fear for the women with the pram 😂
8:30 I think the “CB” is the City Bank logo. I love the builds this week! The tire bridge is great but it almost looks like “Dun-o-lop” with the tire in the center. What If you move the “Dun” & the “Lop” back together and then use the white tire as the “o” in “Dunlop”?
I love watching this city come together. Maybe add a terrified minifig driving a small smart car who accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up in the race. Similarly to the one stuck between the rail lines in your old city. Or a bookie taking bets behind the stands maybe…
I love the bridge, the thing that bothers me on it is actually the brown walkway. The purple feels like it works. The chicane barrier on the south edge feels like it is one stud too far into the road. Having 2 studs covered would feel a little better for the flow of the turns. Also since this area would be a massive slow down maybe another tire barrier along the left side past the curves since crashes would be more likely at such sharp turns at speed. Or maybe more so, haystacks on that end. Nice video today. Look forward to the next.
The king of stickers strikes again. Awesome scene. One suggestion is to swap the reddish brown jumpers on the bridge for black jumpers. They’ll create a more complete tire look with jumpers for treads :)
yeah, we got the racetrack!! great video as always. Maybe its an idea to make the first obstacle of you chicane a little bit wider by inserting one more white slope in between the red curved ones? And I would change the purple tracks on the tirebrigde to black - or the letters to white.
These last few build videos have been really great. I like the previous suggestions to change the roller coaster track to black and change the brown steps to black as well. I also liked the suggestion to move the middle chicane a bit to the right to make it look a little more feasible. Enjoy the holidays!
A couple of suggestions. A crash with emergency around and media filming race and accident. Well done on saving everything for so long. I'm going the same with collecting Lego till I have the room to be able to not only build it but also have a city
If the scale works maybe Bumblebee from the transformers could be standing as an observer and one of the racers ran over his foot causing damage to his car? Or looking on horrified at the car accident like he witnessed a murder. ;p
I work at a race track and I would have to say that you need to make a Safety Crew/ Fire Rescue Crew, so basically a little fire vehicle like a pick up truck or side-by-side with fire extinguishers and brooms in order to clean up any mess from a crash or spill and a tow truck
I think it looks amazing! Idea: maybe the first red chicane/Round but could be slightly to the right, more centered from end round and low red and white end. Making it more joined and flow better. Just an idea! Love watching this city develop.
Love the tire bridge., love the lettering and the white sign, and the placement. I think Black Rollercoaster track would look better. And I know you love the white tire, but a Yellow dash between Dun and Lop would really look like writing on a tire. The white tire is a little bit "eye ball" like 😅. But maybe that's just my poor bandwidth and video quality on my phone rn.
Thank you for the amazing Video. The race track looks great and i love the tire bridge. I think you could exchange the purple Track for Black and maybe use the purple one for a sign for the Asteroid Bank(like some kind of saturn ring with a rocket maybe)?
The tire bridge is a triumph! Wonderful job with the positioning and lettering. That portion of BrickNottingham is shaping up to be just as packed and stacked as we expect from you. Can’t tell you how much I am enjoying watching you build in the new Lego room.
Totally love that tire bridge! And the race is much more interesting to look at than I originally envisioned. Great idea! I actually think the purple looks really good.
Oh wow Robin! Wonderful and amazing 🤩 although i have to agree about the black coaster track and black steps. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family and I'm really looking forward to seeing the pub and all of your other builds coming into the city!
What a cool concept. The tire bridge is a neat addition and def makes the street race stuff feel very realistic. Look forward to seeing the entire scene fully completed with figures, the new modular, etc!
On the left side in the corner after the chinca you should add some protective tires. I was doubting about the racetrack but it turned out great Robin. Well done
The Chinese/Japanese Sticker is very likely the wrong way round. The red/white Shell pieces might be used in a slightly different type of barrier where you have the pieces in the middle of a 6 wide block (1x2 red brick, 1x2 red Shell, 1x2 red brick; followed by 1x2 white brick, 1x2 white Shell, 1x2 white brick; repeat until you run out of space) with red and white plates on top.
Hi Robin! For your next big build like the mall (where it is separated into different episodes) etc you should do a mega hospital with children wards, maternity wards, surgery rooms, clinics as I think it will make your city even cooler Love your content btw
The race track details look great in the center of the city. Do be careful with the Tudor miror build as it has the angled ground floor so I’m not sure if there are wedge plates that might not be reversible - meaning you’d have to get them separately. Just worth checking before you start to build.😊
You could use offcuts of white sticker sheets (I mean the white framing around the stickers) to continue the red/white stripe pattern on the large red round slope pieces of the chicanes.
An idea for a scene: a telehandler "fishing" a crashed car of off the track. And I love how all the red pops out, to really make it a racetrack! you struck the right balance there.
happy winter solstice =] what a great scene, on time for the annual revolution of earth revolving around the sun, just perfect; copernicus would be proud too, keep it up,,
Woo Pythagorean Theorem mentioned! As someone who studied math in college, the lego math of the tire bridge is exciting! Love how this turned out and excited to see the city keep taking shape! Also, a suggestion! Surprised they don't have one already, but a Vita Rush sponsored race car would be a great addition to the seen with the orange colors giving some great variation!
I think an interesting scene with the racecars would be on one of the corners where a racecar is clipping the exit of the corner with their rear and a fan is having to matrix dodge under the spoiler.
It could do with Armco barriers, even behind the tires, but especially where the racing line can cause the cars to leave the track. The Japanese characters are upside down. Also: "Careen", not "career".
I cannot see the white tire with black center as anything other than a googly eye. 😂 Once you see it... Can't say I'm a fan of the bridge, but each to their own. I would have probably gone for a faux tunnel entrance and exit for getting to the other side. ;)
Wow great details and an Amazing Dunlop sign I would keep the purple and the skateboard sign. I would only turn the man standing on top of the bridge so he can see the cars coming from the distance and perhaps add some more tires when the cars come from wall otherwise they might break through these ones...For the rest have a great holiday period and a great start of the new year and can't wait for your next plans, builts and ideas for 2025.
The tire bridge is looking great, I say keep the purple hand rail, it gives it a lil pop. But you should definitely having a crashed racer that slammed straight into the tire wall. Cone it off and let the racers drive past, true Brick Nottingham style.

You should use the bottom left hand corner of the track and stage a crashed car and have marshals attending and waving flags etc. And swap the purple out
What you should do is one of the cars crashed into the the tyre wall And also when you do they podium what you should do is one of the drivers knocking over the winners trophy like what Lando Norris did to Max’s trophy at the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2023. Great job and Merry Christmas
I love it! Race car scene looks great, however how about a car crash coming into the first corner, someone losing their brakes?🤔😅 Maybe a two car crash or pile up? 😂😂. I haven't seen a race car crash in Lego race theme.
Hi, Robin! Have you changed your posting schedule? I notice you have weekly videos on Friday's only, lately. The race course looks pretty good. I would suggest moving the right part of the slalom, 2-4 studs to the right. It would make it look a little more visually appeasing.
Race track is looking 👍 good. What about some race Marshall's wearing high viz jackets holding there respective coloured warning flags that they wave to warn the drivers of any problems etc. Do lego do any form of hay bale too? Keep up the good work 👏 😊
Its too bad that Duplo wouldn't work as well for the tire brand without some extra creative freedom to get it centered or broke it up as Du- plo. Or maybe as Duplos. Maybe work the white tire as the eye of a red rabbit head like they have on the duplo branding. Maybe their flagship product was big truck wheels since the brand is on the larger scale? ;p I like the purple for the color splash. I was going to suggest white but I think the purple gives the best balance since it wont blend in with the gravity games white signs then. The mid straight chacane looks a little too tight to the corner to me by a couple studs maybe. Though it would certainly encourage them to slow down to make the corner. The road stripes have some nice symetry with the grocery awnings.
I think what would be fun is to make a half car. Only the back of a car and put it againt the wall underneed the yellow bridge. Than thar car is in first place.
Imagine your Minis flying out the subway are hurtling towards (and disturbing) the race, would you maybe consider this, or is there a definite plan for that scene? I love the Dunlop bridge
@RobinHoodBricks I only ask because looking at the space under the bridge just looks so bare! If a car or somthing is there would help with the allusion of the city and race going further
I only ask because I've never used the roller coaster track pieces, can you possibly add clip pieces to the tire sign to help support the connection? the other thought is maybe a different connection jumper plate or some other connection for the sign? I like the sign but I just wish it was possible to strengthen the connection.
The roller coaster edge is annoyingly shaped on the edge but it can take clips on the diagonal lattice in the centres. It's fine when it's in position, Moving it makes it fall apart but the same is true of my lovely blue girder rail bridge, haha!
Oooooooo, Robin, that chicane looks extremely dangerous and sketchy, those cars would probably have to go down to 2nd gear at least, maybe even 1st, and it looks like the perfect place for a repeat of the start of the 2017 qualification race for the Macao grand prix, where all but 4 cars were wrecked in a huge pileup on lap 1. That being said, if you are going to have such a dangerous obstacle, that's probably one of, if not the slowest parts of the course, so it's probably the least bad place to put it
The only issue with that is I'd need a hill for each tunnel to go into for it to make sense. Then the facades would need to be on the hill and it would have to be vertical next to the track etc etc!
The purple should definitely be swapped out for a darker colour (black/grey) as it stands out too much in an awkward way. The bridge looks fantastic otherwise! (Side note: is that the custom figure that I sent in? Or was it someone else? Either way, great placement!) Love the street race, looks amazing. As you like the, lets say, imaginative scenes, it could be ‘fun’ to have a car thats crashed into the barrier and missed the corner - could add an interesting story.
I think you and I have very different ideas of "fun", that chicane looks extremely dangerous and sketchy, and if I was a driver, I'd probably refuse to race on that course. those cars would probably have to go down to 2nd gear, maybe even 1st, where the course is just barely wide enough for 1 car to fit through. Honestly, it looks like the perfect place for a repeat of the start of the 2017 qualification race for the Macao grand prix, where all but 4 cars were wrecked in a huge pileup on lap 1. That being said, if you are going to have such a dangerous obstacle, that's probably one of, if not the slowest parts of the course, so it's probably the least bad place to put it.

Wow the cars are so tiny then. The lack of barriers etc is more like Brick Nottingham. We have an old skool race here!
An idea to do... you could have a lorry trying to do a U-turn at one of the road closers. Would be a funny little scene with a very angry driver who forgot about the race.

I was going to say get black track, but that pan over it after you got it in place looked really good with purple! Adds even more color and pop to the area!
Yeah! And it complements perfectly with the yellow lettering as well
Yea the colour combination reminds me of 1970s underpants
Very cool build though I had a Dunlop bridge on my scalextric the real one was at Donington Park
There needs to be a lightning strike or some Greek statue pop up when the power of Pythagoras comes into play
Maybe have it for when you need to get tricky with the math or connection points. Maybe a Greek/geek minifig statue like zues with glasses?
That's a welcome idea. It wouldn't come up often though, haha!
Race track looks amazing. I think black or even red roller coaster tracks would look better on the bridge. I love your use of the stickers for advertisement, adds so much detail
Yeah it took a while to move them all but it was worth it!

add a siding in one of the metro stations with an old metro car with graffiti on it with over grown grass and rusty pannels on the floor and stuff

Well done on the logo. I read this after discovering that myself.

I like the purple for the color splash.
And there's me sourcing black track to replace the purple!
Looking great
Thanks very much!
Well done!
Looks really nice 👍 not a big fan of the white tires but it's not my city 😉👍
Fair enough!
Dunlop Bridge looks amazing!!
I'm very happy with it too!
Please tell me you are going to make a half a car going into the wall
I've tried that before and it looked like half a car. I may do a crashed one though!
The purple should be replaced with black as long as each black track isn't crazy expensive!
Nah, it's ok. It's just not in many places and only two per set. I'll get it slowly!
i love the tire sign but i think dunlop makes junk tires. i love michelin or toyo tires lol
The white tyres are quite Michelin Man too!
Just a thought but how about having the italian job minis bursting into the race?
Of course they could but flying out of a subway stairs has to be more fun, no?!
How about a "facade" racecar appearing from the wall?
I've tried it before and it looks odd but I could have another attempt!
Red rola coaster tracks probably instead
I didn't even try red!
How about a very angry face driver annoyed by the traffic block 😡. Red 🍷 is the best 🎉 Enjoy Christmas with Mrs. Hood
That being said, if you are going to have such a dangerous obstacle, that's probably one of, if not the slowest parts of the course, so it's probably the least bad place to put it
You should put the race going out of a tunnel in the wall under the green bridge and another tunnel in the wall under the yellow bridge...
Either way, great placement!)
Love the street race, looks amazing.
A thought is if there is just the very front or rear of another car as a "façade" on the other side of the tracks at the wall?
Wonderful video, black half or quarter curve tiles as braking/skid marks?
Loose pieces get bumped or sucked up by a vacuum. Even though I did do that for the horse poop smear!
Purple has to go! It really clashes with the dark red!
I'll get the black ones in time!
Would it work to add a second layer of 2x4 wedge plates on the tire bridge to cover the gaps? Or maybe 2x3 wedge plates.
Also consider swapping the two checkered flags for other ones, There's no finishline there, is there?
They're to be waved by racing fans!
Is there Grey Rollercoaster track? Could look like the rims on the tire
Don't think so, no!
love the protective barriers.... how come you have stickers in Russian eg. гонка ? Where do you get them please?
I included the set numbers in the video. That one was 8161!
