It depends how you buy it. The official price of 4/64 of Redmi note 5 is 1399 Rmb and Mi 6X is 1599 Rmb. So roughly around 32 Dollars.
32 dollars here in Brazil's local rates is like R$ 118 ... (our minimun wage is R$ 900).. so it's a hell lot of money when converted.. Majority of the world are poor.. Hence Note 5 Pro is seeling like water wordwide.
The price now same for note 5 ai 4gb ram price is same with mi 6x 4gb ram
hey Alex does Redmi work in the US and supports 4G LTE on Tmobile? I learnt recently that oneplus has some compatibility issues with Tmobile and doesn't get 4G LTE all the time - its spotty at best. Thoughts? Great video as always

@Redskull I guess you missed an important info about the 6X which it has the ability to fast charge! it takes 30 min to recharge 50% or more of the phone, but Note5 doesn't support fast charging, so it takes approximately 2hrs to be fully charged.

Great vid as normal, I chose redmi note 5 over mi 6x I like the bigger battery and sd card slot of the redmi note 5. It was hard to choose between them but redmi note 5 is not that far behind the mi 6x, and quite a bit cheaper.

My redmi note 5 AI has portrait mode using front cam. Funny because i was absolutely certain there was no portrait mode when i unboxed the phone.

yes, I think it will be a nicer phone. The cameras are already better and adding stock Android to that it would be even better
I definitely prefer the non-plastic/smooth look of the 6Xs backside and i'd really like the phone in a different color (like the red one) but that is not enough to make me pay a hundret bucks more. Also i don't care too much about cameras so it doesn't really matter to me that the 6X is slightly better.

There's a portrait mode on Note 5 front cam.
I just watched this on my note 5, and i think it's not worth it to get a little bit upgrade phone with much higher price. For the rom itself, you can change into aosp roms such rr/aex.
I saw lots of reviews where show how redmi note 5 has protrait mode on front camera, what happened here?
I had 2 versions of it, the Chinese one and the global one. At the time of this video the Global version didn't have a portrait mode. Now they both have a portrait mode

no, it can take an SD card but you cannot install apps on it, just same pictures, music

The big advantage of mia2 is that has a much better cam from note 5,also better processor and thinner body.
So mia2 is the perfect phone for its money!

Alex I live in Canada too and I'm with Videotron. Their 4G/LTE network works on B4 and B17 frequency, I see in the specs of the Note 5 that it supports the B4 but not the B17, is that mean the phone has like a 50% coverage for LTE, in other words the signal will be weaker?
It might be a stupid question, but I'm not a tech genius! Lol ..I've already made a mistake of purchasing the Huawei Honor 9 lite last week, which was a big mistake because it only works on 3G and the performance is horrible on 3G!
Hi, so that's the case with most Chinese phones...the 4G compatibility is limited. Depending where you live you may have that LTE 4 band and you may not experience any drops to the 3G network... but it could also be the opposite and than you will be mostly on 3G.... very hit and miss.
Mi 6x, is better in some aspects like camera and performance but lacking some features that note 5 has.

I have already planned to buy Mi6x(mi a2) because of the camera and sd 660. I have Bluetooth headphones so 3.5 mm jack is not a problem and 64gb will be enough for me.

I would go for the Redmi Note 5, simply because overall battery is a winner, and camera-wise, at least in good lighting it is more than adequate!

Only the ones with the Chinese ROM have it, the global rom doesn't have the face unlock

I have two Redmi Note 5s...one with the Global Rom (doesn't have it) and one with the Chinese rom and that one has something called "depth of field effect". It's a bit different than the portrait mode because it's using just one camera and it's software generated. Still, at the time of the video I've only looked at the Note 5 that had the Global rom and that one doesn't have it
appreciated man. I follow ur videos . in this video in 3.24 and 3.26 min he said nice edge detection in portrait mode . that's y saying. He also use global mode.

Except for the worse battery life, lack of SD expansion and no headphone jack. It's a decent phone, but I reckon the note 5 is by far the better deal. If only they had the smooth design of the 6x on the note 5...
