OMG my sister just cut my hair following this tutorial and I swear this is the best haircut I’ve ever gotten! Even at a hair salon 😭😭😭 (not that we have many good hair salons here in my country and let alone in my tiny town) Thank you so so much for sharing your knowledge and your incredible talent with all of us! 🥹
My daughter and I have been fleeing from domestic violence since my daughter was 7 months old.she is now 2. having to move from place to place, I lost my entire life and not having a single moment for my self care. Thank you for watching and so many positive thoughts coming from me to you and your daughter ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing your incredible story. If you need help in the united states you can look for domestic violence programs near me and you'll find tons of advocates and assistance. Also, Google free clothes near me, free diapers near me, free food near me and you will be amazed at how many resources there are. I never buy clothes or food now that I go to the clothing closets and food pantries. ❤ May God keep you and your daughter safe and peaceful. See if they have a Christians in Recovery near you as well, they are a therapeutic group that meets weekly to overcome habits that are holding us back. It's not necessarily for addicts, they firmly believe EVERYONE can benefit from their step groups and I'd have to agree, I gain so much from the community there.
❤ I'm so happy for you and your daughter. May the universe be kind to you so you'll be financially secure. May your next relationship be with your best friend ❤🎉😊 You are so strong and an excellent mother to get you both out of a dangerous relationship. Rockstar 💯💖😉
This "increased layer" was one of the first haircuts I learned to do 20 odd yrs ago, along with the solid form and uniform (the 2nd year of a 3 year hairdressing degree). Having the guide line working from the vertical plane is super easy to follow. It's a classic and trusty technique to use and I'm so happy to see it being appreciated still 😊.
This is my dream long haircut lol. Hope I can keep growing it out. Always so tempting to chop when it's at the in-between stage. Your hair is beautiful too.
I am cracking up because I am a hairdresser’s daughter and that is literally my haircut and that is exactly what my hair does! Drives my poor mother crazy 🤣😂😂 If I so much as blink my hair moves and has a mind of its own!! You are doing such a great job of explaining while showing what you are doing! It’s very much appreciated 😊
Where do you live? I'm an excellent stylist trained by both Aveda, Paul Mitchell, and Redkin. I'd love the opportunity to work with you to achieve your beauty goals.
Hi Summer! This came at a perfect time for me! I have an upcoming hair appointment and I have been growing out my hair from a shoulder length bob - it's very long now but of course no shape. I am seeing a new stylist too so we haven't established that stylist/client relationship - this helps me so much, it gives me a starting point on how to communicate adding layers. This is exactly the shape I want and I will have this to show her. You rock - thanks so much! I will be checking out your other channel right now 😊💕
Slice both sides in the front. If you want it to fall even, overdirect your blow dry over the head. Then it will always fall framing the face in the perfect rounding. I'm a Dutch hairdresser so I hope this is a good explanation 😊 I don't have these issues because I overdirect my blowdry if I want the hair to fall perfectly round.😅
Definitely a great tutorial and very informative but I definitely don't see how you or myself could do this on my own. It's so different to do these techniques in yourself, especially doing the back part of your hair! But still learned a lot watching 👍 Also I have bangs so that changes it up a bit on the face framing for me.
Hi Summer. I actually went to the salon today, got fresh highlights and a trim. My hair is a tad longer than your mannequin's. I kept my length at the back but my stylist also created more face framing pieces just like you did! I can't believe this coincidence 😁. I am loving my new look and feel brand new 😄.
Love how it’s still thick on bottom I hate it when they do these layers that make ur hair look like split ends. I always end up chopping them off after couple months. Wish I knew about square layers before I chopped my hair off.
Sometimes YT drops the perfect vid in your feed 🎉 My hair looks EXACTLY like your mannequin and the cut you are doing is the one I want! I have not had a cut in almost 3 years bc the last few times were not what I wanted. Also hard to find someone who understands what an actual inch is!
Okay, been watching your channel and this is the cut that will work for me! I plan on doing this to myself. My hair is growing out so there isn't a ton to take off my guide, but at least I will be able to keep my layers long. I then have a side part and will use your side part video for the face framing..thanks so much.
This is soooo amazing! Thank you so very much! I was wondering if you can do this again with someone who does side parting? I would think it may be slightly different in the face framing method if I am correct...thanks again for your amazing videos!
Yes you could do this with a side part you would just need to adjust The face framing. I have a short layered tutorial with a side part that I touch on that if you want to check that out.
Summer, ty for your great videos. I just wish all hairdressers would watch your videos, so they’ll learn how to cut long layers. I’ve had a couple of bad haircuts and trying to grow out my layers again! They never blended my layers so I literally have 2 haircuts.
So glad I found your channel.i'm growing my hair out but I want to get the most out of any length so I don't have regrets. I have pin straight hair naturally but I set it in rollers every to every other wash I don't want a Harsh feathered layering (I'm aiming for a sharp late 60-early 70s blunt horseshoe cut that I can easily work into other decades) I've managed a horseshoe cut the blends well enough with my overgrown curtain bangs but as I curl my hair, the ends are so blunt that it turns into a carpet with duck butt in the back, I thought of making beveled ends (my dream is ends like Aurora from sleeping beauty) I guess rounded layers will be a pain to do on myself so square layers are the next best thing (plus I already visualise how much higher the shortest layer should be and it's long enough to connect without issue)
Dexterous scissor hands! 🤩I really like this cut. If I could grow my hair a bit longer without the ends thinning, this is the type of layering I'd go for.
You’re so lovely summer and very good at your job. Love from 🇬🇧 I’m doing a hairdressing course so love watching your videos. They’re so inspiring.. xx
I loved your video! I need to trim my ends but I have long curly hair and I don’t know if it’s easier for me to do that with wet hair or do I straight my hair? 😅💖 Thanks for the turorial!!
Hello Summer, Fantastic video! Easy to follow step by step instructions. Makes it wonderful learning how to cut and style like a pro, even if someone is not a professional hairdresser. I love the cut and style! Job well done! 👏👏👏😁😍🤘🤩🤘 Thank you!

I’m letting my gray grow out My hair is now shoulder length it’s a grown out bob and it’s also thick and course I think mine would be better with the round cut I believe you said the foun has more movement this is what I need

Very helpful for those that want to keep it long but have too too much hair for a completely blunt cut. I did want to mention since it seemed to bother you how the face layers curved forward on the left when you cut top to bottom then curved backwards on the right when you cut from bottom to top. I've noticed when cutting my hair I have to hold the scissors to cut from the same direction on both sides to get the final frame to curve in a mirrored way. It feels awkward and inconvenient to hold but since my hair is really thick curly/wavy I always have to cut with the scissors angled any degree wanted with the tip upwards and directed towards the front of the head in order to get the final cut to curve back smoothly away from my face. Basically I have to cut it in the exact opposite direction of where I want the hair to rest when complete. *Disclaimer* I'm not a hair stylist. Just a very picky person with thick hair problems and a tendency to diy.
Hey i am a college student. My hair quite long. My hair reaches untill my thigh. So it is difficult to put my hair in a ponytail cause of my hair volume and i have slightly big forehead. I have naturally so much volume so what hairstyle would be perfect for me if i want to cut my hair length to reach until my waist and with framing my hair. Do you think this hairstyle mentioned will be good or should i try another one? If so could you please post a tutorial about it? I like your channel a lot its so detailed. I would have let my hair to be styled by you but i definitely live an another country so its not possible. I hope i get a response. Thank you.
Do you have any recommendations for someone who has more weight on top of their head so layers can always end up making the bottom half stringy/rat tail like. Idk what type of layer pattern I would need

I’ve been cutting my own hair for a while and I’m growing it long. I have quite thick hair so need layers but still want some weight. Would a square layer or a 135 layer be better - I don’t want a ton of layers.
When I am doing this cut myself at home… how can I get the length to be straight across on the back??? When I part down the back and pull forward to my chest… it does a ‘V’ in the back. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!! Love u and will be subscribing to the new channel SUMMER BEAUTY also!!!❤
Aw thanks so much!! 🥰 If you haven't watched this video (th-cam.com/video/U6ZBSnNEbfg/w-d-xo.html) it may help. I don't cut a lot of my own length here but doing this way will prevent the V in the back. Hope it helps!

Hi summer, can you use this haircut for a straight blunt cut? I don’t want layers and I just want to trim a few inches and still keep my hair all one length. Thank you ❤️
No, this will only layer your hair. You do not want to elevate the hair when doing a blunt cut. There are other videos on TH-cam on how you can do it on yourself by pulling the hair to the front and cutting it at an angle

I think the one side is going different than the other: because they were cut differently.

I have a question. How did u do connect the layers in the back with the front? I just saw u layered the back first, and then u did the face framing..
What if you don't have anyone to cut the back of your hair? How would I do that part without ruining my length?? ♥️

It just depends on the density the client has! Typically anywhere from an hour to hour and half, with blow dry.
