I took hair school and then COVID hit, effectively shutting down the school for more than half a year, in doing so I forgot how to do something’s, and I never really got to work on actual clients. I’m going for a job interview today and there probably gonna ask me to do a cut for them. I’m rewatching how to do all the cuts just to make sure all of them are fresh on my mind, I even did a one length on a friends hair last night ! So many hairdressers do not section the hair for cutting now. I have had bad cuts because of it. My hair is very thick. I wear it long now even though I let it go gray, and cut it myself almost exactly like you did this cut. I will refine my cuts thanks to you!

First and foremost that was an excellent demonstration of a long layered cut! Bravo Summer👏👏👏 I just went to get a haircut and told the hairdresser that I want a long layered cut, she started in the middle of my head , cut straight up never bothered to angle her fingers to drop my long hair in order to blend. It looks like she gave me 2 different cuts. A layered and a one length haircut. She repeatedly told me how great my hair texture is. When she curled my hair at the end, she said I don’t know why the bottom of your hair doesn’t curl. I said probably because there are no layers! I’m so upset that she literally only cut the middle and left the bottom without blending the layers. No wonder it just hangs. Nothing blends! Very disappointing to pay and tip a hairdresser and I’m not happy with the result. Now I have to wait till it grows in and I’m on the hunt for a great hairdresser somewhere in NJ🙏Wish me luck😔
I had the same happen to me in a salon in Manhattan. I never pay attention to what they're doing as I'm expecting them to be the expert, and it looks good when they style it. I didn't realize until I go to style it myself that I see one of the layers is just thin whisps of hair (I have thick hair that needs weight cut out of it--but done right)! One more chance today to see if she can do it right. I'm going to describe what I saw on this video to see if it gets done the way I really want it. So frustrating!

Me three! I have extremely coarse and thick hair, and when it’s cut properly, it looks great. But it doesn’t take much to mess it up royally. And it’s very hard to find somebody that can cut hair like this!

I love that cut, I've always had my hair layered and no one that I know of, within a 100 mile radius of me does hair like you do! I've never had them go over it dry to make sure they didn't miss anything! I wish I could find a good stylist, my hair is in need of a good haircut!!

Such a beautiful haircut! Can you do mine please, lol. Decades ago Cosmetology was offered in our high school as an elective class. I took 2 years. One thing I remember him saying- never cut towards yourself( hand). We always got to practice on real clients on Fridays. They came from the nursing home. ( poor ladies 😂). It was just cutting and setting. We hadn’t learnt colouring etc yet. I’ve had a haircut in salons just a handful of times ( I’m late 50s). They never listen, even with a photo and I come home in tears vowing to never return. This week I’m booked for my first salon color and a cut. I really hope it goes well. 😬
The fact that I am very scared each time I am cutting the front part. With this video I think I am ready to grab the front and do it with confidence. Now I understand how I am supposed to position myself when cutting the front section.

Your hairdresser would have to charge $150 just for this amount of time and precision. In most salons they’re booked up and usually have to rush.
