It appears that the game gives a reverse take on solipsism when you take the hypothetical existence of a Hellstar Remina type of planet, if such thing exists then no consciousness other than it's own exists, and therefore it's our own that is an illusion

Yeah they communicated the abstractness of thoughts really well with that mechanic. I wish the game was longer to utilize that idea more, cuz it was a really cool twist on the typical horror "sanity" mechanic.

Oof, that audio editing on that comic hurt me X'D They really need to turn down the volume of the 'windy atmosphere' and turn up the narration because it was very difficult to hear anything but the wind.
Sucks that the wind is so loud in the end part I can't hear the comic narration at all

Nothing lost XD lady is not good at reading this text any ways. All is super nasal and overacted as if she thought she sound profound. Perhaps howling wind was set louder not due to mistake or to add ambience but to hide her meeh reading.

On another note, I think it's really clever that you have to chip pieces off of a concept for it to fit in the rationalization! I'm not sure if I'm thinking about it too much, but I feel like it could kind of represent how he has to alter the truth about these ideas in order for them to fit what he's finding and processing.

Not sure if anyones interested, but at 13:41 I was curious about the painting on the wall so I looked it up. Its called Death and the Miser by Hieronymus Bosch, a dutch northern renaissance painter. Theres probably more to it, but to me it seems like a usual kind of "momento mori" (reminder of death) or "vanitas" (emptiness). These kinds of paintings served to remind people to be a faithful christian, that earthly pursuits are empty, as in the end we all die no matter what we have, and that you should preserve your ability to get to heaven. Not sure what it exactly means for the game. Maybe the place in the mini game is some sort of limbo?
*Also, the painting at 13:38 is Judith Beheading Holofernes by Caravaggio, a baroque painter.

I don’t quite understand the comic part of the game because I couldn’t even hear the words and the words were too small to read. Her voice was like anti Asmr though.
Yeah that was my least favourite part of this collection so far, it was sharp and awful

the background ambience needs to be cut out, or maybe they need a voice actress who is closer to the mic, a bit louder, and can read the script faster. There's a difference between suspenseful timing and reading with emotion, and being a female Chills (the Top15 guy) who sounds like she's simultaneously eating the mic and whispering at a phone across the room
Either she needed to speak up or they needed to turn down or eliminate the wind sound. It was an interesting story from what I could hear, but not well done in terms of execution.

I agree. The wind was annoyingly loud, while the voiceover was quiet. It agitated me because I wanted to hear what she was saying but someone decided to put a hurricane over it lol.

What a super little game! Played on the natural fears in all of us that there's something more... His nightmares come true for the astronaut. And those did look like fingers trying to brush him away. Maybe the being was trying to rationalize us by fitting us into that little shape, then just couldn't & boom. Thank you for showing us more of the meta game too!!
As soon as he said Hellstar Remina, I'm reminded of that portrait Junji Ito did of himself for the cover of an interview of some sort.
Of course he drew himself as creepy as possible, but the funny part is that the cat on his lap looks entirely normal. Bored, even.

The comic started off really unsettling, but I felt like it lost it's way in the end, there. I think it would have been more effective if it had simply ended with her continuing to drive through the strange landscapes. Surreal horror tends to be most effective when there is cohesive symbolism and dread leading into the twist rather than a bunch of scenarios that don't share common elements. The twist of this comic seemed to be that the protagonist was trying to cope with having murdered her husband, yet it felt tacked on because it wasn't really cohesive with anything before it. What did the drive have to do with the painter? The gallery segment was a complete segue away from the original storyline and theme, and the murder reveal didn't make sense because there wasn't anything in the previous segments that hinted at it.
For the art gallery segment, I think that would have worked perfectly as it's own standalone comic separate from this one. Short, sweet, scary and to the point.
As it is, though, the first part of the comic before the protagonist pulled into the gas station was solid. I just feel that it would have been more eerie and more disturbing if she had simply kept driving while the world apparently unraveled into entropy around her. That would be a suitably existential apocalypse scenario.

I could not enjoy the comic because the sound of the wind had increased over the voice actor. So whatever dramatic atmosphere it was going for was completely drowned out by wind.

It may have been just an atmospheric experience, but that was still solid. The idea of being trapped alone on the moon with no help coming is terrifying enough by itself, you add anything on top of that is just bonus. Great to see the rest of the meta game! I had liked how you handled it in the previous videos, but this method works just as well. I liked the story from the comic, but I hope they lower the volume of the wind in a patch.

Wait at 4:50 how is there the sound of an explosion from the meteorite colliding with the spacecraft when there is no way for sound to travel through the vacuum of space or is the sound from the explosive decompression caused by the spacecraft rupturing? Alternatively, I am trying way too hard to rationalize this oddity in a horror game about a living moon.
I'm guessing the radio they used picked up the explosion sound from inside the craft.
this reminds me of a video NEXPO did, about some weird television channel that would play a weird cartoon about the moon, pretty creepy but very interesting to watch. the video is called "What Is Local58?"

This could be inspired by a personal experience, as young me would actually see a face on the moon if I stare long enough. Obviously it's just an illusion, but young me would always get creeped out after seeing the face, although I would do it again just to experience that fear. And I now just realized I still do this to this day (exposing myself to man-made horror beyond human comprehension)

Solipsism is basically not believing that what is arround you is reall. The rationalize mechanic is basically your protagonist trying to keep himself sane by believing that things around him can be explained. Broken equipment, commies etc. Up until he breaks and enters the state of solipsism, not believing that he is there
Lol that's not what solipsism means. The whole game is the moon's solipsism, the belief that only it is real. The astronaut just becomes a part of its rationalization to support that belief.

I honestly always felt like solipsism was a selfish, almost sociopathic philosophy. Thinking that you're the only "real" person seems dangerously close to thinking you're the only one whose welfare and opinions matter.
