- We take a ride in our imaginary DERM railmotor from Trentham to Lyonville, a part of the closed Dayesford railway line. This is part of the line the tourist railway at Daylesford hope to return trains to in the future.

THank you for taking me back through time. 3. things.
1. I remember going to Lyonville by train back in 1967. It was a walk with the Melbourne Bushwalking Club and we walked from from Lyonville to the Lyonville springs and then to the Trentham Falls then returning to Melbourne by train from the Trentham station.
2. On a trip to Trentham last year and rode to Lyonville and return on my recumbant tricycle. It was interesting to observe the growth of the timber up next to the track.
3. When the Daylesford community railway finally reaches Trentham, what will become of the walking/ cycling track? It would be good to have that as an option.

The tourist railway is working on the extension with the bicycle people and plan to have a trail as well as the railway extension to cater for both on this corridor. Its beautiful country through there for both the railway and walking, cycling. Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍😀
Brilliant. The memories of the train. Even sounds like the little bits of track they laid on this track. I'd love to drive my pony along it, but be too old by, the the time he would be ready.

@@driver667 Wow! I can see on Train Tracker Victoria, there’s a DERM trip! To Ballarat! I’m so grateful this trip is happening literally the day after I asked you about another possible DERM trip! I doubt you and your team planned this last night, but this is a big coincidence! I checked my schedule, and cause I’m in year 12, on the day of the trip, I have something school related that day. I look forward to more DERM trips in the future!!

Beautifully done thank you. We walk this trail from time to time, and wish we had the chance to ride this when it was operational. You made a dream seem real for us. I seem to recall a long term 'plan' by the rail volunteers to progress the line from Bullarto to Trentham. What a grand line this might become again.

Brilliant stuff. With the sound effects it almost felt like the real thing... except for the lack of track and occasional glimpse of the handlebars of the pushbike. May I suggest the far end of the Warburton line for your next project?

Thanks for this. Brings back memories of riding the rail motor from Woodend to Lyonville. Used to enjoy savouring the bush. BTW, I think you were going a little faster than the rail motor😀
Ha ha, that was only about 25 to 30kph although in the last days the rail motor might not have been going that fast. 🤣👍
Thanks for the train ride brings back memories when we derailed the gang trolley and to find the rails were missing on the enbankment this time they had taken in there full lengths and not cut up

I'm not sure where you mean 🤔 the trail comes out beside the hotel before we get to the crossing. I can't find any reference to a 'Millers Crossing'. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍 😀

The rail went down for many years but to be fair, we are being built back up now with so many services available to the public. We just need to improve our freight services also 👍😊 Thanks for watching 👍 😊
