    Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much. A quick tutorial on dam break would be great. I used to introduce my dam as an obstacle in the flip fluid and I used to get a nice backwater wave. Now that I try cell fracture to break my dam into small pieces and deactivate them and introduce the water as an active object (animated), I don't know why It doesn't work; water goes through the pieces and no collapse. Any help?

    Awesome tutorial!
    Is there any way to control if an object fractures, based on the physics of the object hitting the fracturable object? I am trying to simulate a rock breaking when stuck by a sphere.
    I have been able to do this with the cell fracture addon, but I would like to somehow control the sensitivity. i.e. when a big ball hits the object it fractures, but when a small ball hits the object, nothing happens. Is this possible using cell fracture?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the tutorial. How do you keyframe the animation? For example if you had a cube and you wanted it to pause for a number of frames and then fall and shatter. Right now it shatters from the first frame. I saw where you talk about Deactivation , but that seems to be for pausing it until an animated passive object hits it. Would you simply animate the cube until it comes into contact with the plane with the plane set up as a passive body? Thanks.

    • @TheCobyRandal
      @TheCobyRandal 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe it's built into the add-on however even if it's not built in maybe you can do something with rigid body constraints that are breakable?

  • @georges8408
    @georges8408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks for this tutorial... that would be an excellent addon IF IF IF IF it could hide the lines that become visible after you apply the cell fracture... easy to use but almost useless in practice because the wall has already become damaged before you do anything

    • @hobbitjaffa
      @hobbitjaffa ปีที่แล้ว

      You can hide it. You can have a copy of the object before it’s fractured just slightly bigger than the fractured one so it hides all of the damage. You can then use keyframes to hide the undamaged copy the frame before it’s supposed to break

    • @georges8408

    Love your tutorials! I'm having a problem with something tho. I'm using a UV Sphere instead of a cylinder to hit the wall (not that it matters). But there's instances where if the sphere starts off too close to the wall, the wall drops straight down completely ignoring the two deactivation tabs I checked off. If you have any ideas or suggestions it'd be much appreciated thank you!

      In rigid Body > Collision > change shape to Sphere and see how you go.

    How would i go about importing this to unity? Does it need rigidbody before i import or do i just do it regularly?

    When you hit that wall with the tube , how do you make the cube ( the fractured object ) stay in one place instead of it falling down ?

    Great video, thank you for doing it. Wondering....how i can make a sphere drop on a fracture mesh to break it. I did it with using key frames but is there a way to do it using the physics?

    hi, so um, I have several questions about this. This is my second week on my Blender journey. And I have followed all the instructions in your tutorial and everything is working fine on my viewport. When I try to render it as an image everything was good at every frame. But when I render it to animation, the cube won't fall off. I tried to used Cycles, Eevee, and AMD Pro Render for the engine and all of the results are the same. Do you have any suggestions for this?
    Thank you, Nice Tutorial anyway.

      So you have hidden the cube from the viewport, but you have not hidden it from the renderer

    Curious why, on the first part of cube animation, you didn't have to "copy from active"...?

    • @Markom3D
      @Markom3D  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The reason you copy from active is if you change the default settings for the physics

    Do you have to download the cell fracture into Blender? If so how do I get it? Another question how would you put an image onto the object an would it still break into pieces?

    ok, this was a great tutorial, BUT
    Is it possible yet to make the fractured pieces ya know, stick together a little more? So the whole thing doesn't break apart when you hit a certain side or part
