I can't sing your praises enough. I've been a hairstylist for many years, and I just want to say that any aspiring hairstylist should watch every single one of your videos. Enough said....Beautiful work!
Wow! What an incredible compliment. You have seriously made my day. Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate your feedback and support.
you are THE goat !! i have zero experience of cutting hair, especially my own but wanted to try how it feels like to be a hairstylist and have this creative freedom over my own hair for once. i have wavy/curly hair, started by dry cutting some loose curls at the bottom than wet my hair and followed this tutorial. finished by diffusing curls, cutting more lose curls and trying to give it a little more shape. i enjoyed the process a lot and the results are better than what i sometimes get at professionals studios. HUGE thanks for sharing your art!
You should get a golden reward for this!!! ❤❤❤ I've been my "own hairdresser" my whole life and no experience what so ever...I have wavy hair and always cut layers and i always have a short bang....anyways, I used ure method 3 months ago and got amazed then today I used it again just to get rid of slit ends and the result!!❤ The layers just flots in and....im actually out of words it's so gorgeous!! Thank u so much James for this video❤
Okay, just got done. I am very pleased. I have the layers that I was looking for. I wanted them in the back as well so I just took it around at the same length. I cut my own hair so I also got an arm work out, lol. Seriously though, if you wait to do the length until AFTER, as he did, as I am doing, I don't think you'll find the layers too choppy. I hate the way my hair gets weighed down. I can't wait to style it tomorrow. Thanks.
@@HairByJamesAnnabel My husband will help me because if I go to a salon they won’t do what I ask, lol. My hair is shorter in the back so I have to do it partially. I’m going to grow it out so I can completely have this classic haircut. Thanks so much and I’ll try to send a photo if I can figure that out.
This process is exactly what I needed to cut my hair with a rotary cuff injury! It took half the time and I don’t feel so haggard about my hair. Thanks!

Hi James! I wish you were in Canada to cut my hair. You really do an awesome job!! I've been cutting my hair for about 4 yrs and while it's not amazing it's also not bad. Then I went to a hairdresser to get bangs. I specifically said I want thick, full bangs straight across. I got sparse, thinned out bangs and there's spaces in my hair ugh. That was 5 weeks ago and they still don't look good. Any tips would be appreciated. You could teach some hairdressers a thing or two. Sorry for my novel lol. Have a great day!!
Welcome to my channel Frances, and thank you so much for watching. I really appreciate your feedback. Biggest tip for a full fringe / bang, make sure your hairdresser is mapping out your bang from the top curvature of your head shape to the recession on each side. If you scroll through my tutorials look for a thumb nail with a bnag and you will see how i zone out my bang. I hope this helps, thickness is everything!
@@HairByJamesAnnabel Hi James! Thank you so much for your reply and the welcome!! I truly appreciate your great tips.
