    I have mine for the same time.. I agree with your requests
    ...BUT an added SDI out is a MUST too!
    Better still, a HDMI and SDI out would be perfect for TX send, Monitor and an EVF.
    BUT ABOVE ALL.. The cripplingly slow lag on the signal with HDMI out KILLS the focusing capability on this camera in almost ALL scenerios .. I use a Blackmagic 7" Video Assist 12g monitor as my onboard ext screen.. and you can go away and have a cup of coffee before the signal hits the screen!!

      Yes a couple of SDI connections would be an amazing addition. Especially if they can be configured within the menus on what they display via the output.

    Good overview of the S1H specs, features and controls. Great honest review of the pros and cons of this solid cinema camera.

    Great video. Panasonic do offer XLR input unit btw. The DMW XLR1 offers 2 XLR inputs with all the pro features you'd expect on a video camera. 🙂

      Thank you; as for the XLR adapter it is quite good and a plus from no XLR inputs. My only gripe with it is that I wouldn't trust it as a part of my full rig the same way I would the FX3 handle or C100mk2 handle are. If Panasonic make a more durable version that screws in vs clamps on I would be more confident in it supporting the rig weight. Other than that it is a solid addition overall.

    Anyone know how to punch-in during internal recording for focusing purposes? I updated to the latest firmware (2.6) but can't seem to figure it out

    Do you also notice the light streaking on very low-light, high light contrast shots while shooting in vlog? 😥

    surprise there was no mention of the low pass filter

      It's definitely a plus on the S1H but it just fell to the wayside on the brief list of positives and negatives this camera offers.

      I'm glad that it was helpful. I purchased an S5IIx and will eventually review it. My coworker has an S5II for their personal work and everything I've seen of it in brief demos has been excellent.

      The answer is YES. A whole lot better with native lenses, especially with the S series. Af with for example Sigma lenses is terrible.

    On the Panasonic S1H has it gotten all its autofocus firmware updates

    • @Laurence_of_Cinema
      @Laurence_of_Cinema  ปีที่แล้ว

      In its current state, yes. If Panasonic releases any future autofocus updates for the camera that improve its capabilities it will be a welcomed improvement.

      This is a cinematic camera, manual focus is what you use this Camera for. NOT FOR AUTO FOCUS!!

    • @Laurence_of_Cinema
      @Laurence_of_Cinema  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      While I understand the sentiment; unfortunately not everyone can afford to hire someone to follow focus. Plus with competitors like Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Fuji creating similar systems there's no excuse for the feature to not be included in any of Panasonics hybrid bodies. Now if Panasonic made a new EVA1 and priced it to compete against the FX9 sure but for now it is what it is.@@thewalkingvloggingman7152

    Should I get this or the s5iix? 😅

    • @Laurence_of_Cinema
      @Laurence_of_Cinema  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, it depends on what your style of shooting is. If you're in studio and looking for the highest quality to an external recorder with little need for autofocus then the S1H is the way to go. If you're on the move and need a lightweight package that provides excellent video and photo quality the S5IIx is the way. I plan to do a S5 review followed by a Hands-on S5IIx piece which I aim to be as concise as this S1H video which should help answer those questions. Otherwise I'll direct you to CVP and their S5II review as it's comprehensive.

      Hey that's a strange effect/issue; a couple questions. 1. What did you use as your primary editor? 2. Did you shoot 10bit 4.2.2? Would you be willing to share the original file this issue occurs on?
