Thank you. Great video.
Bit of a wasted opportunity that Edithvale Chelsea and Bonbeach didn't get skyrail stations
That’s a beautiful ride. ⭐️👍😀❤️
Do you wave at the 'tram drivers'?
Ill know it's probably you if I hear that low then high horn you love using😂
Beautiful to see the Mallee getting rain. Close to Cowangie, I estimate at about 27:00 on the video, is a grave to the north of the road, marked "Site of grave, railway worker. Name unknown 1913". It's a sad relic of the tough times.
They certainly were tough times back then. Don't often see the rain out there. 😊👍

Barely get her out of notch 3 or 4 on this one look like. What the line speed around Spencer Street 25 or 35?

Another really enjoyable video. Question though. Is it ever planned to re-join so many of the grain silos which were disconnected with standardisation
@@grahamfrench9874 I would hazard a guess and think not. 🤔 Glad to hear you enjoyed the video 👍 😀
At the part of the line where pretty much every site or station name is fun to say.

In a hall of residence at uni (in Melbourne) I made friends with a fellow student who happened to be from Underbool, so I learnt from him the pronunciation of some of the stops along the Pinnaroo line. He in turn was surprised that I could describe to him which railway line Underbool was on, and informed me that a certain girl in our hall happened to be from Torrita!
It's a small world, that's for sure. 👍😊

@@yargn3594 thank you. Very happy you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀
Thank you for the great footage, never seen the Murrayville line in action! What's the speed limit along here, 50km/r? It's a shame next to no trains use this line since the upgrade. I'm surprised it wasn't closed. Here's hoping it will get used more this season.
Top speed of the track is 40kph. Yes, I also hope it gets more traffic. 🤞 Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍😀
Pardon my ignorance, but what are those numbers that appear at the bottom left hand corner of the screen? Some backgrounds are white and some are yellow? Thanks.
White - km's from Melbourne. Yellow - speed around and direction of the curve. 👍😀
Does inside the locomotive tell you how many tonnes the passenger train is ??
No. We look at what cars we have and manually add up the tonnage. 👍😀
@driver667 Manually?? Surely not ??
No locomotives tell the driver how much the train weighs. Freight or passenger, the tonnage is worked out beforehand. 👍😀
Muy buen vídeo con hermosos escenarios.
Thank you. Very happy to hear you enjoyed the ride 👍😀
Благодарю за познавательную поездку по Тасманийской железной дороге👍👍. Я так понимаю, пассажирского движения на West Line нет?

Parkdale looks good as a sky rail. Hopefully Aspendale and Mordialloc get similar stations. Not sure what they're going to do with Highett, especially with that big roundabout between there and Moorabbin, but I presume they'll trench due to the apartments built so close to the line.

Back in 1992, the ABC Late Show guys did a parody of the song "Happy Birthday Helen." It was called "We've Just Run Out of Melbourne Cliches", and this is the chorus and 2nd verse. We've just run out of Melbourne cliches (oh no! oh no!) We've just run out of Melbourne cliches (oh no! oh no!) So we went along, to the Victorian tourist bureau Got heaps of ideas for places we'd never even been to Like Sovriegn Hill and Healesville Sanctuary! The Brighton Sea Baths and some kiosk at the end of a pier We went down to a place, I think it was Captain Cook's cabin! We're not all that sure, but at least it rhymes with Moorabbin. That last word is why I get this song as an ear worm every time you post a trip that includes Moorabbin station. There has been a few lately, and so I am rapidly going loopy... although I dare say most people would say that happened years ago. 🤪 (still happy to see the journey though)😊

Most people wouldn't realise that this is Tasmania only major rail line with only massive triple locos hauling containers from the port of Burnie to Brighton near Hobart😅

The Wilderness Railway is perhaps the prettiest train trip on the planet. Tassie has trains.
It certainly is a very beautiful railway. 👍😊
Yes I know I live in Ulverstone. My wife tells me her father worked on the EBR he became a paraplegic after a rail accident. When she was 4 or 5 the train drivers would stop at their railway house and take her on the train into mt Lyle to help mother with the childrens care. She has many fond memories of these kind caring railway men looking after her. They shared their huge sandwiches and made a bed in the guards van . It was a long trip and they would carry her back to the house . This couldn't happen now. The railway men were a tight group and cared for each other. She often remembers those kind gentle lovely men. Riding in the steam engine through the forest and over the trestle bridges is something she will always remember.
@@geoffb108 sound like great memories of great people. 👍😀
I just read about the incident at Huntingdale Station that the police were investigating. Yikes, super scary. By the way, I notice your videos are across both VLine and Metro, as well as a bunch of lines interstate. Are your videos taken by different people and uploaded to this one channel? Or do you actually operate trains all over the country? I assumed if you were contracted to one company (Metro, VLine, etc), you only drive for that one company lol
@@luke.w.cameron I drive for vline but my camera goes for rides on other trains when I organise it with the appropriate people. 👍😀
I’m retired now but I am glad I never had to work on this line. My embarrassment at being paid to experience the view would have been too much!😂

Love traveling the north west of Victoria. Hope to get there someday and watch one of these specials roll on in.😁 Okay then, only 20 minutes till the first New Glenn launch. (so exciting) 🤩
But not in summer.😅
the line has been converted to standard gauge for what purpose, I have watched an earlier video for this line I note the silo's are no longer connected,I doubt its for a passenger service that far out from Melbourne, is there something further down the line that requires rail service?
Jeff Kennett has said he wants to restore frequent mainline passenger services from Murrayville to Melbourne. Part of the plan is to restore the refreshment rooms at Ouyen so that passengers can get off the train while locomotives are rotated on the turntable. Passengers could then transfer to the broad-gauge up service at Maryborough.
@@mjmcb1And locomotive take water and coal. Arrrrh Victorian Railway refreshments rooms..best coffee, railway made meat pies, toasted raisin bread made by their own bakery, eggs from their own chook farm and fresh creamy milk from their own farm, and a cold beer or two.....and the friendly service.....Wait a minute!!??I must be dreaming 1968.....not 2025,
All the other lines around it are already SG. If left as BG there would be no connections to the orger lines. Also it could be used if main line to Adelaide was out of action.
@@afs5609 it was converted to allow access for grain transport from Murrayville. 👍😀
If only they finished the job linked Sealake ( great cooperative owned pub recommend anyone to stay) and Quambbtook lines and Maryborough Ballarat-Geelong standard gauge. Then rail maintenance facility for STD rollingstock at Maryborough out towards Moolort. Give the local community careers, jobs and hope .
Judging by the kilometre posts, this is just about as far from Melbourne you can get on the rail network
Almost. Yelta, out past Mildura is the extremity of the network. 👍😀

In the olden days of steam, the line was duplicated all the way to Bendigo if I recall correctly. There was a lot of grain and freight traffic, but possibly only two or three passenger trains a day. A lot of the line was torn up in the 80's, with sections of single track running. Despite this, today there's probably a passenger train every thirty minutes or less. The duplicated sections of track are dual running (?) in that a train can run on either side as required. When I went to Bendigo about ten years ago, we travelled on the right side most of the way. Some sections are also 160kph (100mph) and these are marked with a large rectangular blue and white sign. The dual Speed limits are for H (High speed) or Diesel hauled trains. Hope I got that right. I live in Queensland.
@@demmyonline the line past Kyneton was singled around 2006. Before that it was double line as you said. Between sunbury and Bendigo the lines are bidirectional. 👍😀
