We do this because we don’t won’t to shock the fish... Also I forgot to tell you, when adding fish in the heavy salt water your fish gets knocked out, so 30 seconds is all you do, no more. I had my betta in 40l tank or maybe 50l im not sure but i didnt watch him as often so i dont know if the difference is that big or if im just watching him closely but recently i upgraded to 200l tank, so far he is there with 6 red neon tetras that he is used to and lived with them before but ever since he is in the 200l tank i noticed he is not swimming as much, he is swimming but he often lays on bottom for some time then he goes up, swims a bit and goes back to laying... I've been looking for any possible causes or why he would be like that, but it seems like he just got lazier with age even tho he shouldnt be so old... :D When he swimms he seems okay, but this concerned me... I hope he is truly okay cuz no matter where I look I dont find anything that would help me figure out why is he like that other than maybe age and laziness :D Gonna try some vitamins I think, already put almond leaves in the tank

Actually i've seen my betta fish grew it's tail back after fierce fights. When they grew their tails, the water gets a little slimy like that of saliva. Just make sure to give em some rest & clean the water
No that's not true betta do regenerate their tail one of my siamese moonlight blue fighter fish had got fin rot and after a week or 2 it was cured by high caring it's tail was completely gone but after two weeks it's tail is full size back to normal

never use cooking salt. it has iodine which is dangerous for fish. Sea salt/aquarium salt is good

No, use Aquarium salt. Buy in pet shops or online. Kitchen salt has additives. Don't use sea salt either. Bettas are fresh water fish.
