Nice, thanks! Living the dream :D
Sure am lol
Wow I've been looking for fracture tutorials and here is the perfect one made 4 years ago... thank you so much for making it so easy
It took me way too long trying to find a fracture tutorial this good for Blender 2.8+. Thank you! Subscribed and will be checking out your other content! :)
cheers mate. I really appreciate it.
Thankyou for this. After spending over an hour pissing around in Maya trying to get the shatter effect to work, I decided to download Blender and within 2 mins i got the exact effect i was looking for.
Thank you so much, I finally can understand and set fracture on objects and make it look the way I want it. Great job.
No worries mate, you are more than welcome. Share the video around if you can.
Straight to the point! Great tutorial man. Subscribed.
Awesome mate, Thank you very much
In 4 minutes you explained what takes others half an hour to do.

Ajinkya Pandey all good
living the dream, hahah nice one
yeah mate lol
I love your tutorials:) well pitched at giving complete newbs confidence to have a bash, and a workflow reminder once learned. Got a question on this video. Is there a way to control the frame this starts at? Say I want it to run from frame 100 to 150?
Why are you so good
Thank you!
You're welcome!

Thank you sir!
You are welcome!
thanks
Thankkkkkksssss!
no worries
Amazing!!!!!! good thing I have subscribe ur channel:)
cheers, I really appreciate it.
Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much. A quick tutorial on dam break would be great. I used to introduce my dam as an obstacle in the flip fluid and I used to get a nice backwater wave. Now that I try cell fracture to break my dam into small pieces and deactivate them and introduce the water as an active object (animated), I don't know why It doesn't work; water goes through the pieces and no collapse. Any help?
Nice!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I like it!
cheers mate
MATE thanks for the quick tuotorial. It's so refreshing for you to treat us like we know what we're doing and explain what we need to to do it. No mucking around talking slowly about what you're going to do.. If all tutorials in the world were like this the world would be twice as efficient.
I try my best mate. Hopefully these will get me going
Living the dream !
Always mate, Always
Awesome tutorial!
Is there any way to control if an object fractures, based on the physics of the object hitting the fracturable object? I am trying to simulate a rock breaking when stuck by a sphere.
I have been able to do this with the cell fracture addon, but I would like to somehow control the sensitivity. i.e. when a big ball hits the object it fractures, but when a small ball hits the object, nothing happens. Is this possible using cell fracture?
Thanks!
Awesome
no worries mate
@@Markom3D 😁
I am a Fan of you now
Very good .. thx
no worries mate
thank you veryyyyy much
No worries mate. Hopefully you got what you needed.
ELegante tu tutorial!!
great vid. I was using this on a pillar to fracture a section of it, unfortunately it explodes out and all the pieces scatter off screen lol. any advice on how to make it just drop vertically and scatter on the floor? thanks for the advice in advance
tanku bro thanku
no worries mate, you are more than welcome
Yeah, cell fracture is back!
I am playing with it atm, its pretty cool.
@@Markom3D No missing pieces this time?
SquareRootOf2 not this one. But this video is an older version
love ya
lol, cheers mate. Thank you for the support
wow thanks ist helped
no worries, glad I was able to
@@Markom3D of course i will subscribe your channel
bAYUMMMM !
subscribed :)
Awesome, welcome mate
Can you for an example make the object be fractured much more between collision of the wall and a sphere or a ball for an example or rocks being launched at it from catapult. Something like that? Possible? Or fracture along a spline.
nice but how do you make the ones that are not getting hit by the cylinder static? with other words: only activate physics on the objects which collide with the cylinder
NICEEE! Now teach me how to make a small hole on the wall like something hit it .. 😊
Its taking me a really long time to load the cell fracture once I say ok. Idk if i'm doing something wrong any way to fix?
WOW
im new to blender so this is a mind blown moment for me
One question though, how do I put a material on all of the segments?
I will have a new version of this video soon
3:40 looks amazing
Abraham Ordoñez Zarco I love the smashing, it’s pretty cool
Well perfect tutorial, upload many videos.thanks😭
spidy for ever cheers mate
any bullet contraints for 2.8 yet ?
Thaaaaaaanks! I didn't know how to add rigid body to many objects and I made 1 object and then copied it :D
Sorry for mistakes I don't speak English well
@@danilchirva3993 all good mate, glad I was able to help
Thanks for the tutorial. How do you keyframe the animation? For example if you had a cube and you wanted it to pause for a number of frames and then fall and shatter. Right now it shatters from the first frame. I saw where you talk about Deactivation , but that seems to be for pausing it until an animated passive object hits it. Would you simply animate the cube until it comes into contact with the plane with the plane set up as a passive body? Thanks.
Maybe it's built into the add-on however even if it's not built in maybe you can do something with rigid body constraints that are breakable?
thanks for this tutorial... that would be an excellent addon IF IF IF IF it could hide the lines that become visible after you apply the cell fracture... easy to use but almost useless in practice because the wall has already become damaged before you do anything
You can hide it. You can have a copy of the object before it’s fractured just slightly bigger than the fractured one so it hides all of the damage. You can then use keyframes to hide the undamaged copy the frame before it’s supposed to break
@@hobbitjaffa productivity falls to zero... image have to do this for multiply objects in a larger project.. it better do something else or find another way. Unfortunately this tools is useless.
how did you animate the cylinder to move like that
Are there any constraints for a more realistic look?
hello question how would i make it so parts only fall when they get hit because im making a building falling in to another building
Is it possible to make the seams even?
now time to expload heads with this XD
Quick and easy. I don't dream of smashing stuff though
lol, once you start though you cant stop.. for a while... baking...
it's great !! But then I try to place the plane object it don't stand still without destroying.
1:35 for me the cube falls down and the fractured object remains in same place what to do? please.(2.79)
I'm on a Mac. Ctrl+R doesn't create edge loops. Can't figure out how to do it.
Nice and short, thanks. How could I export the explosion as animated fbx to be used in other apps?
we talking about cell fracture? or smoke sim?
@@Markom3D Cell Fracture, sorry for not being clear. I wanted to export the animation as FBX to use in Spark Ar Studio.
Love your tutorials! I'm having a problem with something tho. I'm using a UV Sphere instead of a cylinder to hit the wall (not that it matters). But there's instances where if the sphere starts off too close to the wall, the wall drops straight down completely ignoring the two deactivation tabs I checked off. If you have any ideas or suggestions it'd be much appreciated thank you!
In rigid Body > Collision > change shape to Sphere and see how you go.
@@Markom3D Thank you for the quick response! I just tried it and it still isn't working for some reason
How would i go about importing this to unity? Does it need rigidbody before i import or do i just do it regularly?
Mollie tol I’m not too sure. I know UE4 has a destructive system, but not sure about unity. How to Enable Destructible Mesh ue4 4.21 th-cam.com/video/dE_7u7GDtdE/w-d-xo.html
When you hit that wall with the tube , how do you make the cube ( the fractured object ) stay in one place instead of it falling down ?
You need to enable Start Deactivated in the Dynamics
THX tutorial
No worries, would love to see what you come up with
How would you save and export?
lol the pieces of my mesh dont drop they float around like they in space, can you even do a cell fracture to a cylinder
Спасибо! Круто!
не волнуйтесь
Great video, thank you for doing it. Wondering....how i can make a sphere drop on a fracture mesh to break it. I did it with using key frames but is there a way to do it using the physics?
Ignore my question. Just watched another one of your videos that explains my question :-)
all good, I was going to suggest this one that I created aswell th-cam.com/video/twIjXtaq0oI/w-d-xo.html
@@Markom3D Great tutorials :-). Have you animated a conveyor belt?
hi, so um, I have several questions about this. This is my second week on my Blender journey. And I have followed all the instructions in your tutorial and everything is working fine on my viewport. When I try to render it as an image everything was good at every frame. But when I render it to animation, the cube won't fall off. I tried to used Cycles, Eevee, and AMD Pro Render for the engine and all of the results are the same. Do you have any suggestions for this?
Thank you, Nice Tutorial anyway.
So you have hidden the cube from the viewport, but you have not hidden it from the renderer
@@Markom3D finally got it! Apparently, I need to hit the bake all the dynamics button and everything works smoothly!
Cheers!
@@hendrikusuma2638 Ah ha - No worries mate.
Curious why, on the first part of cube animation, you didn't have to "copy from active"...?
The reason you copy from active is if you change the default settings for the physics
Do you have to download the cell fracture into Blender? If so how do I get it? Another question how would you put an image onto the object an would it still break into pieces?
Cell fracture comes with Blender - here is an updated version of this video - th-cam.com/video/twIjXtaq0oI/w-d-xo.html
ok, this was a great tutorial, BUT
Is it possible yet to make the fractured pieces ya know, stick together a little more? So the whole thing doesn't break apart when you hit a certain side or part
Randomness_TV I am trying to work this out aswell. I have another tutorial lined up when I work this out.
Increasing the mass of the segments worked for me. Hope that was what you were looking for
GHOSTTITAN I will try this tonight
