I’d guess the “don’t let it out” in the second game is significant.
I may be wrong in my assumption but I think that the husband never had the chance to do any of those things. What I think really happened was that the man was having homicidal thoughts and killed himself as a result. I think that what we saw was what he’d been thinking about up until the point of death. I don’t think the husband killed his family, I think he got dismissed from work and wanted to kill his coworkers along with his family.
I mean, what if he was driving to work in order to do exactly what we saw. Maybe he intentionally, or unintentionally, crashed his car on his way to work to avoid that situation.
I don’t quite know, just some food for thought.
I actually think you have a good point here cuz the last bit where the radio voice says 'she's making bacon and eggs again, you feel your stomach drop' at first I thought he disliked that but he probably loves that dish and having to tell his wife he got fired was the big news he didnt want to tell her or kill her and his kid. Especially since the difference in how his hands looked from beginning to end, I think you assumption is pretty on the mark. I liked it a lot :D
I have another theory, not trying to say yours couldn't be ofc, I just imagine I'd get a response faster if I reply to a comment instead of making my own.
What if her wife died, I don't really know how but, he had something to do with it, not necessarily killing her, but maybe was an indirect cause, her daughter killed herself after, then we show up to work and people start talking about you, they start saying things about you, and you hate them (I think you may be the boss, because the outfit when you crash the car and the one the boss has are pretty similar, plus he gives you the shotgun, maybe he is a representation of your mind) after killing your coworkers, you go back home, you crash into a tree and kill yourself, I'd say you are either in purgatory or in hell or something, because they are telling you to embrace what you've done, I imagine it's because you've done did it, maybe he couldn't bury her wife because she was beyond repair, dismembered or lost, because she completely falls apart when you push her and sinks in a poodle of blood.
Anyways that's all I have to say, I know I was all over the place there, but that's just how I am.
So, when the doctor gives m,anly his injections, does he say " _anime_ " to block out the pain?

11:23 Alright I haven't finished the video yet but why the heck is there a tree in the middle of the road ever so conveniently placed for the car to crash into? Did the road builders deliberately cement around the tree or did it just casually grow in the middle? Maybe I'm overanalyzing this but I guess it's a random question that'll be stuck in my head for eternity.

It's pretty obvious that the game is presented as a string of memories, and a lot of the time when people have car accidents they recall it as if the obstacle just appeared in front of them. It's faithful to the subjective experience of crashing into a tree, not the physical reality of it.
@@Graknorke Oh, I actually never knew about that fact on car accidents. Originally, I thought it was perhaps a strange detail that was for convenience but that makes sense!

I've seen this before but never realized, the "last thing I need to do" was kill the doctor with what she created, because she ruined his family. That's makes it so much creepier. Especially since he killed the others, but was going to let his "family" kill her

I think with a date to keep is that the man already killed his family and was on his way to kill everybody in his work place, but he killed himself to prevent his "demon" out. Everything after that was probably his final sick fantasy of what he was going to do.
I think it's that someone else killed his wife, his daughter killed herself because of it, and he couldn't afford to have them buried due to being laid off from work, so he went psycho, killed his former coworkers, then killed himself.

Ngl the first mannequin jumpscared me so bad
I... I'm having trouble expressing how utterly terrifying the office building section is in the second game. The near total darkness, the complete lack of music, the fact that you can't use the flash light at the same time, the inhumanly fast and twitchy movements of the mannequins as well as their screams... it's horrifying in the way that you don't completely break down, you panic just enough that it isn't a jump scare but it sets your body into high alert.

This version of "Cry of Fear" seems nice.
I don't know why, but these PS1 style graphics are always kind of unsettling, everything just looks slightly "wrong" in a way. Even though I love the style, it has something spooky to it

I think i might have got thru the entire "assorted horror games" playlist. I really enjoy listening to it while playing a different game or working bc obvious reasons (Manly's narration / reading being god tier) - also the little reviews at the end of the games are great along with the regular outro, there's a sort of comfort in that. Thanks for putting out so much awesome content. ❤️

As much as I like silent hill inspired games, I wish some would take more risks when it comes to monster/demon designs, like mannequins are fine and all but I'd love to see someone make a SH inspired game and try and base their monster designs on some of the really out there SH monsters, just for example (monsters from various SH games good and bad incoming) the closer, lying figure, missionary, schism, gum head, pyramid head, twoback. Although just because i think the monsters could be more inspired doesn't mean i think the games are bad, like at all! there waaay better than anything I and many other people could make, and the sounds and atmosphere are really good too

Liking this Real Stories From the Grave series so far, I'm interested to see what they do next. Between the two, A Date To Keep was the more interesting but that's mostly due to it having a longer runtime to expand on the story. The Body was still nice and disturbing.

The games are well made, but the only downside personally are how the mannequins move. I just find it a bit...lame. Like on those TV shows such as Supernatural or The Vampire Diaries when they use the special effect of super speed, but it looks really cheap and somewhat hilarious. I get what the dev/s were doing, but I find slow moving enemies are more freakier. Maybe they should have mixed up slow and fast enemies. Like with the Resident Evil Remake with the normal zombies and the Crimson Heads
